This wood stock version is a beautiful replica of the M1 carbine. Feels and looks real good. Well balanced and shoulders well. I purchase these replicas for collecting, however, its pretty accurate in my garage shooting range at 30'.
Things I would have changed:Clip inserts with a firm push. The one I recall from my military years went in with a hand slap. If I am not remembering this correctly please don't hesitate for someone to correct me here. It's been fifty years!! This is by no means taking anything away from this well made replica.

First impressions: Nice shipping container , packed well, and general overall appearance excellent,. I I shot a couple of clips through it and it was very accurate, a good buy.
Things I would have changed:The only bad thing i found was the top front forend piece is loose rattles when pick it up and handle it,not cool ! One other thing i would do is put some sound deadening material in the stock like Umarex did with their Legends Win. 94. Also would like the blow back bolt lock after the last round is fired
What others should know:On the positive side the carbine is a excellent replica and will look good in my collection. thank you,Jim E.

The authenticity, the hardwood stock, the trigger, the wind correction feature with click (1 click is approximately 1/8 of an inch at 24 feet (1.5 MOA). It is very precise at 24 feet with Hornady Black Diamonds (3/4 inch group). On my M1 at 24 feet, the zero wind correction is on the third mark from the right. It is a very nice rifle and has my Length of Pull.
Things I would have changed:To have elevation correction (at 24 feet you can not use the 6 oclock aiming if you want to put all shots inside a 1.5 inch bullseye). To be able to replace the wind correction plate with a Picatinny rail to install a red dot. To avoid the CO2 firing after the last shot.
What others should know:I almost returned it because of BBs rolling down the barrel. However, after swapping magazines this issue almost disappeared. The magazine I was using had a broken follower and that may be the cause, lets see. It still happens sometimes, when two BBs are loaded or after loading the rifle (pulling and releasing the bolt on the first shot) and lowering the barrel. I did not give 5 stars because of this issue.
The provided Allen key is 6mm not the normal 1/4. I want to thank Pyramyd Air for the excellent support.

Very authentic reproduction of the M1Carbine. Weight, feel and even the trigger pull brings back memories. I was impressed by the accuracy of this M1 right out of the box.
Things I would have changed:I would like if the paint used on the magazine could be more durable. Paint wore off after the first loading. I would have also liked to have seen the wood stock included instead of having to upgrade to the wood stock. I have many other air rifles where the wood stock was standard issue for even those rifles priced less than the M1's $199. I would also like to see a pellet version become available.
What others should know:Overall I do give this air rifle a positive review. I like the fact that I am able to use the Excite copper clad lead bb's in it. For anyone interested in collecting military air guns this would be an excellent addition.

A Fantastic rifle, Fun to shoot and looks like the real ones, My grand son loves shooting it., I'm ordeing an extra Magazine.I ordered other Items along with the carbine, Received everything, except the six extra shells I ordered and paid for for the Colt 45 pistol. . The rifle is a great deal for the money $199.99,would have like it to have an extea Magazine
Things I would have changed:Complete the order send me the shells I paid for
What others should know:Great rifle I would recommend it, if my order was completed, The rifle was worth the extra two weeks I had to wait, as it was back ordered

The weapon is light, looks great and does have a manual reload by operating the bolt, but is not truly semi-automatic. Also the magazine and .177 pellets have a minor fit problem that prevents actually loading the 15 pellets and second pellet strip off when the bolt is operated after firing the first pellet. 13 pellets was the max for best operation. However, I must say that this design permits significantly more rapid reload and fire time over any other air rifle that I have tested or seen advertised. I would love to see a redesign that automates the reload and bolt action to make the air rifle truly semi-auto!
What others should know:See above comment. Can your supplier redesign to make this truly semi-auto, with either CO2 bleed to operate the bolt and reload the following pellet!

Looks like My Fulton Arms M-1, lot of fun to shoot, have the wood stock also, plastic stock looks good, no issues, very happy I splurged for both styles, lucky to have all 3 variations of crosman m-1. Highly reccomend for history buffs and just plinking targets.
Things I would have changed:Have Oiler and slings available.
What others should know:Get extra mag, You will go thru CO2, 40 odd shots per cartridge so far.

Looks like the real thing, blow back and bolt operation are nice. The gun has a lot of power and although I only get about 45 shots per CO2 cartridge they are solid shots. The swivel for the sling is nice along with the butt cutout to accommodate the classic sling installation. It's a lot of fun.
Things I would have changed:Magazine BB loading is difficult. There's very little mass on the BB pusher to grab and pull back, the spring is strong and gives a lot of resistance, and the hole to load the BBs is just barely the right size. When you set the pusher into locking position it just barely holds and easily displaces and has to be reset to finish loading. Since the BB hole is so tight it makes it hard to use a speed loader. I think an easier loading design would have been beneficial. The magazine is VERY heavy. A higher capacity magazine would be nice, maybe a 30 round?
What others should know:The magazine that came with the gun broke immediately, the BB pusher needed to be repaired. I ordered a spare magazine and after the first CO2 cartridge the seal came out with the empty cylinder. I had to glue it back. So I've had issues with the magazines, both I was able to fix but still had problems. I hope this was a unique circumstance as I really like the gun.

This does not feel like plastic nor look like plastic. When I opened the box and saw the carbine for the first time I really wondered for a moment if they had mistakenly sent me one of the wood equipped guns. Closer inspection shows it not quite up to successfully duplicating wood, but it is the best imitation I have ever seen. What amazed me was its accuracy. With the Crosman Black Widow BB and at 6 yards it gave an overall group for 15 shots of 1/4". I did this offhand, so the gun has accuracy. It was only 6 yards but really, if the gun can do that it is a winner. I shot around a little at distance (25 yards) near my pond and as I watched the point of impact on the water at the edge, all shots were very close to the point of aim. Using an adapted sight described below on another 6 yard indoor shoot with the Crosman Black Widow ammo offhand, 44 of 45 shots (one flyer) landed in the center of the 9 ring in a .771" group with 39 eating out the bulls-eye into .412" This baby will shoot!
Things I would have changed:The non-adjustable peep can be replaced. I bought a KENSIGHT ADJUSTABLE REAR SIGHT ASSEMBLY for the standard centerfire M-1 carbine. I took out the adjustable ramped elevation assembly from this sight and put in place of the CO2 Springfield Armory non-adjustable ramp assembly. It fits right in as the windage adjustment screw is the same diameter with the same thread pitch. You need to use the Springfield Armory windage adjustment assembly screw, end nut and keeper and use a 1/16" diameter ball bearing for the tensioner part that is located in the bottom of the elevation adjustable ramp and it works perfectly. There are two rough places on the stock that are some residue that has hardened. I did not attempt to smooth this out due to the risk of making matters worse. The magazine spring jumped out of the raceway through the widened locking slot for the follower tab for the first two attempts at pulling it back to load. Loose and rattling handguard. Because of these defects, only 4 stars.
What others should know:Velocity met the factory rating on average. Rapid firing has its usual effect on slowing the gun but in slow fire it is as advertised. Later on a warmer afternoon and after firing one magazine of 15 shots, I measured velocity at 448 to 452 fps, so the gun is not over rated. To fix the problem with the magazine spring jumping out of the raceway, I drove out the pin at the bottom of the housing and removed the lower guide and replaced the spring. I noted the spring was arching up during compression and the coils were catching on the edge of this widened area. I smoothed out the edges and the problem was solved. Also, the upper hand guard was loose and rattled badly. I removed the fore-end furniture and put some rubber material at the rear edges of the handguard that fit under the receiver ring and a second piece at the forward end. This provided a snug fit and ended the rattle. If not for those three problems (magazine spring, loose handguard and residue) I would have given it 5 stars.

This is probably the most accurate representation of any WWII military rifle (or even Vietnam) that I have seen. It has a great look and feel and you really have to look it over to tell that the stock is not really wood. The magazine has a great deal of weight but balances it just fine. I owned and eventually sold a real M1 Carbine made by Inland in beautiful shape and purchased from the Department of Civilian Marksmanship for only $84.00. I also handled them in Vietnam.
Things I would have changed:I might reconsider getting the real wood stock for an extra $100.00 but it's not really a deal breaker. I would add an oiler (non functional) used to anchor a military sling in the butt to make it really look good.
What others should know:This is a great addition to my collection. I also collect and enjoy Soft Air replicas but this is technically a real rifle. I haven't had a lot of range time with it yet but everything works like it is supposed to and 5 meters is really no problem at all.

Very close replica of the cartridge gun! This gun is a blast to shoot. The blow back gives the the sensation and feel of shooting the cartridge version only without the noise and recoil. Magazine changes are a snap and I have two loaded and ready to go for each shooting session. I have the wood stock version and you just can't tell the difference from the real thing. I bought a sling and oiler for this gun to add to the realism, and the fit is perfect.
Things I would have changed:Every thing about this gun is great. I can't think of anything that needs to be changed.
What others should know:The accuracy is good with all the BBs tried so far. This is a plinker not a 10 meter target gun and I have been having great fun shooting cans and reactive targets with it. If you can afford the wood stock version, I would highly recommend paying extra for it.

The Springfield M1 CO2 Carbine is an amazingly accurate clone of the real thing. I have had an original in my hands, and the weight and balance is very close to the original. It looks so real, I would advise not pointing it at someone who has a firearm. Accuracy is good. My backyard range allows only 10 yards, and at that range I consistently achieve 1.5 inch groups, with the bullseye pulverized. This is the most fun I've ever had with a BB gun.
Things I would have changed:It would be nice to offer a sling.

This is a beautiful gun that looks real and functions like the real thing. I love the blow back action. I actually wanted the one with the wooden stock but my wallet did not want me to have that one. I like the one that I received just the same.
Things I would have changed:I like the gun the way it is.
What others should know:I am getting about 30 rounds per co2 bottle. I guess a lot of it goes to the blow back action, so stock up on co2. This gun is so much fun to shoot.

Because I got the wood stock, the rifle is extremely realistic. My excuse for buying this rifle is that my father, an officer in the Marine Corps during WWII, carried the real thing. He survived Peleliu and Okinawa, or I would never have been born. Because the bolt cycles, it is fun to shoot. It is even fun to shoot when you run out of BBs.
Things I would have changed:I was disappointed that the rear sight is not adjustable for elevation, only for windage. Also, I have to fiddle with the magazine to get it to properly lock into the rifle. The mag release button functions, but there is a sweet spot that must be hit before it locks the magazine in place. I cannot simply insert the magazine and have it click into place.
What others should know:I like to see just how far back I can get and still retain accuracy. At 75 feet on a bench using a bag, this rifle is not very accurate. I am getting 6" groups at that distance. At 30 feet, it is okay. You get about 30 good shots per CO2 cylinder.

Love everything about this rifle. I shoot at targets at 70 ft and with open sights pretty much stay in a 3-5 in circle. For plinking thats pretty cool.
Things I would have changed:Would be nice if it operated with two co2 cylinders as the blow back uses a lot of juice allowing less than 50 shots per 12 g.
What others should know:Spend the dough and get the wood furniture

I very much liked the design. I had many years ago I version of the Crossman airgun M-1 Carbine bb gun. That was my first bb gun. the new varsian is much more powerful then my Crossman m-1 carbine . I like the lines of the M-1 carbine. It is a very close replica m-1 carbine.
Things I would have changed:Please try to improve the quality control and value. My rear sight broke within a week also my front sight became disconnected in less that a week. both were quick fixes but they should haved worked for more than a week. One Item I would change is the magazines they began to chip and slip very quiclly.
What others should know:for the pricepoint I would have expected not to have the several issues I had. I got much better performance out of my Colt single action army's

Looks really good, great weight to both the gun and magazine. The machining work is very nice, have not found any sharp edges yet. I opted for the real wood stock and although I am not sure if it was worth the extra $100 it is pretty cool and well done
Things I would have changed:The powder-coating(?) is less than spectacular, around the third time I removed the magazine I noticed that the coating was already coming off some of the mating surfaces, not rubbing off, but flaking off. The magazine seems the suffer this more than the gun itself does. The is also knicks is the receiver on the edges of the hole for the rear screw that holds the receiver to the stock, which I am assuming was simply an assembly mistake and not a manufacturing one since it looks like it was done after the powder-coating(?) was applied. Also the barrel is free floating inside the faux barrel so it is not in the center and can move freely
