Things I liked:

I have several 1911 CO2 BB pistols most of which are finished in black or a weathered finish. This SA 1911 TRS is a unique version that I just had to add to my collection. The surface finish of the stainless steel is excellent. The lettering is engraved in the steel, not painted on. Although the traditional safety warnings on airguns don't bother me, I admit to liking this pistol even more because the safety warnings are not there. The white dot tactical sights are much better than the traditional 1911 sights. For a 1911 pistol with fixed sights, this one has excellent accuracy. The point of impact is actually the same as the point of aim at 18 feet distance to target. My bench rested 10 shot groups at 18 feet for most BBs were about 2" to 3" in size. Marksman Premium Grade Steel BBs produced the smallest 10 shot group at about 1 5/8". Although the grips are plastic, they have an attractive faux wood appearance.

Things I would have changed:

Nothing.

What others should know:

BBs tested by shooting 10 shot groups from a bench rested position at 18 feet distance to target: Umarex Steel (2 1/2"), Copperhead (2 3/4"), Hornady Black Diamond (2 3/8"), Marksman (1 5/8"), Cybergun/Swiss Arms (2 1/8"), Smart Shot (2 1/4"), Daisy Premium (2 1/4"), and Daisy Avanti (2 1/8"). Total shot counts: Swiss Arms CO2 (62) and Umarex CO2 (65). The SA 1911 TRS comes in a cardboard box that includes the pistol, a hex wrench, BBs, and a threaded adapter for a faux suppressor if and/or when one becomes available. The end of the barrel is threaded so that the adapter can be screwed into the end of the barrel. A faux suppressor would be screwed onto the exposed end of the adapter.

Look and feel.

Things I would have changed:

Make it so a CO-2 cartridge last more than one afternoon. It is disappointing that I need to use cartridges so often.

    Things I liked:

The weight and features...like all except the rail (but the 70s version's sight's are standard GI and hard to see). I think rails on a pistol look bad, personal preference. Aside from the rail and bobtail, It is pretty much the same gun as my colt commander, just stainless finish. I put a nice set of VZ grips on it and it looks cool now- fun to shoot too!

    Things I would have changed:

My gun was pretty dirty and smelled like fireworks/smoke when I got it. I notice this sometimes with stuff made in China, but after a couple polishing with some silicone cloth I got most of the grime that was on the gun off. The edges are a little sharp, especially around the lettering. When polishing, the sharp lettering edges shear off fabric from a cleaning cloth. So, maybe a light sand or glass bead blast to refine it a bit more (and would pay more) but it is what it is. Remember, the cost here because if is one heck of a BB gun for the money if it lasts.

    What others should know:

As all CO2 magazines, be careful not to go too fast and cross thread- the metal is not stainless steel. Otherwise, have fun! A new set of grips really changes the gun from a Springfield Loaded GI "clone", into more of a custom looking piece.

    Things I liked:

These are a blast. My wife and I both shoot real 1911's, and this bb gun makes for great alternative practice in this age of $1/round ammo. Because all the functions are identical to a real 1911 (thumb safety, grip safety, slide lock and full slide travel) it's really good to keep current with your safe gun handling skills year round. Snow on the ground? 100F at the range? Break out the bb guns!

    Things I would have changed:

I have a real problem with the realism of this style bb gun. My opinion is if you want a real looking firearm, then buy a real firearm and have fun with it. I think these bb guns should be marketed as training tools, and come in your choice of colors: Day-glow Orange, Day-glow Orange, or Day-glow Orange. Unrelated to the bb gun, I sure wish Pyramyd Air would give us a UPS option for shipping. FedEx ground, true to form, lost this shipment for about a week before finally getting it to us.

    What others should know:

If you're expecting a realistic 3-5lb 1911 trigger, you're going to be a little disappointed. The trigger on this bb gun functions mechanically similarly, but it has a very, very long travel and it's pretty heavy. Totally functional though, and still great for training.

    Things I liked:

I like 1911s and the Swiss Arms TRS is one of my favorites. It has a nice blowback, mine shoots straight, combat shooting 1.5-inch group at 5 yards. Although it has good white dot sights I installed an UTG LS200 laser. The trigger is good and the gun is field strippable. I also like it does not have those horrible white warnings written all over.

    Things I would have changed:

The safe is a pain... It goes easily on SAFE in the middle of a shooting because of the large "wing" which doesn't have a good lock and your thumb only needs to touch it a little. It would be better to have the original safe.

    What others should know:

As most of the 1911, it gives 60 rounds per CO2 not shooting too fast. I put a Helix Thread Protector, 14mm x 14mm CCW - Standard Length. My last TRS broke with 3400 rounds fired.

    Things I liked:

I rated it 5 for accuracy because it has to be one of the most accurate of this type.. For example my BP9cc is slightly more accurate, but has far less of a blowback feel. This gun generally hits where Im aiming, a little up and to the left, but only a little. Its really pretty, solid and heavy. Gotta love putting that second mag in and letting the slide go.

    Things I would have changed:

It sounds like something is rattling inside of it.. no big deal though.

    What others should know:

I suggest getting an extra mag so you can do mag changes

    Things I liked:

I have waited a life time to own a BB pistol with the features of this Swiss arms 1911 blow back C02 gun. Most accurate smooth barreled gun I have seen. 3/4" groups at 15 feet. This gun's blow back system helps the shooter manage recoil and recover for follow up shots. Very realistic to the 45 ACP 1911 type guns. Every function is as I had hoped for to simulate the real gun. Indoor practice is convenient, cheep, and beneficial to those desiring to stay familiar with their real firearm, when conditions don't allow using the real gun. 4 lb trigger pull adds to its value and accuracy. So pleased with the quality of this all metal gun, I bought 10 more for friends, relatives and an extra one for me. Beautiful silver finish . Love it.

    Things I would have changed:

The rear sight loosens, due to the battering of the slide during recoil. A set screw, installed in the sight, could prevent the sight from working loose. The magazine follower can lock back at the point where BB.s are to be inserted. While it is retracted, feed one BB at a time, into the face of the top end of the magazine, and press the bb into the opening, using the edge of a credit card between the polymer guides. a sudden snap will be heard as the bb enters the magazine. After all BB.s are inserted, release the follower by pressing on it till it clears it's "locked" position, and presses on the BB.s, while under spring tension. No loss of finger nails with this method. so easy.

    What others should know:

I plan to have a life time of fun with this gun. I will keep several on hand, in case I wear out the one I am shooting. I have tried and retired 35 different pistols. This will remain at the top of my list of favorite air guns. A must for Law enforcement practice, every day, in the privacy of your own home. Great for beginners, to prepare them for safely handling real fire arms.

    Things I liked:

Pyramyd Air shipped this fast. Upon first glance as you open the box this looks pretty realistic. I had to do a press check to make sure this was a CO2 pistol, that is how right it feels in the hand. I was afraid that the plastic grips would be inferior, but honestly these grips look like some of the stock wood grips I've seen come from Colt over the years except for the medallions.

    Things I would have changed:

Its fine the way it comes, the rear sight needed a tiny tap to correct the windage.

    What others should know:

Don't go too easy trying to screw in that first CO2 cartridge, do it quickly, and don't forget that drop of Pellgun oil either. Now load it, shoot it, and have a big smile on your face. Do have an adequate backstop if using it indoors. As always don't forget safety glasses; you don't want to be a Ralphie do you?

    Things I liked:

This is the tricked out version of the GI version by Swiss Arms. Like the GI version this one is really nice. The fit and finish is superb and it feels good in the hands. The blow back action is terrific feeling and the trigger is decent. It out shoots me. I found there to be no issues as to performance and i get good groups with the Smart Shot BB's in my basement range. Looks like the real deal and i doubt most people could tell the difference.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing really but a nice pellet version with rifled barrel would be really sweet

    What others should know:

Nothing really..... you can't go wrong for the price and Pyramyd Air is great to deal with. The first one i received had a fracture at the back of the slide and they took it right back and replaced it with another one and they redid the 10 shots for 10 dollars as well. I've had great dealings with Pyramyd and it keeps me coming back to add to my growing collection of replica air guns.

Looks great. "Grain" in the grips and their wood look are far better than can be shown here in pictures. Very attractive and well functioning example of the KWC manufactured 1911. Love the tactical look, trigger, beavertail grip-safety, and sights.

    Things I would have changed:

Would love all these features minus the picatinny rail. Just a preference; nothing wrong with it.

    What others should know:

Front of the barrel is threaded and comes with a threaded adapter for a fake silencer.

    Things I liked:

This BB gun feels and functions just like a real 1911...except for the recoil. So far it has performed flawlessly. The metal surfaces are not painted, so there is no paint to wear off. I was pleased and a bit surprised by the accuracy of this gun, considering that the barrel is not rifled. I got a 6" group centered 8" low at 75', a 5" group centered around the bullseye at 45'. and 3" groups centered around the bulls eye at 30'. All this was free hand...no bench rest. I am impressed.

    Things I would have changed:

It comes with a threaded barrel to accomodate a fake suppressor. I think the suppressor is unnecessary, so I wish the end of the barrel did not have visible female threads.

    What others should know:

I load 15 BBs in the magazine, not 18, to make sure the follower does not get stuck. Also, it shoots about 60 rounds with an Umarex CO2 cartridge, so the math works out well.

    Things I liked:

Very good appearance, decent trigger and solid blowback action. Pretty close to the real thing - and I own seven 1911 pistols in 3 different calibers.

    Things I would have changed:

Unlike others posting reviews, I am not impressed with my gun's accuracy and its point of impact relative to the point of aim - 3" high and 1" left at 20 feet. That's a sight problem that can't easily be fixed. The accuracy problem stems from the extremely loose fit of the slide to the frame - and there's no way to fix that. The slide can be lifted vertically 1/32 of an inch from the frame and can be rocked from side to side 1/16 of an inch.

    What others should know:

My primary use for this pistol is practicing my draw from the holster and delivery of the first shot. This pistol fits one of my standard Gov't model holsters quite well and its weight is close to the real thing. Since I carry my 1911s "cocked and locked", I can practice the entire sequence in my apartment on a regular basis - usually twice a week.

Adjustable rear sight and possibly real wood grips
