    Things I liked:

It seems to be a good accurate rifle, shoots tight groups if hold it steady. It has been very enjoyable to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:

The bolt is a bit stiff at first, but tends to move easier with use. I must admit I have only fires a dozen round as yet, but now i noticed that after that dozen shots my tank pressure has dropped to just above 2000 psi. I am trying to get help from PyramidAir but the or closed on weekends so will see what happens next.

    What others should know:

Seek out reviews and customer reviews. I went with an electric pump after watching a few videos where a hand pump was used. The only reson I did not give this rifle a five star overall rating is due to the slow leak it has.

    Things I liked:

I'm throwing down the Gauntlet! Or should I say, I'm picking up the Gauntlet and really really liking it :-) I've been a break barrel guy for a looooong time. Thought I would check out the pcp side, did some research and ended up with the Gauntlet. The synthetic stock does NOT feel cheap/hollow. It feels substantial in hands, which i wad a little worried about initially. Great trigger out of the box, and its further adjustable. I went with the .22 and it's an absolute tack driver, hole in hole with JSB 18.13gr, absolutely incredible. Very smooth shooting, I can actually see my shots as I'm shooting on paper. I did have an initial issue with first hand pump fill, was building up pressure at the pump, but not opening the fill valve to let air in. Went online and read that firing a shot or two before the fill might help open the valve for filling. It did and now filling up every time with no issue. The bolt is a little stiff, but use thumb leverage, all is good!!

    Things I would have changed:

For the $$$$ and then some, this thing is a BEAST. No changes needed IMO.

    What others should know:

If you're on the fence, get off and buy one!

    Things I liked:

Great Airgun - New pricing I still love it after 4 years and have done numerous mods which have been cheap and easy. Gun is currently setup to shoot JSB 15.89 at 900fps. This produces sub moa out to 50yds. Many parts are from the QB airgun line. (I have a QB78D and like it for its' accuracy) The trigger of the Gauntlet is an excellent design but mine needed a little cleaning and polishing. The trigger is a "drop sear" design which is great in that it is adjustable and is not affected by the weight of the hammer spring.(A heavier hammer spring does not affect trigger pull) I probably spent about $100 setting mine up the way I wanted it. Larger air tank, bipod mod, hammer spring adjuster, unneeded and unused forward barrel band. Sub MOA, 30 FPE, refined trigger, 80 regulated shots per fill - sweet!! Another plus is that it uses Marauder mags which are both cheap and reliable.

    Things I would have changed:

My Gauntlet is an early version and I think quality control then was not as good as now. Early QC problems were poorly finished breech lead( zero cost fix) heavy hammer spring(cheap fix). Some early units had poorly fitted muzzle deflectors which affected accuracy - mine didn't, it was accurate from the start. If Umarex wouldn't replace it, they cost about $25

    What others should know:

This gun may not suit everyone as it comes out of the box. But, it is a tinkerers delight. Mods are cheap and easy. Current pricing is typical for a model about to be discontinued - if interested better buy now

Accurate, cheap to shoot with Crossman Premier .22 cal Hollow Point 14.3 gr pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

Umarex Service dept if service is needed & quality control.

    What others should know:

Have 6 Umarex products. 4 of those 6 Umarex products had to be sent in for repairs or had to make repairs myself. This is the 3rd Gauntlet.22 cal I purchased before I got one that almost worked from factory. All were new. First one wouldn't air up. Second one worked ok & was doing well with it. Shot pellet & it dumped all air out of the tank at end of shot. Pyramid put this on sale after I said no more Umarex. Tried one last time with fingers crossed. No major problems yet.

It shoots pretty darned good . Seems pretty quiet to me .

    Things I would have changed:

I would make the stock one piece and put the front swivel where it should be .

    What others should know:

I had to shim my scope mounts to get it zeroed. The bolt is stupid hard, but it works. For the money I would do it again .

    Things I liked:

I love the 25cal Gauntlet. This thing is great. Its extremely accurate and consistent. it really likes JSB 2539s. The grip feels really nice. Its a thinner grip than the tree trunk on the Avenger (Im 6ft and not small hands). The trigger isnt that bad either. Its long and you can feel the trigger spring crunchin a little right before the break. It looks badazz. !!!!!!First Gen Gauntlet is KING!!!!!, Second Gen Gauntlet is JUNK. A little 1stGen loyalist humor. Ha Ha Ha! It really does suck when compared to 1stGen

    Things I would have changed:

I would lose that heavy bottle for a cylinder type tank. Like the one on the Avenger. The safety sucks, I dont even know how it works with the bolt cock. I think I broke through mine?? It should come standard with iron sights. I would offer them in choice of colors. They cant change the black to friggin ODG or FDE for cryin out loud, c'mon?

    What others should know:

When my Gauntlet arrived, every edge and the entire seam had a very sharp edge on it. I had to use a nail sander to remove it. These edges/seams were sharp enough to probably cut you, seriously. The bolt is rough. Hold it towards the inner part of the handle and that will make cocking it a little easier. It gets a little better with use. Theres some side2side in the trigger. Its not loose and jiggly and you dont notice it while shooting, but its there. This thing is Loud. Not backyard friendly at all. This rifle shoots Amazing out of the box. DO NOT think that if you buy this rifle youll have to buy all the Haji upgrades for it to shoot accurately. You dont need anything else. Just air, a scope and good pellets. This is a Great rifle and I have NO REGERTS(lol) about buying it. Get the 10for10 so you get it checked out before you receive it. That way you know theres no leaks and it fires correctly.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

It is cheap and reasonably accurate. Good intro to PCP air guns.

    Things I would have changed:

It feels and sounds just as cheap as you'd expect. The bolt is stiff to pull back and anything but smooth. You have to ram it forward to chamber a round which bruises your palm after 30 or so shots. It also sounds like a fart when firing (multiple hammer re-strikes).

    What others should know:

If you are a tinkerer, this gun is a great starter. From the crappy trigger to the multiple hammer re-strikes, this gun is ready for upgrading by a tinkerer. Accuracy is surprisingly good, however, so if you are a targeting nut, this will work for you. If you are looking to get into PCP airguns cheaply, this will do. However, the Gen 2 has improved many of the problems and is probably worth the extra money.

    Things I would have changed:

    What others should know:

My gun keeps depressuring itself to in between the yellow and green after 72 hours of fill. I am not sure if its supposed to do that but, its really annoying.

    Things I liked:

I ordered a Gauntlet for Christmas and it shipped promptly. I excitedly opened and did all the prep work to start shooting. I had researched the Gauntlet and felt it was a rifle I would love. It was supposed to be very accurate and lots of shot count per fill. Unfortunately the rifle I received was defective. I called Pyramyd air and they walked me through the return procedures. I was afraid that the info I had heard about the Gauntlet was hype not reality but I ask for a replacement. It took a while because it was the Christmas season but I eventually received the new rifle. I again proceeded to prepare the rifle to shoot and Wow it really is an amazing rifle. The accuracy isn't just hype. 5 shots to zero in and after that at 25 yards it's pellet in same pellet hole every time. Same result with different pellets so not pellet picky. I was expecting a decent rifle but not an exceptional one. Really glad I bought it.

    Things I would have changed:

It would be nice if it was tunable it increase the power but it is still an excellent rifle for the price.

    What others should know:

You can shoot inexpensive pellets and receive excellent results which is a huge plus in my opinion.

    Things I liked:

Not nearly as difficult as everyone makes it look to hand pump. Im 44 , work in construction it was really not bad at all. Really reminds me of a bigger heavier louder version of the umarex fusion2 which my kids and i really love.

    Things I would have changed:

Use the larger tank on this rifle its a 25 cal and could use some extra air Some folks complain about the bolt being difficult but it does break in after a while.

    What others should know:

Its heavy its loud and packs a punch. Id your in your back yard go overboard on the backstop. I use durorock and or hardiboard and plywood and 2x material.

    Things I liked:

It is very upgradeable . Throw on a bigger tank upgrade the reg visit hajimoto get the Jefferson tune up kit and adjustable back piece forgot what he was called and throw a lot of Donnie FL depressor with the barrel shroud with threaded extension you know what I'm talking about and you'll have yourself a mean silent slaughter machine . Don't forget a good quality optic and plenty of extra o-rings polish up the sear on the trigger there's no stopping you . With all the tune-ups on mine that I just listed above I get 120 shots with 14 green crosman hollow point at 890 ft per second with in a .22 it takes a while to get the pressure tuned in to match the pressure with the the burst discs you'll probably end up blowing a couple but that's okay he gets also you can get a lot of information on hajimoto site website but don't get the barrel band and don't get the baffles for the stock suppressor invest in a Donnie FL setup buy once cry once.

    Things I would have changed:

Well the cheap suppressor that came with it didn't come with a spring I called umarex and they gave me the runaround finally I caved in and sent me a spring but by that time I didn't need it anyway cuz I upgraded it the barrel band . Sucks and hajimoto's barrel band 3D printed sucks too so do his baffles don't bother it's a rip off . What you want to do is you'll notice that there's an a ring inside of the barrel band on one side or in the middle through the little hole on top you can see there needs to be two of those rings one on each side of the band to stiffen it up and to us to keep it to keep it centered so it doesn't get knocked out of whack every time you bump it. Some of the things that came on mine should have been fixed at the factory but umarex aren't exactly the most giving people when it comes to seals and other proprietary parts they don't give any to pyramid Air they really don't give any to anybody it's hard to find the OEM on line .do this and warranty is gone.

    What others should know:

Hajimoto . Jefferson air, Donny FL, and the air tank guy in hunting beach CA . Forgot the name of the business but he has tons of information to look him up on YouTube hajimoto will be able to tell you where to get the tanks and everything he's on YouTube also directions and the demonstration for the Jefferson air tune-up kit is on YouTube also

    Things I liked:

I like the large number of regulated shots I get from a full fill, and the consistency and accuracy are quite good. Mounted a day/night scope on it and it does a good job on rabbits, not so much on ground squirrels.

    Things I would have changed:

Things I did change - got a larger air bottle for even longer regulated shooting between fills. Also added a sling. Would like to have some control over the regulated amount of air so I could dial in a shots power (would help with the local ground squirrels who are a tough lot)

    What others should know:

Just remember - you will need a scope or red dot to aim this rifle - it is not set up with iron sights nor can it be reasonably outfitted with such.

    Things I liked:

I sighted it in at thirty-five yards and I was keyholing the shots. The adjustable trigger is nice. The sound levels are quiet, too.

    Things I would have changed:

I would change the bolt action to a side lever action and have the air capacity of the Gauntlet 2. I know the Origin has the side lever, but it also has less air capacity, and the Gauntlet 2 doesn't have a side lever action.

    What others should know:

There were two items missing from the rifle, the barrel band wedge and the cosmetic rubber spacer. I called Umarex and they are sending me those pieces. The barrel band itself was not only missing the barrel band wedge but was cockeyed on the rifle and up against the barrel shroud. It seemed like the screws weren't installed exactly straight on the forearm.

    Things I liked:

Value and accuracy. 100% reliability. I have owned the 177cal for years. Took it out this past weekend after leaving fully charged for 2 months. No leaks. 10.34 JSB for 100 shots. 868 average. 9fps ES. 2SD. This over 99 recorded shots on the Pro Chrono. No rifle I own comes close to that consistency.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

Only modification is the 360cc bottle. Joe Brancato didn't even adjust the Ninja reg. Bolt smoother over time. Most consistent rifle at any cost. If you can produce a rifle that shoots like this over 100 shots. I'll bet whatever amount you want on my $299.00 Gauntlet. And this is Stone cold. No shots taken to settle the reg.

    Things I liked:

It is regulated at 1100 psi in .22 so filling it up to 2300 psi will still give me a lot of shots per fill. It is light and accurate and has a single shot tray. I adjusted the trigger so it is excellent. The price is sweet.

    Things I would have changed:

The jacket for the tank doesnt fit very nice

    What others should know:

I received my gun and went out and shot it about 300 times with different pellets and didnt have any accuracy. I was ready to send it back. I called Pyramyd and talked to Greg about it and he gave me some ideas to try. So I took the shroud off and found the barrel to be loose. I made sure that the barrel was all the way in and tightened up the set screws. After that I adjusted the trigger. After all that I took it out and it shot great groups at 50 yards.

    Rating 3.03.0 3.0

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

It's a very accurate rifle. I'm not the best shot and I can shoot quarter sized groups using predator GTOs at 50 yards. plenty accurate for hunting purposes.

    Things I would have changed:

It not well balanced at all and this makes it hard to carry in the field, even with a sling. For those used to rimfire rifles, its much heavier and overall larger than say a Ruger 10/22. It's also awkward to fill as the gauge and the fill port are on opposite sides of the gun so you have to keep flipping the rifle over to check the air gauge.

    What others should know:

I bought two of these rifles in .25cal. One for me and one for my wife to hunt small game with. After 11 months mine has developed a slow leak in the fill port. From what I've read, it's fairly easy to fix, but it's ridiculous that a rifle would need repair after 11 months and less than one tin of pellets. It's definitely nowhere near the kind of quality I'm used to coming from the firearms world.
