me and my son think they shoots great, 40 yards groups of 1/2 inch, ocassional stray. shooting a gamo bigcat.Things I would have changed:
bring the price down or offer 250 @same price. better job on quality control. some fit snug others don't.What others should know:
weve taken squirrels and shot a racoon treed @ 30yards with no problems. drop the coon like I shot it with a .22.
very good penetration shot right through my wooden fence at about 20yards with my gamo big cat, but not very accurate pellet is all over the place cant get a decent groupingThings I would have changed:
the pellet often does not fit into the barrel and I have had a few stuck inside. difficult to load and a bit pricey.
Lead freeThings I would have changed:
I shoot them out of my Gamo Hunter 1250, Cant get close to being accurate with these pellets. They are super fast but what good does that do when you cant hit anything with them? What others should know:
I've bought tons of pellets the best ones I have found are the ballistic tips. They are accurate and penetrate very well.
Save your money.Things I would have changed:
My pellets. Buy something else. What others should know:
Bought a Gamo Big Cat. It came with 50 of these pellets and gave me the worst groupings. I purchased the Gamo Sampler Pack and the Master Pint and the Hunter were the best with this gun. All shoots in a 1" grouping. With the Raptor the hits were way high and scattered, hard time getting into the 3" circle. Worst I've used. Crosman Pointed are also good with this gun.
lead freeThings I would have changed:
more weight 10gr totalWhat others should know:
lite pellets can reduse the life of your magnum spring gun (the pellet leaves the barrel before full energy transfer ,piston slams) i dont sugest useing these for hunting yes i saw the clip at gamo were they killed the pig useing this pellet and i used the calculator on this site to messure energy at 1600fps 28ftlbs at 1200 16ftlbs but fired out my gamo cfx failed to penetrate farther than a crosman hunting point 7.9gr on my balistics gel target a beeman kodiak in a 1000fps rated gun gets about 760fps (14tlbs) went twice as far as the raptor crosman ultra magnum 4X as far
I really like the speed an power an it shows...I put a smaller soup can into another an preceded to pound one side with lead pellets with only penetration threw the first layer...I took one of these pellets an with one shot from my gamo delta shot threw both layers being stopped only by the other side of the cansThings I would have changed:
not a thingWhat others should know:
a bit pricy but well worth it
small package cleaned barrel after shot lead freeThings I would have changed:
whole thingWhat others should know:
25% more conpared to what? beeman laser most likely 6.5gr no punch more of a SLAP the pellet doesnt have the weight to drive thru or transfer energy (shock) its like a nail with out a hammer.... not going to far the pellets not all bad it did clean the barrel of my gun i did not test the accuracy low shock damage, low penetration, accuracy didnt matter the pellet needs severe reenginering to achive effective hunting use
the speed an the apparent power increaseThings I would have changed:
Great accuracy from my RWS Diana 34 (5/8 inch groups at 20 yards) and excellent penetration.Things I would have changed:
Larger quantity pellet packs. What others should know:
I bought into the hype finally and decided to try these new pellets. My standby pellet (Crosman pointed 7.9 grains) shot decent groups of 3/8 inch at 10 yards and the penetration was great, being 4 inches into wet phonebooks. The Raptor pellets brought my groups smaller, penetration was the same, although they punch a clean hole in 3/8" plywood, whereas the Crosman pellets leave an exploded exit hole. This leads me to believe that the Raptors don't deliver as much energy into the target.
they put more velocity to your rifle...Things I would have changed:
the price..What others should know:
that they are very good for hunting birds..
Well, they DO make a sonic crack as they break the sound barrier with my Gamo CFX.Things I would have changed:
Nearly everything. The alloy doesn't allow expansion, instead fragmenting as would glass. Being a harder alloy, they also poorly fit the breech, and I am sure allow considerable blowby of air, which will cause early instability and piston slam due to lack of a good seal. What others should know:
While Gamo's idea may have sounded like a good one at the time, it falls apart in the real world, and for all the reasons they cite as virtues for the Raptor. Supersonic pellets are unstable in flight due to the induced transonic shock wave. Also, Gamo grossly inflates the velocity figures by claiming their supermagnum Hunter Extreme can develop 1600-1650fps with this exact pellet. Well, folks, the Hunter Extreme doesn't even cross 1400fps, as chronographed on the blog entry. Gamo should stick to their more well executed products, such as the CFX and the Magnum, Rocket, and Tomahawk pellets.
