Air Venturi Stampede Pellet Trap

Sturdy and works well. I have not had a ricochet. Much more fun than paper targets, including the wild boar silhouette instead of geometric shapes.

Solidly built. Attractive. Nicely sized for stacking/constructing an indoor shooting arcade. Pigs will bounce back up with too much velocity or not auto reset without enough velocity, depending on distance. Scotch tape can be placed over magnets to help with reset. On 20 foot indoor range limit velocity 22/177 pellets to CO2/ break barrel pistols/revolvers or 3-4 pump rifles. Pigs will therefore not deform. Pellets may occasionally flatten/stick to pigs but occasional cooking spray eliminates issue.

This target/trap is well made. I just got it a few days ago and have used it none stop.

I think a caring handle on top would be nice.

The magnets for holding target down after they are hit is to strong. My fix was putting some painters tape on the back of each target. After putting the tape on them the center reset target works better. I know the magnetic bar might lose strength with time and the targets may not stay down as they should. As easy as putting tape on the back of the target was, it will peal off just as easy.

Stronger magnets are needed. I was shooting a HW50 .177 at 20 yds and the targets would go down and bounce right back up. I switched over to a FWB 300 with <600 fps and at 20yds would get an occasional bounce up, but 90% of the hits would stay down. Stronger magnets would fix this. The targets themselves seemed pretty sturdy. Didn't notice any deforming.

Wadcutters will stick to the targets which then requires you to pry them off with a paint scraper. A pain! Domed pellets did not seem to stick. If you are using this target at 20 yds or less you need a low powered AG. Something under 600 FPS, otherwise the targets will go down and bounce right back up.

I have had the Stampede since soon after it was offered. I have shot it with .177 pellets with the Walther Lever Action, the Umarex Lever Action and the Crosman 1077 rifles. My favorite pistols are 2 Colt SAA CO2 7 1/2 inch pelletrevolvers. They all work well for the target and have not caused damage for about the 2 years. I have not used any guns over .177. The target is light enough even for my 70+ year old arms to move it. I use it in my backyard and basement. It is great fun!

Add a rounded handle to the top of the target to make it even easier to move. Make the paddles thicker to make them stronger. Again, I have had no damage, but I have been very careful.

Use furniture polish as recommended by one of the letter writers. It works and the pellets may stick without it. When they stick, it changes function.

Just plain fun to shoot at, and no animals harmed

Its Pretty good the way it is.

I use fragmenting BBS so you dont have an accumulated steel BBS in the yard. The mowers dont Like them.

Really like the construction.

Would give it a higher rating but I have to improve my marksmanship in order for it to catch more of my pellets.

If you have the $$$ good investment otherwise you can make your own.

Endless hours of fun sharpening my skills. I love the center reset so I can just keep on shooting. Keeps pellets from going all over the place.

The animals (hogs based on how they look) do tend to bend somewhat easily. A bit thicker metal would help.

Easily disassembled and reassembled. After a full week of shooting, the targets needed to be hammered straight again. Minor inconvenience compared to the fun it provides.

Trap worked great for me for both my .177 pistol and rifle at about 30 feet.

It works, don't fix it.

The targets are made of soft steel they will dent ever so slightly but it does not hurt them. I assume the steel is soft to help prevent ricochet.
Before you shoot at them be sure to wax the thoroughly so the pellets don't stick to them. I used Pledge but I guess any spray wax will do.

And they dont always stick down and a lot of times they dont pop back up when hit I had to put tape on the magnets so they didn’t stick so well
