7 of 7 AirForce International Model 94 Reviews
It's lightweight, cocks easily, and doesn't seem particularly hold-dependent. Pretty good to lousy accuracy, depending on the pellet. These are my favorite...H&N Excite Coppa-Spitzkugel Pellets, .25 Cal, 24.54 Grains, Pointed, 150ct These had a 12" group at 30 yards...H&N Silver Point .25 Cal, 24.38 Grains, Pointed, 150ct
Things I Would Have ChangedI purchased this to use with iron sights only at around 30-50 yards. You've heard of scope droop, yes? This has iron-sight droop. The vertical height adjustments are not at all positive, meaning if you actually could sight it in at a reasonable sight height, the slightest bump to the elevation dial would move it. With the elevation dial all the way to the top (ridiculously floating in the air), I could not get any closer to point of aim than 6" low at 30 yards. Unacceptable. I did my research, and based upon another reviewer, I bought...Hawke Sport Optics Airmax 3-9x40 AO Rifle Scope, AMX Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1" Tube, and super-grip rings...BKL Single 1" Triple Strap Ring, 3/8" or 11mm Dovetail, 1.53" Long, Black. After mounting the scope, I realized it has scope droop problems too. I had to elevate the reticle all the way to the top of the adjustment range to be on target at 30 yards, but I couldn't stop the rings from creeping back on the receiver during recoil.
What Others Should KnowThis took a full 5 months to get to me, NOT 4 weeks. No stars were removed for this, and Pyramid Air was very helpful and responsive as I asked for an update every couple months. I think I'll remove the scope, hope the internal adjustments aren't damaged by moving the reticle to the top of the adjustment range, and give the rifle to a teenager I know.
Light weight, easy cocking, beautiful trigger
Things I Would Have ChangedStock screws and four end screws are easily buggered
What Others Should KnowTruly a go to gun, stock being synthetic does not easily scratch, accuracy to 30 yards is great and it is so light you can carry it all day.
I just bought one of these straight from Air Force because they gave me a military discount. I have installed a center point 4X16 40mm scope on it. I had a hatsan edge vortex and it hit hard but without a doubt this one will punch through 5/8" plyboard every shot using 25.39 grain Exact Kings at 33 yards. I tried the 19.91 grain pellets but it didn't seam to like them much. This gun will kill. I also tested it for range and it will shoot out to 110 yds and still have enough energy to put down small animals
Things I Would Have ChangedI would raise the cheek rest about an inch or so, it is fine for the open sights on the rifle but when adding a scope it is low.
What Others Should KnowFrom what I have seen so far this is an excellent rifle, and the price <200 is very likeable.
The AirForce International 94 .25 cal is what I would call a "working man's" break-barrel air rifle. It's the kind of gun that's begs to be taken to the woods. It's light, quiet, maneuverable, and simply a joy to shoot. It cocks as easy as my Walther LGV with a trigger that is equal to that of my LGV. But this baby packs a punch and has the recoil to prove it. I had to move up to BKL triple-strap rings to hold my scope in place (see pics). I've also destroyed one scope and will probably move up to a 30mm scope if and when I destroy the one I have on it now. The rifle is capable of tight groupings of around 1.5 inches (+/-) at 30-35 yards with good quality pellets. Accuracy will begin to decline after that. The rifle is sturdy yet lighter than one would expect. I removed the synthetic stock and added a wood stock with only minimal increase in weight. The wood stock adds even more to the sense of quality in this air rifle. It's the perfect gun for short to medium range pests.
Things I Would Have ChangedIn the price range of this break-barrel air rifle, there's nothing much I would change except maybe some scope-stops up top. The cutouts that are there now are not scope-stops at all from what I was told. They are access points for lubrication. Silly me.
What Others Should KnowI've tried a multitude of pellets through this gun and am currently using JSB Match Diabolo Exact King 25.39 Grains, domed with acceptable results. The wood stock also seems to have helped in hold stability while using free hand style. Overseas, the AirForce International 94 is called the Cometa Fenix 400 Galaxy. The wood stocks used on the Cometa Fenix 400 will fit this air rifle perfectly.
WOW! This is the most under rated break-barrel on the market today. The trigger is "Match Grade" and breaks under 2 lbs out of the box. Also this is a spring piston and you would never know it. Absolutely no "Twang" or spring noise what so ever. I have never experienced such a solid spring piston. Also the barrel locks in very solid with zero play.
Things I Would Have ChangedPut a softer rubber but pad on the stock. The one it comes with is really hard and does not absorb much, if any of the recoil. Also add a Picatinny rail for a scope mount. The dovetail is inadequate for such a heavy recoil. The fiber optic sights are ok but could be a bit smaller in diameter.
What Others Should KnowThis is a great gun and has one of the best triggers on the market today. It is easy to adjust. Seriously, I own over 100 air rifles and this trigger is as good if not better than all. I own both the .25 cal and the .22 cal. The .25 cal shoots a little over 700 fps with the 19.91 gr pellets. The .22 call shoots in the low 800 fps with the 14.3 gr pellet. The guns are really easy to cock but they do have a substantial recoil which will destroy a cheap scope. I suggest a 30mm scope, maybe a UTG with the "TS" rating. I only have about 200 rounds through each. They group about the same. Shooting quarter size groups, with the occasional flyer, at 20 yards. This has to be one of the best guns for the money!!!!
Light, smooth cocking .25.not the most powerful but very accurate. Trigger is very light and smooth. Has a bigger bore than my Hatsan .25's so I shoot JSB king heavy pellets. Chronographs at 500fps with them.

Swapped this out for another break barrel I had issues with. Pyramyd made good on the exchange. Nice air rifle. Sights need a lot of elevation adjustment out of the box so anticipate that . Windage was almost perfect out of the box. Put a 3 x 9 -32 UTC scope on it. The mount is still walking a little but I'll sort that out in time and get it secured better. Be advised the scope mount stop pins on U392AODT2 are too large to index into the rail holes. Not the mounts I am using as I have a one piece on it currently. They shipped an extra spring with mine, nice. Rifle is light, comb is okay, cocks much easier than a Hatsun 135 QE but that is a bear to cock. Less powerful but still hits pretty hard in 25 cal. Accuracy with iron sights is very good and that translates to scoped. Groups inside a 1" circle at 20 and 30 yards. Drops about 3/8" at 30 on a 20 zero. Likes Exact King Diable 25.39 and Air Arms Diablo 25.4 in that order. Both do well. Handles great, good go to pellet rifle
Things I Would Have ChangedLarger holes for scope mount stop pins in the 11mm rail.
What Others Should KnowGood carry type for small game. Recoil is good as springer's go. Trigger is simply great and light. Your scope will need a lot of elevation adjustment too but I did not need a dropper mount.
