My best friend bought me a recon tanto a few years back I'm an avid knife collector with hundreds of knives and by far my recon is the absolute best knife I've ever owned durable and absolutely gorgeous put through unbelievable work loads where any other knife would be destroyed this on still looks and is sharp as could be I've treasured this knife since day one now unfortunately my best friend is no longer with us so now I treasure it even more thanks cold steel for the best knife ever
Bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend. Boy was he surprised. He is a knife freak and didn’t have a Tanto in his collection. This is a great knife and he was very impressed whit the strength and sharpness. Check out the You Tube videos.

This is the second Recon Tanto I've owned. Lost the first one. It's sharp, great at chopping, sliceing, poking holes, everything I've tryed this knife excells at. It's only drawback is when trying to use it as a pocket knife, it's a little too big even for my large pockets.
This is my first Cold Steel blade and my new favorite knife. It's the sharpest out of the box blade I've ever seen. Feels great, looks great and performs perfectly. It's made a believer out of me, highly recommended.
I bought this to replace my old weathered knife that was part of my combat gear from my time in service and am I ever glad I did!! The feel, balance, and quality of this blade is a welcome addition to any battle rig and will never let you down. I was introduced to the benefits of a Tanto point in the early 2000s and now they are the only style knives I tend to carry these days. If you are looking for a good all-around combat/survival knife, with the possible exception of Cold Steel's excellent SRK model, this is the one for you!!
I have an olive farm in southern Spain and this is my every day carry (on the farm) for the last 5 years. It gets used for everything; hacking small branches off, splitting logs (using another short trunk as a hammer), prying metal plates up, chipping away old concrete, cutting rope/string/cord, defending against vicious wild boar (!). Whilst some of the black finish has worn away, this still sharpens to a keen edge and will definitely go on for years. Excellent value for money.
I absolutely love this knife. This is the knife. I want to have on my side when the zombie Apocalypse hits. I can't wait. No seriously.
