If you're not the only one who wants to use the gun, then this is a great way for kids and other adults to shoot your airguns by allowing multiple user-specific changes.
Crosman states that they got a 5-shot group at 10 meters measuring .375 inches. If you use 7.9-grain pellets, you'll get 750 fps. If you use a heavier pellet, like a 10.5-grain pellet, you'll get 650 fps.
When buying a scope for your gun, think about how you plan to use it. You may need to buy 2 scopes -- a pistol scope and a rifle scope.
Why are 2 transfer ports included?
Your gun has one transfer port installed, but there's also a smaller one included. The larger one delivers higher velocities and fewer shots per fill. The smaller one delivers up to 550 fps and up to 70 shots per fill. The lower velocities are for silhouette matches that require lower power to prevent damage to metal targets. This is not something that should be swapped back and forth. You must have a Crosman repair station make the swap. Crosman recommends sticking with either the large or small transfer port and not repeatedly swap between the two.

*Because of the compactness of this gun/stock combo, a compact scope may be the best option. The compact scopes linked to this gun have Weaver rings. If you choose to buy one of those scopes, remember to also buy UTG 11mm (3/8") Dovetail to.... They'll snap into the scope's Weaver rings and adapt them to the 11mm dovetail built into the gun.

I was looking for an accurate, light weight and adjustable airgun that could be used by adults or children. I wanted something for target shooting, pesting and plinking. I found it with the 1720T Tactical... After doing some chrony work, I started to sight my scope in at 10 yards by putting 3 shots in the same hole. I couldn't believe it. I think I found a keeper. I hope to get good results at 30 yards when it warms up. It has the best trigger I've ever shot. I use a pump and it takes around one pump per shot. Thirty shots AA 10.3gr pellets from 2700 to 1700 psi average 635 fps, ES 23 and SD 6.

This is an excellent value. I bought it for the grandchildren (ages 8-13) and it is just right. Light, short, easy to handle and use. Accuracy was better than expected out to 40 yards. The trigger was a little heavy for kids but easy to adjust. I have a very nice red dot on it and it is shoots pretty spot on from 14 to 35 yards.
Things I Would Have ChangedNot really very suitable for adults especially for the price. Cheaper and better pesting options and this is way too small and light for much serious use. It could be handy for introducing a nervous friend to the sport or around a camp. I was turned onto it by a fellow who bought it as a first rifle and used it one day before realizing he needed something totally different and sized for adults to be a good match at all for him and his wife. But overall, dandy for kids.
What Others Should KnowBe aware of bolt placement and take steps to get is switched based on where you want it (rifle or pistol use). It bought the Pyramyd service to have it switched, however, and they failed to perform the service. Got a refund and had a local technician perform the work but that was not the point. It really was not ready to go out of the box.
