New grip and pump-lever configuration, same great pistol!
This classic air gun combos comes with the shoulder stock.
If you want to buy a pistol that's a "sure thing," then get this new 1377 American Classic. If ever there was a pistol that would please just about any shooter, this is it. Because it's a multi-pump, you can use it at whatever effort level you're at. Can't pump it 10 times? That's okay, because you can still have fun with just 3 pumps. With that type of variability, the 1377 is perfect for the family that shoots together. Every shooter can use the gun at his own level.
This pistol comes with a blade front sight and a fully adjustable rear. The clever rear sight can be turned 180 degrees (vertically) to switch between a peep sight and a notch sight. A screw secures the rear sight to the configuration you select.
Although the 1377 doesn't come with dovetails for optics, you can mount a pistol scope or dot sight if you buy the 459MT intermount. If you upgrade your pistol with the steel breech option, then you'll have 3/8" dovetails and won't need the intermount. The upgrade removes your rear sight, but there's a kit version that includes a 2-dot rear sight that fits on the 3/8" dovetails.
The grips and pump handle are textured to give you a firm grip. The newly designed pump handle has a handy concave indent for holding it, and that makes pumping just a touch easier.
With traditional Crosman reliability built into this pistol, you'll be enjoying it for many years and passing it along to your heirs.
Your 1377 American Classic pistol is suitable for plinking, popping paper targets, hitting spinners and killing tin cans.

I have 5 different pellet guns including a 45 year old 1377 that still gets used weekly. I have to say this line of products is astoundingly strong, simple in design and a great value. The first two pellets shot from this new 1377 dispatched a rabbit feeding on my landscaping. I have to say, that is the best form of review for any pellet gun. Since that debut, 4 squirrels and 5 more rabbits have taken their leave of this earth; all with the least expensive pellet gun I own and shot just as it arrived from the seller. Unbelievable.
Things I would have changed:I would change any restrictive law that bans shoulder stocks for pistols because how in the world could better accuracy be a bad thing?
What others should know:This 1377 is very lightweight, very accurate, very simple. Even without the should stock it shoots extremely well and because it is so affordable it ought to be in every pellet gun owners collection and used, often. I have shot 6 different pellet styles through this gun and they all work beautifully.

What is the amount of force required to pump this pistol?
Increases with each pump. A little easier than the Crosman 66, a lot harder than the Daisy 880. Maybe someone that has measured it can give a better answer.
will the pump arm on the new crosman 1377 fit the older 1377?
You'd have to call Crosman to ask. 1-800-724-7486

Accuracy is amazing. Actually surpasses even my high standards (I expect dime size groups at 10 meters). I purchased the steel breech at the same time, but gave this a try out in stock (plastic breech) form. Yes it shoots better than my abilities at 10 meters straight out of the box. This pistol is not pellet fussy. Carbine stock is robust and does not flex, and I actually like shooting with it. Indoors at 10 meters it only requires 3 pumps to get where it needs to go. Sights are usable, and I actually liked the peep sight (despite have 56 year old eyes). Pistol is quite enough for my basement indoor range. SO many mods available for this pistol, that it could become one of the most expensive guns you own.
Things I would have changed:Plastic breech limits sight options. Trigger is a real let down. I modified mine right away (plenty of videos telling how to compress the spring) This actually makes the trigger 100 times better. My pump cup was DRY DRY DRY. I have put no less than 15 drops of oil on it to get rid of the squeak. I would add a couple drops of Pellgun oil, pump and shoot 25 rounds and the cup and wiper where DRY. Finally after several 100's of shots it is staying lubed and the squeak is gone. Crosman should really lube these from the factory (the bold probe was well lubed). Steel breech kit is not cut and dry to install. Took me 45 minutes to complete properly and get everything working.
What others should know:I have 3 PCP pistols, 2 PCP rifles, 2 single stroke pneumatics, 2 non working and 1 working multi pump rifles, and a break barrel air rifle. I have to say this is so much fun to shoot. All I need is a target and a tin of pellets and I am good for the day. I have a red dot installed right now, but this pistol has the accuracy to warrant a scope and will get one soon. The steel breech make loading the pellets a challenge as the pellets get hung up in the breech screw hole (lots of solutions for this are available online). A little trigger work pays off with large dividends. If your looking for a cheap do all pistol (plinking, target, and close range pesting) then this will tick the boxes. Even if you don't think you will use the stock, get it. They are $16 when bought in the kit, and at least $20 when bought separately. Heck you can resell it for a gain if you don't like it.
