Description

A classic redesigned. But it's still the same great air pistol America has revered since it was introduced in 1998.

With the variability of using from 3 to 10 pumps, the Crosman P1377 American Classic air pistol is perfect for the family that shoots together. Every shooter can use this gun at his own level.

This pistol comes with a blade front sight and a fully adjustable rear. The unusual rear sight can be changed from a peep to a notch sight simply by loosening a screw.

You can mount a optics if you buy the optional 459MT intermount. You can also have 3/8-inch dovetails on your pistol by upgrading to the steel breech. Although that upgrade removes your rear sight, there's a kit version that includes a 2-dot rear sight that fits on the dovetails.

Your 1377 American Classic pistol is suitable for plinking, popping paper targets, hitting spinners and killing tin cans.

New grip and pump-lever configuration, same great pistol!

I purchased this model with the attachable stock from Pyramid Air. I like the convenience of the onboard pump so I never have to worry about running out of air or CO2. I also like the accuracy. I'm consistently hitting bean cans at 27 yards with open sights (taking a course bead) and 6 pumps from my shooting bench. It's also very steady off hand with the stock and I consider it my poor man's bullpup. My grandsons love this gun, but I have to pump the gun for the younger one. The barrel is straight, true, clean, and nicely crowned. The trigger is crisp and surprisingly light for the price point.

For my use and for the price I don't find anything I'd like changed. Pumping gets a little tiresome so I'm thinking of ordering the CO2 version of this gun.

Velocity readings per number of pumps shooting the Crosman 14.3g hollow point: 3 pumps--308'/s, 5 pumps--388'/s, 6 pumps--418'/s, 8 pumps--456'/s, 10 pumps--477'/s. Max muzzle energy is 7.2'# which is enough for taking out rats at distance and rabbits and squirrels close in with well placed shots.

Always love these plinkers. I have Crosman custom shop .22 caliber and wanted a .177 to go with it. Since there is zero stock at the custom shop, I bought this. Works just like the custom shop one.

Things I didn't like that I changed: I installed a metal breech and LPA rear sight. I installed a 14.6" match barrel and tko muzzle. Now it is just like my custom shop air gun.

I used to own one of these when I was in high school, mine had wooden handles and pump. The chamber and cocking mechanism was different. So far so good.

Go back to wood stock and offer the old chambering mechanism again. The stock that came with it also didnt fit snug and has some play in it.

The look and style. Durable and easy to take care of with a rag and Pellgun oil. Upgrade options. I love the medalist 1322 & the new P1322 and didn't plan on buying the .177cal. version but a near half price sale at a store mmade me consider it, and I have no regrets!

Charge more for the metal breach version.

The more I use my 1377, the more I wonder why I didn't try out the .177cal version much sooner! My two 1322's are too loud to shoot inside my apartment, but not this 1377! It has been a blast shooting at 10m pistol targets in my bedroom. It is still fun even from 15 feet :) All in all I think that the 1322 is the best all round air gun, but the 1377 is a close runner up!

Easy pump action. Easy to load. Variable power. Feels solid.

Get rid of the plastic breach, grips and fore stock. Better sights with easier adjustments and a front blade that has some contrast against the rear notch. I'm old and my eyesight is not what it once was. Better trigger would be nice as well. It's a bit stiff at the moment but I have only fired it about 20 times so far.

Good bargain for the money. I need to play with it more to see if it's just me or the pistol. Accuracy is not where I would like it but I think it's me. It was way better from a rest than free hand. This pistol can be modified into just about anything you want it to be. Tons of aftermarket goodies and modifications. I recently got bit by the airgun bug and now I have purchased 3 rifles and this pistol in the last couple of months. Having a hard time finding the time to shoot as much as I would like. Have a Umarex Octane in .22, a Gamo accu177, and a Daisy 880 that started my second childhood thing I have now. It's amazing what the adult airgun industry has to offer these days. Way more to choose from than I had 45 years ago. It's been a blast playing with these in the back yard and I may be in trouble with my new addiction. Currently eyeballing a Diana 52. I love the under lever Accu and feel my coleection would not be complete without a side lever and at least one nice piece of wood.

Very good solid feel seems to be well made

I would put the steel breach on 1377 instead of the plastic breach

You might think about the rifle stock if your new to pistols

Very good quality for the money Plastic stock really does have the look and feel of wood Very lite to hold 10 pumps will drive a .177 pellet through an aluminum pan at 25 ft, so no problem picking off a squirrel, and other varmits. withih a reasonable distance.

The pistol is fairly accurate out of the box. For better accuracy, consider buying a red dot sight and adapter for mounting it on the pistol.

Unless you're after bear or deer, this might be the only air pistol you would ever need. It's even better if you add the shoulder brace that is available separately. If I had a son, I would buy him this air pistol as his first air gun.

Variable Power, Relatively low noise, comfortable hand grips, solid construction, Easy, smooth operation. Barely noticeable recoil. The basic design has stood the test of time and will continue to do so for decades to come.

The screw for elevation adjustment is small, short and course thread. I would have dsigned it to be slightly longer to avoid having to remove it to switch sites. As is, here is some information on how to work with it. When switching between pinhole and open sites, the screw must be removed and reinserted. MAKE SURE TO RETHREAD THE SCREW PROPERLY TO AVOID STRIPPING THE SCREW HOLE. To do this, insert screw into hole and turn counterclockwise until it sets into existing thread. Then turn clockwise until snug. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. The existing screw hole is plastic.

When I picked this gun up, I had a chance to compare it to the Pumpmaster Classic (PC77). The advantage to the pumpmaster is the forward grip is slightly wider and easier to grip/operate when pumping. The advantage to this model, and the reason I chose this model is the front blade is more secure while the pumpmaster blade does not extend as far back onto the barrel and freely twists out of alignment ever so slightly.

Both models are also prone to a little bit of metallic flashing around the recessed screws at the back of the gun where the webbing between the thumb and index finger rest. A small, round metal file can be used to remove any small burrs that may have been left in the manufacturing process.

Overall, this is a worthy addition to any airgunner's collection and a joy to shoot. Don't let the plastic grips fool you. Standard care of this gun and proper storage ensure that you will be leaving this one to your grandchildren as a fully functional and cherished heirloom.
