I got this liner to shoot heavier slugs over 23gn. But my standard superior shoots just as good. And actually shoots a broader range of slugs and pellets than the heavy. But Ive not tried anything over 28 gn in the heavy,so maybe it will shoot those.
What Others Should KnowIf you have a standard superior liner and all your gonna shoot is pellets and slugs under 23 gn. Don't waste your money on the heavy liner.
I like fox products but disappointed in Pyramid Air.
Things I Would Have ChangedBuy from a different place.
What Others Should KnowThe barrel I received had pencil marks on it. It was apparently a return.

In my Maverick Sniper 700mm the Heavy liner allows me to shoot at higher velocities than the standard liner. This gives me a slightly flatter trajectory and allows me to shoot heaver slugs giving me greater stopping power on larger game and bringing the gun up to its potential.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe Heavy liner seems to work best with slug weights 26gr and above. And with velocities 930-1020fps. With higher reg. pressures. The Standard liner seems to cap out at 26gr and below. And velocities below 950 fps. (860-920 fps preferred). And with lower reg. pressures. Both liners have ammo, slug mfgs., weights they prefer and many they don’t prefer. I find each seem to prefer 3/10 slug combinations I try regardless of the tune. With the standard being easier to tune (probably due to lower reg. pressure), but when the heavy is tuned, it is a tack driver. My standard liner is preferring 0.217 slugs and my Heavy preferring 0.218 slugs, yours may vary.
What Others Should KnowIf you are not planning on pushing beyond 26gr, 930fps, 100-150 yards at 1-1.5MOA limit ever you may not want to consider this liner. The standard liner will serve you very well. I shot 26gr Jav. Gen1’s at 900 fps for a year sub-MOA at 150 yards with the standard liner. It was the only load that shot that well, but I also had several good loads at MOA and 1.5 MOA at 100 yards too with 21 & 23grs. All never exceeding 930fps. Fine for hunting. But If I need to push out beyond 150 yards the 26grs open up around 165 yards and become unstable and the 21&23 around the 120yard mark. With the Heavy liner I am able to use 28-31.2gr and reach out 150 to beyond 200 yards while keeping within the 1-1.5MOA range, slug depended. And I haven’t tested farther yet. Keep the velocities around 950-1000fps. The Heavy likes it faster than the standard. Slug your barrel for a diameter check, then buy packages of many different brands and weights of slugs to test.
