The FX Wildcat MKIII Sniper PCP air rifle with synthetic stock furthers the groundbreaking Wildcat legacy that defined the standard for bullpups and compact air rifles. This air rifle offers many improvements and new features, such as the rear power adjuster dial, with 7 major levels of preset hammer spring tensions, and additional refinement possible with an access hole at the 8th space on the dial, using an Allen wrench. In addition, the main block of the rifle received an upgrade via increased plenum size and improved valves for more power and better consistency.
This Sniper model gets more shots per fill compared to the Compact, and has more power with only .75 lbs. of extra weight and 7" of extra length, making it great for hunting and target shooting. At first glance, this airgun looks like the Wildcat MKII, and indeed shooters will find familiar Wildcat features, like the silky-smooth sidelever, externally-adjustable AMP regulator, and remarkably light adjustable two-stage trigger.
FX addressed one small shortcoming in the Wildcat MKII by adding a regulator manometer in the stock to go along with the air cylinder manometer. The Picatinny optics rail now comes standard, instead of the 11mm dovetail, and 1/2" UNF threading on the muzzle provides the option for an add-on moderator. In addition, the Wildcat MKIII uses the same FX Side-Shot magazine as the FX Dreamline and Crown, which more than doubles the capacity of the previous magazine. This air rifle comes standard with the new Superior STX liner. As with all FX models built with STX liners, this allows for liner and caliber changes as you see fit.
FX continues to pursue shooting perfection with their improvements to precision airgun engineering and development. If you want to enjoy the latest advancements in bullpup technology, buy an FX Wildcat MKIII Sniper PCP air rifle with synthetic stock now.

Fairly lite, the cocking lever placement is outstanding, it allows you to reload without having to take your eyes off your target and it has a very smooth act. It came with a hard case.
Things I would have changed:I would add a support between the air tank and barrel, tend to pick up my rifle by the barrel, which may not be a good practice, but once you add a scope and bipod, you are limited to how you handle your rifle. Which is not necessarily a bad thing it forces you to handle it with care.

The Wildcats are light weight and the stock makes it a joy to hold, it just has that feel like it's part of your body. Built quality, well it's an FX you need to say nothing else. It is very accurate and likes many different brands if pellets but the JSB 18.13's seem to do the best with the H&N's right there with them. I am so glad they changed the magazines to accept the same ones that the Dreamline and Maverick use as you can swap them back and forth between different guns of the same caliber. If they only made one rifle this is the one it should be.
Things I would have changed:The main gripes about the Wildcat and there isn't many would be they need a barrel band so that the barrel if bumped wouldn't flex as much as it does and the scope rail should have moa drop built into it like the others.
What others should know:In the FX line I have a Dreamline, and two Mavericks as well as the Wildcat now and I'm going to warn you right now this will be your go to gun and it will spoil you.

I just received my new MK III! Very excited on the one hand since it was a full 6 weeks on back-order. On the other, opened the box; read the manual (yes, I do); noted it had air pressure just above regulator pressure; cocked it and put on "safe"; cleaned the barrel from breach end with several pull through wipes; and then went to release the cocking lever while holding the trigger and letting the lever move forward. The trigger 1st and 2nd stage were beautiful! BUT it took a bit of force resulting in a noisy slap against the beautiful synthetic stock causing a "whap" to get the lever all the way back. After all the videos I watched on You-Tube, this behavior was not right since all reviewers said it was silky smooth cocking and return . So I looked for an adjustment to the over-centering cocking/return mechanism and found it. I loosened both set screws in the fully forward position to minimize any over-center positioning on the cocking lever. Still got the hard push-back on the lever and then still had the problem. Used bits of silicon grease on all affected components. Still the same cocking lever push back problem. Let sit overnight, same problem. Given the reviews, said to myself, "this was crazy". So THEN I retracted the set screws almost all the way out and the cocking rod gripper moved a few MM when the cocking rod was moved, revealing indents from the set screws in the rod! I moved the retraction rod block with the 2 set screws, now totally loose, so that the lever was all the way back and tightened them and recycled the cocking. Hallelujah!!! Full movement, no heavy push back at the end of the cocking cycle, trigger working beautifully, etc., AS I EXPECTED. Pyramid Air or FX should do a better quality assurance inspection before shipping.
Does anyone know the maximum pellet/slug length for the Wildcat magazine? I would like to start casting pellets/slugs and still use the magazine. Thanks and stay well everyone.
The original 8 shot wildcat mag is .385"-just shy of 10mm/.394 thick, a JSB .25 cal 33.95gr king heavy is .34"-just shy of 9mm/.354mm long. I don't have a side shot mag to measure!
Does the new FX Wildcat MKIII come with the Power Plenum installed?
No, read the 4th line in the 2nd description paragraph. They increased the internal plenum by 55 cc I believe.

The body and charging mechanism appears sturdy. It is quiet with a DonnyFL moderator
Things I would have changed:Massive issue: The barrel has flex to it. The chassis and scope are mounted solidly together but the barrel flexes, therefore destroying accuracy. My magazine kept falling out and it jammed. FX fixed it and mailed it back. FedEx lost it. They underinsured it. They were nice enough to replace it with the same model but with ai inferior moderator and scope. It wouldn't accept a charge. It is now back in their hands. Ugh.
What others should know:Pyramid air is a good vendor.
