History: got my FX .25 wildcat compact/Warcat edition over 2 years ago that came with the X-barrel as standard. Installed the Superior .25 500mm barrel on 6.5.20. I live in a slightly rural subdivision so shooting over 20 yards is shooting into my neighbor's yards. My yard pest control distances are 18 & 22 yards, 35yards across the street into a drainage pond, 50 yards is across the neighbors next door lot, and 90 yards across 3 unfriendlies. With the X-barrel, '0' POA was at 18 & 22, 35 was 1 over (scope) moa, 50 was 1-1/2 moa and 90 I don't remember because I'm 74 and losing it. Seriously! I think it was a 5 to 7 over because it was a miracle 1 kill shot on a ground hog. I was flabbergasted. I'm just learning trajectory concepts. With the Superior barrel, '0' at 18, 1 under moa for 22, 35, & 50! I can't do 90 yards per the above. I could not believe my results! Even emailed Pyramyd for an explanation. (running out of typing room here, see 'Anything else...' below.)
Things I Would Have ChangedIf it hadn't been for the internet, removing and/or replacing the barrel to shroud rubber o-rings would have been a problem. There should be some kind of instruction sheet for that, and which barrel end goes where. Also saw that on the internet.
What Others Should KnowThe PA guy gave me tons of good suggestion, like getting a FX chrono and all that but never really answered my question. Then I found a piece of paper that I had written down several months prior that had a trajectory from one of TED's holdover videos where he used a .22 instead of .25, but the holdunders were almost identical. Ted saved my sanity.
My only political statement of the year: please wear a mask, over your mouth AND nose. It may save you plus this old goat. Thanks for listening.
