I purchased this at the end of the season and haven’t used it yet.
Just received and installed on my feeder, hookup was ok needed instructions which were not in packaging but im sure it will keep the rechargeable battery charged up
I’ll give the solar panel 4 star but I think the rechargeable battery might not be that good. Battery brand new even after I charged it would discharge to 50 percent after a day of use. Solar charger brought it back up. Sometimes some days to 70 after feeder spins off it goes down to 50. I think solar panel great but battery might be defective. Btw I only have feeder set for once a day for 6 seconds. I think if I didn’t have charger battery would be dead by now. Battery is a Moultrie rechargeable battery.
Working great so far only had them installed for a couple weeks but my camera, feeder app show they are working. Easy to install on my Moultrie timers. Did NOT have to cut battery clips off, then reattach after I ran the wire like my others I bought which were not Moultrie. Very easy installation, just use one screw to attach to side of the feeder, remove the plug on the timer and plug it in. One solar panel kit I had to pull the wire a little through the grommet to reach the connector on the inside of the feeder. Be sure to try and face the solar panel towards the south. Only improvement could be a little longer cord.
Before you say your battery is charged 100%, disconnect the panel to check it. Fesder motor will not run on the solar power alone when shown 100%
Moultrie needs to develop a feeder with built in solar panel where the wires are protected from squirrels and raccons. I have had my feeders for years and have to replace the solar chargers very often because the wires got chewed into next to the connector and it cannot be spliced! I am an avid Moultrie user. I got two feeders and 15 Moultrie cameras. 10 are cellular. I like Moultrie
So disappointed from my previous Moultrie solar panel. It’s less substantial and doesn’t have the corrugated plastic protector on the cord and the cord is much shorter, which barely reaches the plug. I will update on the performance of the charge.
Works perfectly. Haven’t charged battery for over two years and still running at 100%
All wires on the outside of feeder should come with spiral s/s conduit to protect them from chewing pests, mainly raccoons!

Solar panel works as expected. Last on worked as expected but cord was chewed up by a raccoon. So good product at a great price.
