This CO2 pellet gun utilizes a nearly-identical look and feel to the genuine firearm because of its similar weight and full-metal construction. It features the original 1915 markings stamped into the body and was manufactured from the original blueprints. The black finish makes it look similar to a preserved or restored original edition of the actual firearm.
The airgun includes six pellet cartridges that look like actual cartridge shells, and it loads, shoots, cycles, and ejects the cartridges virtually the same way the original does. Classic Replica Design. Very realistic weight at 1 pound 11.8 oz. All metal construction with a very good weight and balance, Feels good shooting and is VERY accurate. Black color is very appealing and appropriate for this model of the Webley. 4" barrel is rifled. Fixed sites shoot at POA. Shooting using SA is very light at 7.0 oz. DA is heavy at 5 lbs 11.9 oz. but it does not feel like 5+ lbs because the action is so smooth you hardly notice the pull weight. Black grips are deeply grooved for secure hand-held shooting. Shooting this replica feels as though you were taken back in time to the early 1900s when British history was being made on the battlefield and in the streets as a police revolver, where the 4" barrel version was the weapon of choice for the police. I think you will love this pistol. It's as much fun as today's replica western revolvers.
Things I would have changed:Not much. This is a very accurate rendition of the famous Webley revolver. It feels much heavier than it actually is in weight and the trigger pull in single action is much lighter than you would expect. Webley & Scott have done a great job of reproducing the original design here. I can find nothing to complain about. I was not watching shots per CO2 cylinder but I managed 5 of 6 fills before replacing the cylinder so I would guess at about a conservative 30 to 40 shots per fill.
What others should know:I put this revolver through its paces using three pellet weights. Using 8.64 grain H&N Field Trophy pellets Max Velocity was 339 fps, Lo=332 fps, Mean=334 fps, SD=2.4 fps and fpe=2.21. Switching to Crossman 7.4 gr. Wadcutters Max V=381 fps, Min V=346 fps, Mean V=362 fps SD=11.7 fps and fpe=2.39. I generally try a light, non-metal pellet to see if the manufacturer's spec for velocity can be met and H&N Trophy Greens did the job; Max V=429 fps, Min V=409 fps, Mean V=417.2 fps, SD=7.05 fps and fpe=2.33. The advertised Max Velocity was easily met using the H&N Greens. This pistol seems to like the Greens. If you are a history buff and love revolvers, this one is a must for your collection. It is a slice of the past and a blast to shoot.
