    Things I liked:

I love this rifle I haven't got to shoot it enough to really put it thru its paces but what I have done is fantastic

    Things I would have changed:

It would be nice if air force could keep up with the demand for this product

    What others should know:

    It's worth the wait

    Things I liked:

First off, this is NO TOY! The only request I made from pyramid air was to look the gun over to make sure there was no damage, scratches or anything. They did so and shipped it ahead of schedule. It arrived well packaged, and undamaged. I am very critical of quality, especially at this price point and I wasn't let down. I have been an airgunner for 40 years and have had many air pistols and rifles, but from a design and quality standpoint this gun stands out from the crowd. Airforce seemed to have addressed every issue that has plagued airgun world for a long time, especially big bores.... The inline air supply is second to none, it needs to come from the rear! Second there cannot be ANY movement in the action when fired, it will damage the o-rings, solved. Easy to cock, yep. Can accept insane bullet weights, bonus.. Make your own, another plus! I called airforce probably a dozen times before I bought one, customer service is second to none, made in the USA sealed the deal!

    Things I would have changed:

    The manual is pitiful

    What others should know:

OK, so I get this beautiful gun, charged it up and fired some round balls, it seemed to pick up some punch. Then I wanted to cast my own bullets, not round balls as they are better off swaged. So I bought lead, a melting pot, and 2 molds. Lee .456 220, .457 340. I only weighed the 340's, 357gr. I learned a lot about casting, mostly by trial and error. The 456's weren't an issue, the bigger 457 were. But I overcame these issues. Made some real nice stuff, and lubed them up good. I tightened up the wheel with a broken toothpick, hooked up the tank to top it off. Had to run upstairs, had it on a real slooow fill. Accidentally went over 3000, not by a lot though. Had my professional high power bullet stop setup, rammed a 340 gr. in it and took aim. I had my butt against the wall, leaning forward, holding the gun with 2 hands in a relaxed manner. I pulled the trigger, and the recoil blew my 200+ pound upper body backwards. My head hit the wall and the scope smashed into my nose. DAMN!

    Things I liked:

I love this rifle. Quality is superb and this rifle will sound like a high powered rifle shooting the round balls due to breaking the sound barrier. I plan on adding more Air Force products to my growing PCP collection. This rifle has a trigger that is so perfect to me after trying to shoot break barrels and failing to shoot with them.

    Things I would have changed:

Some of the illustrations in the manual can be confusing. Have Air Force send me an email and I will tell them my thoughts.

    What others should know:

If you want to go big bore and you don't mind paying the price, this is the rifle to have.

    Things I liked:

Liked the power. It is also reasonably accurate (within my ability to maintain such accuracy).

    What others should know:

This is a really head-turner at the range! Very few have seen such a gun and are generally unaware of the significant power such an airgun can produce. Mostly been shooting 250 grain hollow-points... I cannot wait to try out some other ammo!

    Things I liked:

I am amazed at the level of pure enjoyment I have had with this rifle. It feels like a firearm and sounds like a firearm. Wow. I live out in the country so the loud report is not an issue. I have been shooting the 143 grain round ball at 50 yard target with one inch groups using the 4-12 Hawkeye scope. I'm ready to step up to heavier grain. I got the rifle for wild hog hunting in North Texas. I feel confident this airgun will be the one to help bring home the bacon.

    Things I would have changed:

I would like the Texan to have a clip like my Crossman Bulldog but I don't see this as taking away the pure enjoyment of shooting this awesome airgun.

    What others should know:

I know this has become a cliche but this is not your dad's air rifle. This is a serious air rifle that will only be limited by the shooter for distances out to 100 yards or more.

    Things I liked:

nice big rifle--extreme accuracy--with a couple of .457 swaged lead balls in hand it's quick to reload and fire several shots. not so loud as to cause ears to ring, but still loud. love this rifle. I hit a 2 inch circle off hand at 100 yds on my 1st shot after getting the scope sighted in.

    Things I would have changed:

not a thing--is great as is a bit spendy but worth it.

    What others should know:

uses air quite fast--you will need your own compressors, or (heaven forbid) a hand pump or some other means to fill this rifle tank.

    Things I liked:

Very accurate and comfortable to shoot. A quality weapon and I plan to use it to hunt pigs with. Time to reload and fire another round is fairly quick.

    Things I would have changed:

Would like to have a suppression system for it, one shot and all the game scatters. Would also like to be able to change barrels to different calibers. When can we be able to purchase a secondary quick lok tank to be able to have a back up. All the tanks I have seen on the web site say that they are for lesser calibers.

    What others should know:

I live in California unfortunately so I have to be able to use copper rounds only by 2017. I have found through Natchez shooting supply copper rounds in sabots that Airforce tech say are perfectly okay to use. The round that I have is 40 cal in a 45 cal sabot. I have just received my Texan and have not had the chance to hunt with it yet, but I can't wait. It should have great knock down power with the Barnes bullets.

    Things I liked:

The gun exudes quality, loads without effort, and is a real 100 yard gun. It is extremely versatile, and very air efficient, unlike other big bore, big power guns, and it's extremely accurate with the right ammo. The bigger the projectile, the louder the gun, the more kick the gun has. A 300gn projectile kicks like a 30-30. Ensure you have sufficient eye relief for the big bullets.

    Things I would have changed:

I've been shooting air guns for 45 years. I own the first commercially available PCP, and I've custom made several good guns. This is the best, commercially made, big bore air gun there is, period. AirForce engineers should all get a big bonus for designing this gun. Get a chronograph, otherwise your wasting your time.

    What others should know:

This gun does everything they said it would, even better than they said. It will shoot projectiles from 147gn to over 400gn with absolute authority. I have never adjusted the valve, and a 2900psi fill is all you need for the heaviest ammo. 2500psi is all you need to charge for 147-200gn. Earlier reviewer said the emptied their 88cuft tank; that would be very challenging to do in one days shooting, the gun is very economical with air. I suppose if it's tethered, and you shoot Bison/Elk bullets none stop, you will eventually run out of air, but not quickly. It is good to 100 yards with the right ammo. Untethered, charged to 2500psi, it will shoot 6 147gn round balls (Hornaday) with under 4" groupings, with 200FPE still left at the 100 yard mark. That'll pass clean through a deer. At 340gn, I get 3 shots in the same hole at 100yards, .75" grouping, 750fps, 425FPE, with 340FPE at 100 yards. That'll pass clean through a polar bear Ha Ha.

    Things I liked:

excellent air gun. Very accurate.. Recommend for hunting and target shooting. .

    Things I would have changed:

    a tad pricey.

    What others should know:

Ammo is more expensive than the smaller caliber guns.. Getting a source of compressed air to fill the gun reservoir can be difficult depending on where you live. It may require you to get your own high pressure compressor. Is louder than I anticipated coming close to the gun powder rounds.

    Things I liked:

This is an extremely powerful airgun and should not be used in urban or suburban settings. I use an AIRHOG 88 cu.ft. polycarbonate tank to fill the Texan. This rifle flat throws the lead downrange with authority. Not only is it hard hitting it is accurate to boot. The rifle is loud so I wear ear plugs and it does recoil so watch your eye relief. The Texan is very simple to fill, load and fire. Keeping 255 grain hollow point ammo in the 10 ring at 50 yards is no probem. My next trip to the range I'll be working at 100 yards with a 215 grain semi wad cutter. So far I've been able to get 55 full powered shots at 3000 psi before my AIRHOG drops to 3000 psi after refilling my gun. I've yet to get a handle on the pressure adjustment. Perhaps that will improve my air consumption. The rifle is well made. Fit and finish is great.

    Things I would have changed:

A threaded barrel for a sound suppressor might be nice, either that or a built in suppressor. A little bit of recoil padding on the butt stock would be nice as well. The Texan has a healthy recoil. Otherwise it is fine as it comes out of the box. Airforce can keep the fixed power scope. The gun deserves a good variable power low light optic. That was my first purchase after the AIRHOG.

    What others should know:

This is not a toy. Keep it away from the kids. This airgun can have roughly the same power level as a 45 Long Colt and the bullet I'm certain would travel quite a way on its own so be aware of your backstop. The Texan is more than capable of taking any game from a raccoon to a whitetail deer so it is as close to a centerfire rifle as you can get in a production airgun. One last warning... your buddies at the gun range will be lining up wanting to shoot it so take extra lead.

    Things I liked:

Plenty of power for all your needs. It has a safety part on the gun so if the bullet jams in the barrel and you shoot it, that the tank will empty all air besides blow up in you face. Takes cast bullets from .456-.458 even at .456 there is no loss in power at all. Its does have a kick to it so if you put your eye to the scope you will dot it. Took it to the shooting range and everyone that had rifles and shot guns there were crowded around wanting to know more about my Airforce Texan more then there own guns. It is a crowd pleaser that is for sure everyone wants to see and try Attention getter for sure. Very awesome well made air rifle!

    Things I liked:

WOW! I am thoroughly impressed by this rifle. The simplicity of the design, the light weight for the size, the ease of cocking / charging, the trigger, the automatic safety, the power, and the accuracy - all spot on! Very efficient with air once the bullet tuner is adjusted. Once you "go big" you'll never go back! Pair it with a good scope and you'll never want to shoot anything else. I have never used an AirForce rifle before this and they have a fresh convert. I may need to add to my air arsenal in the future - although something tells me the Texan will be my favorite of the bunch!

    Things I would have changed:

Make the frame with Weaver / Picatinny rails instead of 11mm dovetail. I know there are adapters but they either add height to the mounts or are prone to failure. The impacts to manufacturing costs / complexity are fully understood - it would definitely increase both. A carbine and / or a moderated version would be awesome as well.

    What others should know:

The custom big bore shops need to up their game as this rifle WILL take business from them (IMO). It definitely also turns heads at the range - a lot. I was shooting 143 grain .457 round ball (Air Venturi) at 50 yards and after getting the scope sighted in, I could hit the bulls eye at will. Adjusting the bullet tuner had a dramatic effect on the amount of air used per shot and the POI. Once adjusted (actually not far off from the out-of-the-box setting), I could get 8 accurate shots from a 3000 PSI fill. Based on my experience with my Ranger-XP .45, I thought I would run out of air (PSI below 3000) in my bulk tank (97 Cu Ft) before I ran out of bullets. I was very wrong - I estimate I could get 200 shots or more at 3000 PSI tethered to the bulk tank. I was only able to get 60 rounds off before the range closed. The spin-loc tank valve may leak when filling from empty. Dry firing and manually sliding the valve back and forth several times (per the manual) fixed it.

    Things I liked:

Everything! Has the sound and feel of a center fire firearm. Definitely not your standard air rifle!! Top of the line quality and workmanship.

    Things I would have changed:

I would definitely build it with weaver mounting rails. Waiting on mounting adapters so I can mount the scope. (Accuracy report will follow.)

    What others should know:

As has been said...the first fill does leak down. I shot 5 rounds then dry fired a couple of times. I then refilled the tank and no more leaking!!

This is the coolest airgun on the planet. Third shot out of the box with a 143 grain round ball chronographed at 1016 fps!!! THUNDER BOOMER!!!!

    Things I would have changed:

I wish the dovetails were picatinny rails.

    What others should know:

When I received the gun the bottle was empty. It took 530 pumps from my Hill MK4 to fill. Not that much fun. However, I took it to the range today and shot out to 100 meters with the 143 grain round ball. I have not touched the power adjustment wheel yet so I am not sure the gun is as efficient as it can be. It took 20 pumps with the MK4 per shot to bring back up. 5 shot group 100 pumps. I am 60 years old and with 5 back surgeries had no problem pumping this beast right back to full. I will probably get a carbon tank though. Just get in line to get your own because this is the last word in big bore airguns to date!!

Think Condor on steroids. The build quality is high on the Airforce scale. It begs to take deer hunting, and would be humane with good shot placement. It is superior in function as in accuracy and shot count to other production big bore airguns, specifically Korean and one custom made big bore AG that I have owned.

    Things I would have changed:

More information on suitable ammo and accuracy performance from Airforce.

    What others should know:

I'm in the early experimental phase with it (initial sight in), but I'm getting 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards shooting a 340 grain cast bullet(.457 diameter)on a single charge. Initially Texan would discharge air through barrel when tried to fill, but after dry firing a couple of times and filling cocked it has performed flawlessly. You will need hearing protection with this AG. Recoil is about like a standard .410 shotgun. Be safe when shooting because of power of Texan. You will need a shooting environment similar to shooting a firearm(range, backstop). Caution:major cool factor. Had to wipe off the drool from next door neighbor airgun shooting enthusiast.
