AirForce Airguns recommends using only lead projectiles.
Does not include the scope, rings and bipod shown in some of the images.

The AirForce Texan is the world's most powerful production air rifle. And it just got even more powerful: .45-caliber bullets going up to 1,000 fps and getting 600+ ft-lbs., thanks in part to AirForce's updated TX2 valve, available in .45-cal. Texans only, which produces an additional 100 fpe.

Easily load a projectile, cock the gun, take aim, squeeze the trigger and deliver jaw-dropping power. Because the gun doesn't come with open sights, you'll need to mount a scope.

An entire world of hunting opportunities has just opened up to you!

Airgun writer Tom Gaylord did some testing of the Texan, and you can see a chart of his velocity results by clicking the thumbnail images.

I am not sure yet....

What others should know:

The rifle has some press as being in-accurate in the 308 caliber. From what I can tell, this is undeserved. So far, I have shot exclusively Nielsen specialty ammo. Starting with the 65 & 85 grain weights. Everyone states this rifle likes the 120 grain and up weight slugs and it may... but so far the 65 and 85 grain slugs will print well under 2 Inches at 100 yds when shooting bagged front & rear. My best 5 shot group untethered is 1.3 MOA with 4 of the hits going SUB-MOA. Will the rifle do this every time? I dont Know but it easily prints under 2 inches without fail. The 65s like zero hammer preload and 1800 psi fill. This will give you 5 shots making around 140-150 fpe out of the 34 inch barreled model. The 85s seem to like 2800 psi and about 40% preload and will give you 3-5 good grouping shots per fill at about 1040 FPS and 200 fpe. This is a work in process. Check Motorgearhead on YouTube for 100 yd videos. Working on 200 yds now.

Things I liked:

As much fun as you can have with an air bottle. The power of this rifle is amazing, and the kick of shooting a 300 grain slug just ads to the fun.

Things I would have changed:

More available accessories would be nice.

What others should know:

This kind of fun is not cheap. By the time you buy a scope, a bottle, and an air compressor, you will be well over 2 grand. Nobody needs one of these guns....you just have to want one.

Can it use .510 cal slugs like the hammer?

      Can I buy it

  • Jay from USA asked:

I just purchased the new Texan LSS CF. Right out the box I'm getting full valve dump. I've tightened the adjuster all the way down. Dumps with 350gr. And light loads too, 220 grain. Is the valve on the bottle defective? Is the gun damaged, it full dumped at least 10 times while trying to figure out what was happening.

    • Tony from USA asked:

is there a replacement grip or upgrade for the texan lss 308 & 510 cals?
