Things I liked:

The light weight of a High power Nitro Piston rifle. The trigger is awesome for a out of the box factory set trigger. Takes 50 or so shots to really get the feel of it but its unique like every gun. I like it a lot. Accuracy is great once you find the right pellet. Don't ask me what mine is cause yours will not be the same. These guns have too many tolerances and variables to be exactly the same or remotely close.

Things I would have changed:

Add a little more weight to the stock to make it less hold sensitive. A little better scope for a HIGH Power rifle combo.

What others should know:

This is a HIGH POWER air rifle and is hold sensitive. Once you get a spot on the stock so you can rest it on your hand in the same spot every time this baby is a deadly hunting rifle. Accuracy is spot on with the Nitro Piston 2. Well worth the money.

Things I liked:

The lies about how great this rifle is

Things I would have changed:

Turn lies into truth

What others should know:

I don't know how people can place a review stating " shot great out of the box ". Unless these folks are happy with an 8" group at 23 yards, cause that's what I got. Alright, I didn't expect the dime size groups that my Marauder gives me, but this was not even close to 3 " groups. I will try to find a pellet that might suit this gun, but if if the 10 different brands I have fail, what good is this gun.

    Things I liked:

A very accurate, quiet, easy to cock air rifle. This is my second and I would not hesitate to recommend this to those who are looking for a great gun to control pests or teach marksmanship basics.

    Things I would have changed:

This gun would benefit from a better trigger. On the internet, there are options that will solve this problem with minimum cost or skill level.

    What others should know:

Pyramyd Air had this delivered to my door within four days of receiving my order.

    Things I liked:

Great gun for the price range. Been busting the heck out of varmits and other pests on my property. Super quiet, trigger was easy to adjust(mine required very little adjustment), very accurate for a piston powered rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Scope was junk, came with a 3-9x32 fixed objective. For this price though its not an issue, I put a $69 Center Point 4-16x40 AO on it and works fine.

    What others should know:

Its a great pesting and small game gun. I would go with the wood stock instead of the synthetic though because the wood stocks seem to dampen the vibration generated by the piston better. But the Elite piston design feels like it has taken some of that out internaly so either way its a great shooter.

Luv the fact that the Elite series have threaded barrels..i always mod my rifles out and this line up is pretty awesome. I have the .177, .22 and .25 cal Once dialed in with the correct scope and pellets..forget about it! These rifles are consistent.

    Things I would have changed:

Everyone seems to bark about the trigger..well..quit complaining and put yiur big boy pants on and modify to your liking.. Simple solutions that make these rifles what YOU want is the way to go.

    What others should know:

I really liked the gun but....I purchased two of these guns and had to send them both back. The first one something inside the safety broke so the safety lever just flopped back and forth and did nothing. The second one was sent back because it was grouping well, then suddenly stopped and shots were sporadic. I called tech support and they said to send the whole gun back, so I did and just asked for a refund.

    Things I would have changed:

Absolutely must change the scope. The scope that comes with the rifle is just window dressing. Do yourself a favor, skip the aggravation and spend an extra $80. and get a real scope.

    Things I liked:

Love having the pistol grip and integral suppressor. Fairly light and the cocking effort is nice(was 30-35lbs fresh out of the box, now is about the listed 28). The two stage trigger was spot on right out of the box so I didn't have to adjust it at all.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope isn't bad for breaking it in and getting it calmed down, but ultimately the stock scope could be a little better. Maybe switch to a 4-16x32 scope with adjustable objective for stock. It would be worth spending a few extra bucks on it.

    What others should know:

Love this gun. Even though I'm an inexperienced shooter, this has great power for the price. Great groupings(being inexperienced is about 1" at 30 yards) once it has calmed down(100-150 shots, so get a tin of inexpensive ammo from Walmart for $5-6.). $210 is a great price, but figure on another $100-150 for a good quality mildot scope and get them at the same time so you can work the scope while calming the gun down. Finally, think about your range of engagement(typically 15-20 yards) when your first sighting in. I set up at about 30 yards so anything inside that can be adjusted for on the fly. This also let's you acclimate to shot drop at the longer range. I haven't tested past 30 yards, but I'm pretty sure that that's max effective range. All in all great value, fun to ahoot, and no regrets getting this gun.

    Things I liked:

I have a few airguns but I wanted a lower end springer/piston gun for small game hunting. Due to cost and online reviews I decided on the NP2 Trail. I thought that it was the most value for the money. It's really easy to cock. It really is fun to shoot, I will lose time when I'm shooting it for sure. The scope is great, very good quality and outperforms the rifle! You DO NOT need a "better scope" on this gun. I put on a "better scope" but am taking it off because the original scope is working great for me on my other airgun, I hit everything I aim at dead on at 25 yards give or take. So I will use the mildots on a gun that actually has accuracy where the mildots can be effectively used.

    Things I would have changed:

I wouldn't have made a gun so powerful if it cant shoot under an inch groupings at 10 yards with the majority of pellets. I mean 10 yards is coming right out the barrel basically and it's doing 3+inches with some pellets, how do you expect to hit something at a 20-25 yard hunting range? The marketing is completely misleading. It should be marketed as a hard hitting plinker for the backyard or out camping instead of a hunting gun.

    What others should know:

Please don't rush into it. If you want a hunting gun make sure you can actually hit a squirrel in the head. I've found that in centerfire rifles you get a lot of arbitrary pricing, and a 250 dollar gun with a 400 dollar barrel will shoot just as good as a 2000 dollar gun. In airgunning there are very few exceptions but mostly the accurate guns are well known and they are popular because of that accuracy. Airgunning isn't a low cost thing. Would you rather buy a 250 dollar gun that gives you 3 or 4 inch 20 yard groups or a 450 dollar gun that you can practically cover with a quarter. Even a marketed 750fps is more deadly then a marketed 1400 fps when you can hit exactly where you are aiming with one and the other is all over the map. I don't have experience with the Umerax Octane Elite but I have seen a lot of private party reviews that state it might be a more accurate gun for the money. However, I'd recommend saving up for another one with years of proven accuracy.

    Things I liked:

Like the feel and seems to be pretty accurate until the scope moves. Probably shot 300 pellets and had to tighten scope 3 times.

    Things I would have changed:

Scope is average at best and mount/rings are very poor. Best would be to sell this air rifle separate and add a scope if can't come up with a better combo than what is included.

    Things I liked:

This gun is to me extremely light. The cocking effort is light enough for my son to dock it. He is 13. I shoot right at 40 yards and maintain a 1 inch group with the game rockets. Zeroing scope was easy.

    Things I would have changed:

The gun is quiet the shroud I wish was such a way to add more baffles - report is still enough to scare off souromdimg squirrels.

    What others should know:

Easy carry and gun is not frigel. Holds up scope most well has not moved since I installed. Gun shoots more accurate after about 100 rounds. Does not seem to like pointed pellets.

    Things I liked:

I bought this rifle in Canada, .22, put 3 pellets in the same hole with a leapers 3-12x44. Very accurate, shoots well and breaks and loads fairly easy. Noise is minimal but it is pretty heavy with the leapers scope. Recoil is moderate for young ones and very mild for adults.

    Things I would have changed:

Package with a better scope, the included sight does not do the rifle justice.

    What others should know:

Buy a proper scope for this rifle and enjoy it, quality product.

    Things I liked:

The gun is easy to cock, quiet, and light.

    Things I would have changed:

The one major defect with this gun: namely, you can't hit anything with it! I think the very poor accuracy of the gun is due to the recoil, and the recoil of the gun is due to it's lightweight design. Every time I pulled the trigger, the recoil made sure that the pellet wouldn't hit within 10 inches of the target. It feels like it's poorly balanced as well, which augments the problems from the recoil.

    What others should know:

Don't buy the gun unless your sole purpose is to waste lots of ammunition. Please do not attempt to hunt with this gun, either. You will cripple more than you will kill. I've now shot close to 1,000 rounds out of this gun, with a broad variety of pellets, and can honestly say that I'm disgusted with my purchase.

I've only shot about 100 pellets through this rifle so far so it's still in the break in stage but it seems very accurate out to 30 yrds. My grouping are pretty tight all within 3 inches. Still working on getting the scope tuned in. All in all very please with this rifle so far, it is quiet and breaking isn't to bad now.

after a good cleaning and lube, trigger adjustment, replaced plastic barrel washers with brass washer, put a good 4 screw scope mount set and a Bushnell scope. it cuts the same hole at 20 yards. I like how quiet it is.

    Things I would have changed:

put brass barrel washers from factory, trigger is better than old style but old style with roller bearing installed is still better. a trigger like the t06 would be really nice.

    What others should know:

gun shoots avarage but if you do the above work it turns into a really good shooter.

    Things I liked:

I purchased my rifle in .22 elsewhere in an unbeatable sale. After doing a lot of research I put this rifle on my short list of rifles I wanted to buy, and I am so glad that I did. This rifle changed my opinion of how much accuracy I could expect from a break-barrel. After putting in a full tin of break-in pellets, I am now using my second tin of sight-in pellets and 9 times out of 10 I am hitting right where I am aiming at 25 yards. I use this mainly for pest control of ground squirrels, and I have already eliminated quite a few with this awesome rifle. The moderator after break-in works as advertised, this is the quietest airgun that I have ever owned. This is no doubt due to the gas piston being quieter than a spring to the person firing and the moderator quieting the shot down range. The squirrels seem confused by any occasional misses with no loud shot to spook them. The included scope, while not fancy, is more than adequate for the task. Cocking force is light and smooth.

    Things I would have changed:

While I haven't over-tightened the barrel shroud which would crack the plastic reducing cone as others have complained about, I can see how that could easily happen. Since the shroud, like all threaded applications on a spring/gas piston gun comes loose eventually during the violent recoil, maybe replacing that plastic cone with something tougher or redesigning the whole shroud connection could fix that potential weakness. The trigger is great so no changes needed there. The only other thing I would change is the addition of open iron sights would be a plus to me, I have always been a fan of those.

    What others should know:

While I am much more a fan of traditional stocks, I have gotten used to this style stock, find it to be quite comfortable. Especially since they have molded the center of balance texturally into the stock so you always know where to put your off hand by feel. I really like that they have engineered a sturdy sling mounting system into the gun that will help you carry it easily into the field. While this gun is not too heavy by my standards, the optional Benjamin single swivel sling is certainly nice to have in order to keep your hands free while out and about all day. So if you have been looking for a relatively affordable, American break-barrel gas-piston air rifle that is quiet, powerful, accurate, and not incredibly hold-sensitive; buy this rifle now and see what I am talking about! It is a great rifle even at full price!
