    Bad investment

Bought one, won't buy another, haven't been able to fire a full mag without a misfire or two, thumbs down

    Introduction to handgun

I purchased the air pistol for my nephew. It's the first time he's ever touched a firearm. I wanted to introduce him to target shooting without the muzzle flash or recoil. Get him excited about target shooting and then move him him into a 9mm. Great intro handgun.

    Things I liked:

Well built and sturdy. It is made of metal not plastic with good weight. It is made in Japan.

    Things I would have changed:

The magazine will drop easily and its blowback wastes much gas.

    What others should know:

Its magazine is totally compatible with Gamo P430.

    Things I liked:

I purchased this CO2 pistol to go with my MantisX training system. The weight, feel and action of this pistol work out very well for indoor practice (of course no pellets loaded) and can dial in my shooting. No modification needed to continually fire this pistol with the mantisX.

    Things I would have changed:

loading this with a new CO2 cartridge can be a bit tricky and the access door isn't easy to open. The trigger pull and feel could be improved, but not terrible for its purpose.

    What others should know:

accuracy of it as a pellet pistol is good as well if you chose to use it that way.

    Things I liked:

Imitates my real Sig P226 well. Familiar controls. Good trainer in that respect.

    Things I would have changed:

Better accuracy. More importantly, more consistent use of gas. The first few shots are hot & high, next 5-8 are more or less predictable and then it starts lobbing jelly doughnuts.

    What others should know:

Gas use as mentioned above. Not powerful enough to trip BB rated steel targets. Great for a 226 trainer. Otherwise, I'd look at other options.

Good Weight & Feel Perfect for Training

Have yet to fire pellet rounds, Sig branded CO2 and pellets were sold out when I first purchased, but the P226 accurately mimics the weight and feel of the traditional Sig P226 chambered in 9mm. There is blow-back action, however, the ejection port isn't hollowed out. Additionally, the mag is not full-sized, but follows a rotary clip design, essentially doubling each magazine from eight to sixteen (you'll have to eject the mag, and flip 180 degrees to access the other eight). You can fire metal BBs or .177 pellets interchangeably according to the included instructions. All metal construction is a nice touch. White dot sights in the rear, and the option to fire double-action or single-action. I'd go for 5 stars, but I haven't had the opportunity to test target grouping as of yet. 4 stars out the box without any add-ons, or mods. Yes, I'd recommend!

    Things I liked:

    Weight

    Things I would have changed:

Not much - maybe a louder "click" when the clip is put back in, so you would know it is all the way in.

    What others should know:

    Nope.

    Looks like the real thing.

    Things I would have changed:

I would buy something more accurate. The gun did little damage to the target. Not what I expected.

    What others should know:

Buy something more powerful. Pellets are lacking in size.

Easy to operate and good Item to practice with without going to the range which sometimes closed due to the pandemic.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. For me, everything is fine.

    What others should know:

One of the better co2 powered pistols on the market.

    Things I liked:

When I first take it out the package I like the weight of it. It feels like a solid gun like it will last for a long time. I don't see how this going to get so many bad reviews, I've owned A P 25 and pt-85 for since they came out are those are real good guns but this sig Sauer close it out of the water completely. I get around 48 shots till empty and to me that is good for a blowback CO2 that is very powerful. I use Winchester maximum velocity and mines and those work the best. This gun have crazy power, especially since I'm in Las Vegas right now and it's a 110 degrees outside.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe an open port projector but it really don't need one. Other than that I would change nothing.

    What others should know:

This guy is very powerful definitely if you are just getting into are guns. Also this gun is very very loud sounds like a 22. Also it is extremely accurate Sig Sauer did a good job with this .

    Things I liked:

I like the blow back action and weight of the pistol - loading CO2 is very easy. The pellet clips load easily into the gun and it is relatively easy to use.

    Things I would have changed:

The pellet clips are very finicky to load - you really have to center the pellets in the clip in order for it fire properly. Also the clips have a tendency not to revolve after discharging a pellet leaving an empty round chambered. I have three clips for this pistol and they all have a tendency to skip rounds especially after rapid cycling. In addition, the accuracy of this pistol is almost non-existent even with high end match rounds. groups are well outside what you would expect for a higher end training pistol - especially from Sig Sauer. I have regular Sig P220 chambered in .45 Cal and it is very accurate weapon. This gun needs tritium sights, better accuracy testing and a better magazine mechanism.

    What others should know:

When I ordered this pistol it was back ordered and I had done a lot of research looking for a fairly accurate pistol with blow back action and high FPS rating. I have shot over 1000 rounds using H&N brand pellets and have tried varying pellet weights ranging from 7 grains to 10 grains. The accuracy leaves much to be desired - 5" groups are almost impossible to achieve even when fairly close . Overall not impressed with this pistol. I am considering purchasing a new pistol from a different manufacturer. I would not recommend this pistol - especially when the price point is close to $100.00. I have Daisy brand C02 BB gun that requires cycling after each shot that provides better accuracy and consistency than the Sig P226.

    Great practice pistol!

This is a great practice pistol. Similar weight, feel and balance to the real P226. Let's me practice in the back yard when I can't get to the range.

    Things I liked:

Not much to like about this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

The next time I purchase a gun it will be from a supplier where I can try the gun before I purchase it.

    What others should know:

Accuracy is not good. Trigger pull is terrible and it doesn't have enough power to penetrate a cardboard box at 20 feet. Now I have a gun I can't return because I fired one clip of pellets through it only to find out it was nothing as described.

    Magazine and gas leak problem

First impression as soon as I saw and felt the pistol on my hands was incredible. it looks and feel like the real sig sauer .22lr sig mosquito, even better. But got dissapointed when test it. The magazine drops itsel from the grip when shooting and when a slight shake of my hand eeeverytime. Also if I don't empty the gas cilinder sholting, it empty by itself. any solution, because I don't want to return it. I really like the gun

    Shooting pleasure

Great air pistol to practice shooting in the back yard, and teach my son, gun safety, and get him acclimated to the proper usage of a hand gun

  • Rating 5.05.0 5.0

Perfect replica and too much fun to shoot

Had this for about two months now and I love it more and more every time I shoot it. Has a great field to it, well balanced, everything you would expect from the name Has a great feel to it, well-balanced, everything you would expect from a Sig. if you’re looking for a gun to train with, plank around or target shoot this is definitely the right one.

P226 Air Pistol - Excellent Choice

I carry a P226 MK25. I have not been able to use the local range of which I am a member because of the virus situation. Shooting my 9mm in the backyard is not an option. My son, who has a large collection of nerf and air soft guns, suggested I get an air pistol; it didn't take me long to find that Sig has a P226 Air Pistol. The P226 Air Pistol is basically the same size and weight as my "real" P226; except I can shoot it in my backyard. And I can use the same holster for the Air Pistol as I use with my P226 MK25. I set up a 1" target at 15 yards; with a standard daisy BB gun, I easily hit the target and after awhile so could my son. Then we tested the P226 Air Gun. At an indoor range, hitting a 1" target at 15 yards with a P226 MK25 isn't at the high-end of difficult, but it's not as easy as with a BB gun. It took me, several tries before I was able to repeatably hit the target. I noted that the P226 Air Gun sights differently than my real one; but, the air gun is quite accurate. My first impression is that it was fun. I felt confident that if I wanted to practice inside my home, it would be easy and safe to accommodate. My son commented that the co2 cartridge lasted much longer than any of the air guns in his collection. My second impression is that performance degrades as the cartridge is expended; but, the degradation doesn't seem to be very smooth - the P226 works, the same for quite some time and then you all of sudden you notice it's not working - you miss the target, etc. My third impression is that it is a great way to practice all sorts of combat pistol exercises. My fourth impression is that the air gun really augments dry fire practice. The recoil is slight but feel is similar due to the blowback pushing the slide rearward. If you tend to flinch, you can overcome it using an air gun - you can practice keeping both eyes open, holding your hand steady, pulling the trigger back, slowly, slowly, slowly and then surprise, it fires!

    Things I liked:

Feel and weight of the gun are fantastic. Fit and finish of all the parts including the slide are Sig spot on, no rattles or play in any moving part. Feels balanced and solid in the hand. Excellent trigger pull and shoots quite accurately with wadcutters. And the CO2 loading couldn't be easier. Awesome replica!

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

This gun is very well made and functions great. Don't miss out on this one!

    Introduce Yourself

If you're looking for a training tool, this is a good one. The weight and handling promotes good muscle memory, and the 226 air pistol doubles as a good introductory tool for novice shooters. The evolution of these air pistols is pretty incredible. I hadn't shot, in any form, for over 30 years. As someone who wants to ease back into the realm of enthusiasts, this was a great alternative to going all in right out of the gate. This one performs well and handles nicely. I've gotten some of my form back ahead of going in for courses. Thanks, Sig Sauer.
