    Things I liked:

Walther CP99 is a great choice for beginners, accuracy is really good with full gas.

    Things I would have changed:

Sometimes the slide stop fails to work, but after few more try, it will come back to normal. Same thing happens to my friend's CP99.

    Things I liked:

I love the look and feel of this nice replica, it has a nice weight and the grip is very ergonomic. It's also decent on co2 considering that the gun has a blowback mechanism. Solid gun for the price.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not much.

    What others should know:

This gun may be compact, but delivers quite a punch. It is not a toy for kids, it can be very dangerous when not used properly. See Pyramyd Air's safety videos.

    Things I liked:

Very well made. The blow back on this pistol is a great feature. Love the weight of it. Mostly metal and very simple to load mags and co2. I would recommend this pistol to anyone. Still have yet to take it out into the field and test my accuracy with this gun. I recommend getting a couple extra mags as well so keep from loading one everytime.

    Things I would have changed:

The safety. Not a big fan of how it works. Would have like a slide safety. Also when the safety is on and you have a loaded magazine in it and pull the trigger, bbs will come out the barrel. But other than that I would not change anything.

    Things I liked:

I love this new cp99! It has a good amount of weight to it making it feel like the real thing. The blowback is a great feature. The muzzle of the gun is also a plus if you want an air gun that doesn't look like an air gun. Very easy to load both magazines and CO2. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to everyone.

    Things I would have changed:

Make a little more accurate, but overall a great gun!

    Things I liked:

Great quality, lots of metal. Heavy. Not very powerful. Accuracy is not it's strong suit. Overall it feels like a real gun. Blow back is a ton of fun. I can get about 10 mags through it before CO2 needs to be replaced.

    Things I would have changed:

    Adjustable iron sights.

    What others should know:

It's a plinker, but it's a ton of fun. Very well made. Feels like a more expensive gun. You won't win any target shooting contests with this.

After firing over 500 shots I have learned the particulars of the pistol and am very happy. Accurate enough for fun plinking at 11 meters. great looks and heft.

    What others should know:

takes a awhile to learn btw all pistols require that learning curve.

    Nothing. It's perfect!!!!

    What others should know:

If you don't already own this air gun.... get one now!! You won't regret it.

everything! This is a real peice of work. Accurate, reliable and fool proof. The way the CO2 cartridge is pretty much unable to be over tightened for the person that is just learning and makes a speedy swap-out for the seasoned shooter.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

I think I covered it all.

    Things I liked:

The overall look; it’s sexy and fits my hand like a glove, and with those curves it’s like the gun fuses to my hand like an appendage. I like the color tone, the open ejection port, the grip, the slide/blowback, the size, length, and weight of the CP99 Compact. Seriously if you are a collector like I am becoming you cannot go without this gun in your collection. I’m a bachelor so I have targets set up around the house and I walk around with my gun in my UTG holster swinging off my hip having a good time, right in the comfort of my own home (it’s hilarious). I also own the Colt Defender which would have been a big contender with the CP99 Compact if it had that sweet sweet blow back and open ejection port. Yes I know my Colt is more powerful but with the blowback on the Walther it just feels more powerful, and for my use it’s the bee’s knees.

    Things I would have changed:

At this point I am still astonished in the quality and wonderful job they have done designing and creating this product; There are no changes that come to mind.

    What others should know:

    1. Just follow the instructions they provide and you should have no problems at all. 2. Ensure to get your CP99 Compact from Pyramid Air, cause you could slip up and purchase the older model without the ejection port cut out, which isn't the bee's knees.

    Things I liked:

me gusta el realismo de esta pistola, se ve y se siente como el arma de fuego real, pequeña y compacta.

    Things I would have changed:

me parece un poco complicado la forma como se ajusta el cartucho de co2, el metodo tradicional o de click seria mas funcional

    What others should know:

amigos se las recomiendo, no se arrepentiran de esta arma de aire

    Things I liked:

    Accurate, super realistic blowback action

    Things I would have changed:

I'd like a heavier spring on the slide (it would seem more realistic) and a better grade of blueing on the metal parts. White dots on sights would be nice, too

    What others should know:

Expect over 100 shots per CO2! So get extra mags and alot of ammo

    Things I liked:

Blowback, nice weight and feel, decent accuracy. Very fun plinker.

    Things I would have changed:

The barbed safety release switch spring tension is too high. With less tension you could operate the safety more easily and would be more inclined to use it consistently. You could engage the switch and then jam a small piece of plastic into the gap; however this would reduce the safety to a simple toggle switch. The high tension safety could be viewed as a positive because a child's hands lack the strength to disengage it. Obviously no one should substitute a mechanical safety for proper storage and ample gun safety training.

    What others should know:

The BB "roll-out" problem only seems to occur for me when the CO2 is essentially spent, i.e. when the gun stops self cocking consistently. Keep your eye on the rear red "cocked" indicator to confirm this situation when CO2 is too low. FYI, when you empty the clip and the slide locks into the back position a subsequent trigger pull will not spend CO2, which is nice. Buy the two extra clips when they're available, you'll want them.

    Things I liked:

its a blowback you can take the slide, the recoil spring, and what i call the "bolt" off by taking off the screw on the top and pulling up on the the rear of the slide. other things are that the slide locks back the single action, semi auto design. oh and the ambidextrous safety is really nice because i have a lefty friend that'll shoot with me

    Things I would have changed:

maybe a bit stronger recoil? have the recoil spring assembly be ligit so that its more like a 9 mil. also, the slide will lock back when there is a bb still in the magazine

    What others should know:

i got over 210 shots out of this thing! its amazing! if the hammer dosnt cock after a shot re-cock the gun and if it happens again the check the temp of the co2 and if its cold then let it warm up and shoot some more!

    Things I liked:

Fairly accurate. Plenty of shots per CO2. Slide locks back and trigger is disengaged after last shot. No waste of CO2. Trigger fairly smooth. Single action. Run the slide back for the first shot, after that blowback takes care of things.

    Things I would have changed:

So far the gun works pretty well. Can't think of anything right off.

    What others should know:

CO2 piercing is a little different. You have to run a thumb screw up against the cartridge and then finish by turning the knob at the end of grip. Seems to work OK When pulling the trigger, follow through, don't let off or your BB will roll out of the barrel. This happens only when you pull the trigger approximately 1/2 way and then release not making the shot. Not a big problem. I have a couple of other pistols that will do the same thing.

    Things I liked:

Overall, I think umarex accomplished what they set out to do with this nice little pistol. I love the looks, and the way it feels in my hand. The blow back is the key selling point on this one. Awesome plinker. Overall a nice piece of work that I would absolutely recommend for someone looking for what this is.

    Things I would have changed:

Find a way to make it a little more accurate, grouping with mine isn't all that great. And yes, I do realize that I'm dealing with a BB pistol and not a rifle, but still I think fairly tight groups should be attainable.

    What others should know:

If your looking for something that looks great and gives you that level of realism of a real firearm, this is about as close as you can get without actually using a real firearm in the pistol selection. However, if your looking for something thats dead on and gives you really tight groups, you might need to look at something else.

    Things I liked:

weight, balance, realistic ,clip release in trigger ,grips, blowback with lock to rear when empty, power, gets over 100 shots even with a double tap or rapid fire.

    Things I would have changed:

safety takes two hands, adjustable rear sight although its acurate as is.

    What others should know:

If you pull the trigger on safety and there are BBs in the clip they fall out the barrel, but not when firing. If you dont let the co2 regain power by a pause it will not fire but it does not jam all trivial once you know it will happen...accuracy is dead on unless you do rapid fire in the third or fourth clip then accuracy suffers due to power drop

    Things I liked:

I like the entire gun. In fact I have owned four since 2007!! It is a very consistant operating air pistol in all respects.

    Things I would have changed:

Umarex warrenty period. call umarex and find out what they charge to repair their products!! you will be very suprised.

    What others should know:

Three of the four cp99 compacts malfunctioned within seven months of use. Less then 2,000 shots on two, less then 200 shots on my most recent one purchased in Dec 2010. Slide is DRIVEN BACK past its standard operating distance and is jammed in place. The only remedy is to order CO2 valve from factory and replace, or have them do it for over $50.00+ freight. This is a manufacturers defect, or built in obsolencence that forces repairs. Umarex refuses to admit this, but I'll bet there are a bunch of you out there that have had this experience. Call Umarex and file a complaint.....howard

    Things I liked:

O.B. Wright... I am very pleased with the CP99. Its blow-back action reminds me of the recoil experienced when operating a .22LR. The weight and balance are excellent. The CO2 system seals the cartridge well enough to allow holster transport for days without failure, and there is not the protruding knob upon the butt-plate. Accuracy is reasonable for a short, smoothbore weapon. The FPS is consistantly high considering the blow-back function. A good buy for a "working" low-powered weapon.

    Things I would have changed:

The safety. I requires two hand motions to both release and cock the weapon. The BBs cycle from the barrel if the trigger is pulled when in the SAFE mode.

    What others should know:

Purchase the extra mags (2). They fit, along with a spare CO2 cartridge, in the front pouch of the UTG holster which I recommend.

    Things I liked:

The guns weight was the first thing I was impresed by, and is also what everyone else commentedo on. Mine did not have much of a problem with bb rollout either; I was able to squeeze the trigger. Never had a problem with CO2 leaking. Also for those of you who are wondering-- the ejection port IS OPEN on the newer models! (yay)

    Things I would have changed:

At the beginning, the slide return lever worked flawlessly, catching the slide 100% of the time. However after abotu 2 weeks of shooting, it began to slip and no longer works. The lever does not catch anymore and the slide does NOT stay open on the last shot. Accuracy also sucks but you don't buy this gun for accuracy-- you buy it for the overall fun of owning a blowback bb pistol. It is fun. Also the power starts to drop off after the 3rd mag--- not the most efficent pistol you could own.

    What others should know:

DO NOT fire this gun without bbs when the magazine is loaded. It will ruin your slide release lever which is one of the cool things about this pistol (and was why i picked it in the first place.) Very heavy, realistic looking gun. I wish they changed the safety feature as it is stiff and awkward. Overall a decent buy.
