After trying several dovetail mounts and rings, which did fit, but didn't work with the limited rail length on a pistol, ordered this one and couldn't be any happier.

The short base matched perfectly and provides excellent grip, really like the overall construction.

One thing to note is that the 4" is too long to use with compact scopes such as UTG bugbuster, you'll need to get the 3" for that (have them both).

it functions as a good paperweight when i need to keep my spare targets from blowing down the range

i'm really shocked at the other reviewers here ranting and raving so perhaps i just got a lemon? i'm not happy about the quality as imo it's very cheaply made (feels like a piece of aluminum). was very skeptical that this would hold up from the recoil of my stoeger f40. installation was easy and the included instructions were insightful/helpful, but after my first few shots i noticed my scope was starting to get loose. i took my scope out of the mount and saw a very large stress fracture running down the center of the mount - starting at the ring closest to my eye and continuing halfway down. maybe i just got a bad one, but i would hesitate purchasing this mount if you experience a fair amount of recoil. 1" burris scope rings with a high clearance to the rescue!

This is a fantastic U.S. made mount. I have put it on the Hatsan 95 and the Webley Stingray.This is a perfect mount for anything from a Target to Magnum Airgun. The center is perfect and it allows for some barrel droop. No scope stop needed just mount to the rear of the rail and it sets itself. It does not get knocked out if bumped! WORTH THE MONEY!!!

Offer this mount that comes back on the receiver this same amount that would mount the "Bug Buster" mini scope.

This mount not only keeps weight to a minimum, it also allows easier access to the safety. It looks cool too. Does not damage scopes. Holds MUCH tighter than mounts with 11 allen bolts! Leapers and such.

I choose to use BKL cantilevered mounts on my springer rifles and pistols, especially when there's an issue of other mounts moving back on the dovetails due to recoil. They offer the additional benefit of allowing more adjustability for eye relief. Sometimes the additional cost is more than justified by the performance and overall high quality.
