Things I Would Have Changedtrigger ans scope scope is fine thats on it i just prefer a bigger nicer scope. and trigger is a bit heavy
What Others Should Knowawesome gun i put $850 in this gun it has a leapers 6-24x50 scope, grt-III trigger, sling, bipod, laser and nd5 illuminator on scope, and got it tuned by rich in mich.
the scope is sweet dead spot on
Things I Would Have Changedcould be a more silent
What Others Should Knowgreat buy i love it
Good looks (pictures really don't do it justice either... this is a sweet looking gun in real life!), power, accuracy, balance. Overall very impressed with the quality of the rifle itself... very well constructed and does not look or feel like a toy. One thing that really surprised me was how light the rifle was, especially considering its size!
Things I Would Have ChangedThree issues... First, since this weapon is clearly designed for varmint hunting, provisions for a sling would have been nice. Second, the stock trigger... actually it wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting, but still left a lot of room for improvement. Regardless, I had anticipated this to be a problem area, and went ahead and replaced it with a GRTIII trigger. All I can say is talk about a night and day difference! VERY much worth the investment! Finally, I was not impressed at all with the optics suite that came with this package. Generally cheap and cheesy considering the quality of the gun itself. The stock rail mounted the scope slightly too low such that the sights interfered with the image, plus didn't care for the mounting brackets. Rings were cast into the rails, and the mount for the flashlight/laser were cast into the upper half of the rings as well, making them non-positionable and impossible to do a simple rail swap w/o getting a new tactical bracket. Scope image had some distortion (fuzzier towards the center), and crosshairs were not quite perpendicular to each other. Also magnification ring was really stiff. Can't comment on the laser itself since with the other problems I was encountering with the scope and mount, I basically decided to redo the entire package. Swapped out the scope for a Centerpoint Adventure 3-9x and the laser/flashlight combo for a BSA Varmint Hunter Pro. Again, BIG improvement!
What Others Should KnowWanted to add in a couple of words about the compensator. As long as the potential buyer understands that the compensator will do nothing to quiet the spring mechanism, they should be OK. Likewise, it SHOULD be understood that it won't do anything to silence a pellet hitting supersonic velocities! What the compensator does do is eliminate the characteristic "POP!" associated with most air guns. In other words, it doesn't really sound like an air gun when it fires. As far as the spring mechanism itself, I doubt it would be noticeable more than 10 yards away under most circumstances.
My only real complaint with this rifle again goes back to the optics package. I really wouldn't have a problem spending a little extra for a quality scope that matches the quality of this rifle. Not a good area to be cutting corners on! Otherwise very pleased with the rifle itself, and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to friends.
Great Gun, son and I assembled scope and accessories in less than 30 mins. Had it sighted in for 25 yards in 20 shoots. Very accurate and easy to cock.
What Others Should KnowAlso would like to complement the customer service dept. Had a issue being short a package of pellets, (package opened) and forgot to include the free strap. No problems, they shipped out asap. Will purchase from Pyramyd again. Thanks
I like the thumbhole stock and the flashlight/ lazer combo.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe paking everything was loose in the box the scope box was a little banged up as result of the rough handling the bulb for the flash light was busted
What Others Should KnowI have shot the gun about 75 times and the accuracy is so-so. Its good enough to take care of the groundhogs and squirrels in my yard. I have just replaced the trigger with the GRT-III and waiting to see if there is any inprovement with the accurace. It definately shoot better with it. I am also looking for a way to give it a tune-up.
I honestly like the lightweight of the gun it feels comfortable when lay along side of the cheek. Scope and gun are good and accurate useful for small games.
Things I Would Have Changeddefinitely, the trigger is what a pain, it takes forever to break the second stage you could have been off the target already. After I installed the GRT after market trigger it feels totally different, it's like night and day, 10 times better!
What Others Should Knowlaser light was throwing off very now and then. When fire, the spring is kinda loud you can feel the hollow from the stock when the spring vibrate due to recoil.
Lightweight, fairly quiet, Gamo quality. Easy to load.
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger pitiful. nice gun pitiful trigger. Gamo please fix what does not work. I should not have to replace your mistake with an aftermarket part.
What Others Should KnowMine has now had at least 2,000 shots through it, Very wide patterns, 2 inch at 35 yards, tried some Crosman 10.5 grain premier pellets, now the groups are within 5/16 at the same 35 yard mark. It does have some power to spare, but has never gone supersonic ! I wish Gamo would be honest about the F.P.S. The laser would not stay on target for 20 shots, it would move as much as a foot. Dripped some blue loctite in the threaded holes moved the screws in and out a little, then readjusted it. Has not moved since. Bottom line is I am VERY happy with the Whisper VH. and would have given it 5 stars, but I bought a CFX and I now know what hole in hole is about. The whisper will not give you hole in hole accuracy, at least the one I have will not. Plan on replacing the trigger . the one that is on it works, but creeps, crunches, and is just silly to pull, after my second tin of pellets 1,000 shots, I gave up on the Gamo mistake and placed an aftermarket trigger on it. What a world of difference. Smooth easy no creep. I would buy this gun again...
quiet+power+accuracy=this gun
Things I Would Have Changedchange location of laser, thats it
What Others Should Knowif your looking for a gun to do some plinking, or small game hunting, this is the gun for you, use caution, very powerful
Balance, feel, look, lack of noise, power.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing so far.
What Others Should KnowGo for it, I used HW 35 before but this just rocks for the price and sheer accurate power.

Just right, for my needs. Power is plenty for small game, at a reasonable distance. Easy to use, and easy to adjust scope and laser. I assembled my own. The variety of ammo that,s available is amazing in it's technology. Using target/match loads This gun is pretty quiet. It shouldn't bother your neighbors, unless they're overly sensetive. Oh, and the scope comes with clear protective caps. Oh, and buy the case with the gun. It's a great buy, AND you need a place to put your gun without jarring, and accidently moving the scope, and laser. I'd also recommend the Gamo air rifle strap. With all the gear on top of the gun, it's handy to have the option of hanging, rather than leaning the gun on it,s sights. The sights, without the scope, are very cool also. Two green optic fiber dots on the rear sight, and a red optic fiber dot on the front. Very easy to see, they seem to light up in minimal light.
Things I Would Have ChangedI'll have to get back to you on this. Nothing comes to mind.
What Others Should KnowAfter you go to the trouble of adjusting your scope and laser, Protect them from being hit or jarred. Learn to compensate for distance. When you're real close, aim a little high, real far, aim a little low for the scope.
Tighten the screws on the scope mount, after several shots. They can vibrate loose. There's a recoil pin on the scope mount, that seats into the top of the gun. Be sure that it is enguaged sufficiently, to keep the scope from moving during recoil. The PMB ammo is a little louder than lead pellets.
