Do these come with a stop pin?
Yes. One of the rings has a threaded stop pin in it.
I just bought a Hawke AMX 3x9x40. I need a dovetail mount scope rings. Do I need medium or high mounts to keep the bell off the barrel?
Depends on the gun you are mounting it on, but in most cases, medium rings will work fine for a 40mm objective lens

They are reasonably priced, not sports match quality but completely serviceable. Fit 3/8 and 11mm. I used these on a PCP they do have a scope stop pin for springer use.
Things I would have changed:Get rid of the no mar grippy tape inside the ring and machine to size.
What others should know:Hawke rings height are different from sports match and allow you to maintain clearance in certain applications and keep the scope closer to the bore. I keep several different brands in different sizes on hand to get proper set up with out having to compromise.
