Great feeder. Just wish you included the plug necessary to hook up my existing solar panel.
My experience with game feeders is the timers only last about 2-3 years max.
Moultrie not willing to help in broke feeder after couple months. It was caused by deer but no help for new to Moultrie customer.
The feeder controls went after just 2 years of use in one of the 2 feeders we legally use on nuisance hunts in our state. This replacement until is much better as the keyboard is on a wire that can come off the unit and be held while standing. The old unit it was permanent on the bottom so you had to look up at it from the ground. It's working great now and I have confidence in it!
In my opinion it’s a great feeder and easy to install. The only thing that I don’t like is I thought the pigtail cable for the control box would be long enough so you could stand upright to use. Wrong, you still have to bend over to program it. So, If you have a bad back like me now, you will still have to bend over or kneel to program it due to a short pigtail on the programming box.
Timer goes off as expected. Problem with the squirrels is no longer a factor.
Installed easily on my older feeder. Just installed and is working.
Installed this feeder hoping it will keep the raccoons from manually spinning the plate… After pulling videos from my Tactacam, the raccoons are climbing up and spinning the plate with ease. It’s almost like the electrical wire gives them more to hold on to so they can get more during their climb up. Not impressed unfortunately.
I was experiencing substantial loss of corn to squirrels and raccoons who had learned how to access the spinner on the standard issue dispersing unit…to the tune of 150 lbs. of corn in 9 days! I purchased the NXT dispersing unit and my ‘invaders’ quickly learned that crossing those two wires while attempting to manually spin the dispersing wheel was an electrifying experience! ZAP!
