Description
For years the Legends series by Umarex has brought historic firearms to life as airgun replicas for shooting enthusiasts.
Now Umarex has created their very own German MP40 submachine gun replica. This .177 caliber BB rifle promises hours of fun with a 52 round magazine and full auto capability! Powered by two 12 gram CO2 cartridges, simply select full or semi-automatic firing, and mow down tin cans like never before.
The "real steel" MP40 was first developed in 1940 for German paratroopers and later became the standard submachine gun for the Wehrmacht infantry. The Legends MP40 is a faithful replica that will transport you back in time the minute you pick it up. The realism is highlighted by the full metal body and folding shoulder stock. The hooded front sight and adjustable rear sight stay true to the original design and keep your eyes on the prize.
For fans of WWII military arms, this legendary gun can finally be yours!
Please Note: Do not use with Smart Shot BBs as it will cause the airgun to jam. For best results, do not fill more than 40-45 BBs at a time. Overfilling can cause jams.
In the manual, it is stated that you will hear a "pop" noise (CO2 release) when dry firing the gun with just CO2 in the magazine. This is not the case, the magazine must be loaded with both CO2 and BBs for the gun to fire properly.

This thing is fun to shoot! It's also a very good replica. Everything worked perfectly, right out of the box. I found it to be super easy to load. The opening to load BB's in the clip is larger than any of my other 5 guns that load that way. Nice. You get a good number of shots per cartridge load, too. Accuracy is pretty good. I've gotten good at knocking cans off with hip shots. Fun!
Things I Would Have ChangedI don't think I'd change a thing, really.
What Others Should KnowIf you have a BB speed loader, you can actually use it to load the clip. Just hold it against the loading opening & squeeze them in. It's a little tricky at first, but much faster than loading by hand!
Looks
Things I Would Have ChangedReal pain loading c02 cartridges without wasting alot of it.
What Others Should KnowFix it so the c02 goes in without a big problem.

Overall authenticity, reliable operation and accuracy.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would change the owner's manual, page 8 CAUTION states: "Never load the airgun until you have verified it will discharge CO2 properly". Page 7 states: "if the airgun does dot make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO2 is not being discharged. When the magazine is charged and locked into the receiver (but not loaded with bbs) and the trigger is pulled, there is no release of CO2 (or popping noise) Apparently there was a design change so that the airgun will not release CO2 when the magazine is empty of bbs, a good thing but they need to update the instructions to reflect that change. I ended up blowing out the magazine seal in an attempt to verify that it was charged not having heard the CO2 capsule(s) being pieced. PyramydAir could not supply me a new seal, they wanted me to return the whole airgun for warranty work, I found a suitable metric o ring (21mm)I think. The airgun has been working ever since.
What Others Should KnowThe owners manual is out of date (apparently)
I received my mp40 to day and was it a gas . Once I figured that i was putting the mag I back wards I had a great time . Pyrimid air that you for getting to me so fast 4 days to Texas, you all did a great job thank you so much my sons love it. Thank you agin. It was worth the money.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing that I would change I red that ther was no way I could hold the mag spring back long enough to load it, I found lock on one side at the rear of them to hold it back, easy to lock it for loading, perfect.
What Others Should KnowNo nothing else its a great gun to own, they thought of it all, lock was probbly there all the time no one probbly never noticed it thank you agin.
If you don't own, you need one
Things I Would Have ChangedEasier reloading
Nice gun. Good replica. Very convincing. Umarex makes a fine airgun. It's fast, and powerful for CO2. It works very well as long as you keep it clean and magazine dry.
Things I Would Have ChangedStronger magazine spring.
The heft, detail, and perfect firing rate in full-auto.
Things I Would Have ChangedOriginal I was nervous about the gun shooting low left, high right, or etc. Rudimentary adjustments for windage would be nice (I know it's full-auto, shut up) since I push all of my airguns to their excellence limit. Fortunately, mine shot point of aim right out of the box! (Bouncing bottle caps after pulverizing the bottles Lol.)
What Others Should KnowSo far the stock is my only gripe, (A bit of wiggle-jiggle)but definitely not a deal-breaker. I plan on tinkering with the mechanism and making it lock solid in the historically-accurate position. I'm fae too critical of everything I buy, and I give this bb-spittin' monster FIVE STARS!
nice looks, great feel, very close to original
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should KnowThe one I received has a hold catch on the magazine follower and is very easy to load bb's, not sure if earlier mags had this feature but it works great. I get 4 magazines on a fill as long as I don't go full auto all the time. Mine hits center but a little low at 10 meters so no problem taking the center out of a pop can. Buy one and have some fun

Almost everything. The weight and realism are wonderful. The feel of the mild recoil when firing. The accuracy and just pure joy of shooting this thing... We had so much fun with it, while we were shooting actual firearms, that I wished I had bought 2 or 3 more mags for this little guy. What a blast and a work of art too.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wish the magazine was easier to load or had a reservoir that could refill once the follower was held down, or include two magazines with the gun. Aside from that, don't change a thing!
What Others Should KnowBe patient at first. Reference, but don't "read" the manual, as there may be errors. The magazine is easy to get partially in backwards, so don't force it until you get the hang of it, then you can slap a new mag in without thinking about it. Have fun! We had a range day on my brother's property and this bb gun was the star!
