Description

The original Walther LGV was a match rifle produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was the pinnacle of Walther's breakbarrel target rifles. Now, Walther has reintroduced the LGV line with several different models that include many of the fine features of that original target gun.

Let's start with the barrel latch, which is pushed down to break open the breech. In addition to the normal barrel detent that holds the barrel closed, the barrel latch creates a secondary point to hold the breech rock-solid tight. This creates a fit so snug that it's like having a fixed barrel rifle.

How about a great match trigger? You don't often find one on a sporting gun, but you will when you get the LGV Competition Ultra. The trigger-pull is set at 3 lbs., but you can adjust it to suit your preferences.

With the Super Silent Technology, the gun won't be as prone to disturb your neighbors...or spook any critters you're trying to dispatch.

While this airgun has the power for hunting, it's also got the accuracy for popping bullseye targets all day long.

If all these features weren't enough, they've added an adjustable comb to make it easier to align your eye with the open sights or any optics you decide to mount.

There's just one more thing you need to know: The Walther LGV Competition Ultra air rifle is accurate. It lives up to its German manufacture and heritage and will keep you shooting for decades. You will never regret buying this air gun!

Accuracy, shot cycle, overall shooting experience. I like that I can place a JSB 18.13gn Exact Jumbo Heavy Diabolo pellet within a 1/2 inch of its intended placement 10 out of 10 times at a lasered 50 yards.

The things that I would change would not improve accuracy or increase the shooting experience and only add cost, so no changes from me.Oh, wait a minute. I had originally crossed the LGV off my list because of the plastic trigger. I imagine that the plastic trigger has cost Walther many sales.I could no longer ignore the reports of its accuracy.I am very happy with my purchase.

Don't let the plastic trigger keep you from buying one of the most accurate and enjoyable to shoot springers on the market. Air rifles that I own: TX200.22,LGV Competition.22, and an Ultimate Sporter.22.

Hi, I am a 13 year old boy, and I now have SUPER FINE QUALITY GERMAN MADE RIFLE! I just barely got it today and can't wait to shoot it when I get home.

I would not change a thing because it is German made, anything German made you can trust.UNLESS IT IS NOT MADE IN GERMANY AND NOT MADE BY A GERMAN(s).

Me and my dad Roberto Martinez and my uncle Carlos thought that PA was a retail store, and we came all the way from Knoxville Tennessee to Solon Ohio by car. But, one supervisor named Erika, helped us out getting our rifles and scopes and pellets. The customer service was the best I had ever seen in a long time. The president of PA, val, admired us from coming all the way from Knoxville to Solon just to buy air rifles and other things from his store. THANK YOU PYRAMYD AIR!

Before you write a review and rate a $700 air rifle, maybe you should look at it and shoot it for a while. Nice story, but, you don't know anything about this LGV. Please don't waste a serious buyers time by cluttering up these reviews when you know nothing kid.

the quality and accuracy

it's a bit heavy, after hundreds shots, I start to feel the way of cocking is a bit cumbersome and the most of all, it's too expensive

Now I feel I should go for Air Arm instead of this one

My LGV Comp. Ultra arrived today so I thought I'd share my first impressions w/ any who are seriously considering this model. 1st off let me say that this is my 1st quality air rifle so I am by no means an authority in this genre of air rifles. Before this I started with the trusty Crosman 397PA. For a while now I have been looking at high quality springers as I was ready to move up and away from having to pump. I read Mr. Gaylord's review about the LGV as well as watched several Youtube reviews and came away knowing that this was a very good gun. So I pulled the trigger and bought one. I was particularly drawn to the LGV based on the unanimous observations of the smoothness of the cocking and general consensus that it has a very quiet and smooth spring firing mechanism. One reviewer said that he thought it might be the finest springer he has ever tested! I was sold. Opening the box I was very pleased to see that my unit had some really beautiful figuring in the beech wood stock! It looks more like walnut! As for my overall first impressions, I am very impressed with the overall quality of this air rifle. The fit and finish is actually much nicer than I was anticipating based on Pyramid's photos. After shooting a few pellets I was surprised at how light the trigger pull is! As a novice used to a tank like Crosman 397 this was like moving a feather! Anyway, I'll post a more detailed review after spending more time w/ it, breaking it in and hopefully mounting a proper cope.

Nothing so far. My expectations were exceeded in this Walther.

This is a fine German engineered and crafted air rifle that, at least by my first impression, rates among the best spring actions out there. It is hefty but that's what you get with a high quality hard wood stocked steel springer.

Anyone purchasing this rifle must understand that it does come from the factory somewhat over lubed. Hence, a little twang and lounder than expected. Take the time to clean the barrel and shoot a tin of pellets through it and you will be rewarded with one of the finest airguns made. Crazy accuracy.

Since this was my first springer I didn't quite realize that the one I got had a twang that was not on par with what you should be getting with an LGV. I subsequently sent this Competition back and instead bought the Ultra. I was pleased to find it solid as a rock without a buzz or twang in the firing cycle of the spring mechanism. Instead there is a solid thud which is more felt than heard. Really all I hear is the pop of the pellet and air leaving the muzzle. Very nice indeed. Bottom line: if you get an LGV with a twang or buzz, I would say that is simply unacceptable based on the 2nd unit I ended up with.
