Things I liked:

The Reign is a short stocky bullpup which is what I liked about it. Very accurate if I do my part. comfortable in the hand and to shoulder. I took whatever they call that thing on the end of barrel and replaced with a custom moderator. It tamed the the barrel report nicely. The hammer mechanism is my biggest complaint. It is "LOUD"! in the shooting position. And I didn't have my hearing aids on! :-(

Things I would have changed:

We should have access to buying the European model of the Walther Reign. Those models are barrel shrouded and end of barrel threaded to receive a moderator of choice. Something I prefer on any gun in this price range and up!

What others should know:

It is a nice bullpup. Just has a loud hammer mechanism bang! I you have normal hearing, you may want to wear ear plugs while shooting the Reign.

Things I liked:

I have two of them, both in 22 caliber. One was purchased from Pyramid Arms and the other from another owner, who had removed the existing moderator. Both air rifles also had modified trigger springs and adjustments were made to the trigger pull. Once the trigger spring is replaced with of a ballpoint pen one, you will have a proper two stage trigger, and the other adjustments detailed in the instruction manual will leave you with a very nice hunting trigger. The pull weight is approximately 1.5 lbs, and is exceptionally smooth for a bullpup design. I also added Boom Mat in both of these air rifles for deadening the recoil impulse heard and felt in the stock. Boom Mat works very well in that regard. Boom mat was placed in the areas in front of and in back of the magazine insert, as well as the two open spaces in the lower rifle stock. The rifles are now very, very quiet with addition of a Donny FL Koi.

Things I would have changed:

Aesthetically and sonically, I would like a shorter, shrouded barrel.

What others should know:

The moderators were removed from both of the new ones (heat the cone and twist the can off. Then use a wrench to loosen the cone until it can be fully unscrewed. This way the moderator is not damaged and can be reused. The magazines are easy to use and cycle the rounds perfectly. I have been using H&N 18.1 grain Barracudas and accuracy is 1/2" out 30 meters. A heavy pellet is required for this air rifle. My chrono showed 960 fps with 37 flbs. I do like the design, balance and handling of the Walther Reign. Once the noise and trigger issues are resolved, it is a pleasure to use and highly accurate. Kudos to both Umarex and Pyramid Arms.

  • Maurice from USA asked:

03-12-2022: Is the barrel shrouded? As of today, the description says yes. It is NOT, this needs to be updated to NO. Look here: https://youtu.be/n8iaDhD8-JE

    • Matt from USA answered:

Yeah Its Ridiculous!! Im sick of the bait and switch tactics from Umarex. They did it with the Hammer. It Was supposed to be able to fire sabots, be in .50 caliber, have removable bottle, a 4 shot chamber mag, be released like 3 years earlier then when they first shipped. Took 3 years of promised shipping dates, It had a non removable bottle, couldn't fire sabots, had a 2 shot mag, and the .50 cal they used was sortve a odd proprietary size and they were riddled with Issues. Now on to the Walther Reign. Same thing. Bait and switch. They showed this Walther Reign at shot show. They said It was regulated, had a beautiful modern choked, shrouded and suppressed Lothar walther Barrel. Then They get them here and Theres no regulator, like all the ones overseas, then Its gets WORSE, The choked, shrouded, and suppressed lothar walther barrel was Then replaced with a Skinny pencil thin exposed barrel, not choked, not suppressed, and not even lothar walther, and it gets worse, they added a cheap, non functioning garbage, useless $5 airsoft "suppressor" or muzzle break which seems plastic and Is epoxied to the barrel. So when you remove It with a heat gun, it mars the finish of the barrel and Its not threaded I believe. So you have to have that done. What a joke. Even Pcp rifles costing $200 now come with threaded, shrouded/suppressed, choked barrels. I was going to buy this even though The stated/promised Regulator wasnt Installed but after they removed the shroud, suppressor, and attached that junk parmenently, Im good! Id rather buy It for a little more In Its awesome Original, choked, shrouded, suppressed design from Kralesport and It will be regulated. This probably wont get "approved" by Pyramyd tho because now they moderate every review and comment now and If you say something they dont like, they wont approve your comments or responses.

    • Kelan from USA answered:

      It is not shrouded

  • Frank M. from USA asked:

Can you put a regulator on this and if so maybe the ninja regulator?

    • Matt from USA answered:

yeah unfortunately when this gun was shown at shot show, It had a regulator, a choked, shrouded and moderated Lothar walther barrel. Then the ones that got Imported to Usa had No reg, no choked, shrouded, and moderated barrel, And I dont believe Its a lothar walther barrel. Now its a pencil thin skinny exposed barrel with a non functioning, $5 plastic looking "suppressor" or muzzle break thats epoxied to the barrel and mars the finish when removing with a heat gun. I also dont believe the barrel Is threaded which would cost a decent amount to get done. You should be able to add a reg but Honestly it would be easier to spend a little more and buy It from Kralesport, shipping to usa Is not bad at all but the price for It would be about $200 more give or take, and It comes Regulated, choked, shrouded and suppressed lothar walther barrel, as It was originally supposed to be. Pyramyd probably wont let me tell you this though as every review and comment is moderated and reviewed now and unless you say "buy from pyramyd!" they delete your comments and responses.

  • Francisco from USA asked:

Hello fellow airgunners. My question is does anyone know or can measure the transfer port (TP) diameter and length? I estimate the diameter to be 0.130" +/-0.015", which can be improved upon. In General: a bigger TP gives more power, but less shot count, or more wasted air, and vice versa until you get to the Vena Cava, which is the point of diminishing returns. Thanks
