I've had the gun for a couple of weeks and I really like. The gun is compact and handles great and being a left hand shooter the ambitious magazine is nice. I haven't found any pellets it doesn't shoot good some a little better than others but none bad. The only negative is the fixed moderator it's not all that quite I would like to be able to put a different one on it, but not a deal breaker. Overall I think it's a very good gun especially for the price.

The nonremovable moderator.

This is a straight shooting, hard hitting, powerful air rifle. I love the look and the feel. The fore grip is super comfy. The cocking lever is more forward than other pups and is smooth as glass. The ambidextrous features are nice even for a righty. The magazine is well built, easy to load, and loads from the left or the right. The barrel is fantastic. The gun is super accurate, that's always a big plus, right. I'm not absolutely in love with the trigger, however, don't let it put you off there is nothing wrong with it unless you are an utter trigger snob. With a little work the trigger is quite nice. The stock is solid and doesn't make funny noises while operating the rifle. This has quickly become one of my favorite rifles.

I would have a foster fill fitting on the side of the rifle instead of a fill probe. Other than that, it's a solid gun.

Make sure you cock the rifle before you fill it the first time. There's a bit of fuss over the trigger, I don't see it. It's fine OOB and can be made better easily enough. There is also some fuss over the muzzle break. It's not a moderator and does not easily come off and requires barrel modification to get it off. All that being said it really isn't that loud. So, unless you need complete silence I wouldn't worry much about it.

Quality, light weight.

Solid stock or cover all of those screw holes. To be Regulated.

It doesn't affect me because I don't have the property/area, so sound is not an issue for me however I do get that others would like to be able to remove the monterator without sending out to be machined? It is a $500. Mid priced PCP.

I have had this rifle for several weeks now. I also purchased the Umerex NOTOS in .22 cal. I had PCP rifles several years ago but lost all to tragedy I am 72yo so my interest has changed to this being, 'just for fun' PCPs have much improved. Rifles are very expensive. I would have liked the FX Wildcat MK3, however these best fits my wants. This was a good choice. I have a bullpup and a pistol with stock. Their weight was also a factor in selecting the NOTOS is about 4 pounds and, the Reign is about 7. Both will gain about 1.5 pounds with scope. I highly recommend both. Great fun factor. I do enjoy them both for various, but separate reasons. Compare the specs. Both are a good buy, both shoot very well. Must experiment with different pellets to fit your desires. I am more about close range target out to 30 yards. I highly recommend both. If I could have only one, I would keep the NOTOS. It is light with less mass. But the Raign has a longer accurate range.

I have only one thing to suggest on the Reign magazine. On the rotating part mark the sides with a paint stripe so you can know when you are on the last pellet. Simple to do. I bought 5 mags.

it is a heavy rifle, but that also has some advantages and means a more structurally sound design. However, the other PCP bullpups have similar weights from 7 to 10 pounds. The more expensive rifles all require attentions which can result in more time, adjustment, expenses which can reduce the fun factor. Can you hunt with it? Yes. of course. But if you are buying for hunting then spend more money.

The Reign is a short stocky bullpup which is what I liked about it. Very accurate if I do my part. comfortable in the hand and to shoulder. I took whatever they call that thing on the end of barrel and replaced with a custom moderator. It tamed the the barrel report nicely. The hammer mechanism is my biggest complaint. It is "LOUD"! in the shooting position. And I didn't have my hearing aids on! :-(

We should have access to buying the European model of the Walther Reign. Those models are barrel shrouded and end of barrel threaded to receive a moderator of choice. Something I prefer on any gun in this price range and up!

It is a nice bullpup. Just has a loud hammer mechanism bang! I you have normal hearing, you may want to wear ear plugs while shooting the Reign.

I have two of them, both in 22 caliber. One was purchased from Pyramid Arms and the other from another owner, who had removed the existing moderator. Both air rifles also had modified trigger springs and adjustments were made to the trigger pull. Once the trigger spring is replaced with of a ballpoint pen one, you will have a proper two stage trigger, and the other adjustments detailed in the instruction manual will leave you with a very nice hunting trigger. The pull weight is approximately 1.5 lbs, and is exceptionally smooth for a bullpup design. I also added Boom Mat in both of these air rifles for deadening the recoil impulse heard and felt in the stock. Boom Mat works very well in that regard. Boom mat was placed in the areas in front of and in back of the magazine insert, as well as the two open spaces in the lower rifle stock. The rifles are now very, very quiet with addition of a Donny FL Koi.

Aesthetically and sonically, I would like a shorter, shrouded barrel.

The moderators were removed from both of the new ones (heat the cone and twist the can off. Then use a wrench to loosen the cone until it can be fully unscrewed. This way the moderator is not damaged and can be reused. The magazines are easy to use and cycle the rounds perfectly. I have been using H&N 18.1 grain Barracudas and accuracy is 1/2" out 30 meters. A heavy pellet is required for this air rifle. My chrono showed 960 fps with 37 flbs.

I do like the design, balance and handling of the Walther Reign. Once the noise and trigger issues are resolved, it is a pleasure to use and highly accurate. Kudos to both Umarex and Pyramid Arms.

When I first saw the Reign, it was shrouded with threads for a moderator. I didn't know I was looking at the UK version. I just recently purchased one and very disappointed with the UXT version. It is very accurate. I removed the fake suppressor and exposed the 1/2 UNF threads to add a donnyFL Ronin. My only complaint is the loudness of the gun. Had it been shrouded like the UK version, this would had made all the difference in the world. Even the Ronin couldn't tame the report that much. I even filled in the spaces in the hollow stock and it didn't help. It's just not backyard friendly unless you live on a ranch or farm with no neighbors close by! The shooting mechanism is very loud to add to the problem. Without the loudness, it would be a five star, but for now it might be a three star!

I see now that the barrel Is threaded but to me, Id rather buy the original, beautiful regulated version for slightly more From Kralesport. Shipping to usa is nothing but the cost of the gun is about $200 more, but comes regulated, and barrel is Choked, shrouded and suppressed true Lothar walther barrel. Not sure If this will get "approved" as pyramid is now moderating and approving or denying comments, questions, reviews.

Matt May 12, 2022

I really think Umarex Fudged this up. When this gun was shown at shot show, it had a choked, shrouded and moderated barrel, It was regulated, had a lothar walther barrel. The shroud and suppressor were nice high quality. Then It finally comes to the states and Pyramyd changed the pics and stats representing this Walther Reign. It did not have a regulator, as the overseas models everywhere have, It did not have a shrouded, choked and moderated barrel like all the overseas models have and I believe Its not even a lothar walther barrel. In place of the beautiful modern shroud and suppressor they have a exposed pencil thin barrel with a Useless, Garbage, non functioning $5 dollar airsoft moderator that looks plastic. I know the junk Moderator can be removed with a heat gun but I dont believe the barrel Is threaded and It will surely get marred up removing the junk moderator. I WAS GOING TO BUY THIS, Even If It no longer had the regulator, but had the Nice shroud, and moderator, but not now

There is one more thing I would have changed. There is no way to tell how many shots have been fired in any given magazine because there are no markings on them. I am going to drill a small hole over the first loading point and fill it with red nail polish. This way I will be able to tell at a glance if I have reached the end of a loaded magazine.

Super accurate, good shot count within the sweet spot. IMO the best psp out there in this price range.

Removeable moderator is a must. Honestly I preferred the look of the original model with the removeable moderator and the barrel shroud. Not a big fan of the pencil barrel at all. Bring that style back, add another inch or two to the barrel length and add an adjustable buttstock for length of pull and this little bullpup will take over the market. Honestly I'd buy another .22 in a minute and add the .25 to the fleet instantly if these changes ever get made.

Just remember the price point and what your buying. If you want a dual regulated pcp with all the bells and whistles,..buy an FX for 2k,...if you want a heck of good rifle for the $$$ this one is hard to beat

Matt Nov 25, 2021

Jay, the original walther reign was shown at shot show and was stated that It was REGULATED. Also It was shown at shot show and shown here for preorder, with a SHROUDED AND MODERATED BARREL with removable endcap over threads to add your own, like a nice donnyfl. When they got them In stock It was confirmed The usa models werent regulated and the pictures were changed to show a little pencil thin barrel with a cheap garbage non functioning and useless airsoft type moderator permanently affixed to the barrel. As I stated Umarex has done this plenty of times and the Umarex Hammer Is the same situation. The hammer is a pos. People were promised things and told things and the production model was nothing like what we were promised. The Hammer was supposed to have a removable bottle, be able to fire sabots, have a 4 shot clip/magazine and was supposed to be in .50 caliber. People waited years, then got non removable bottle, no sabots, smaller mag and not in .50 cal with limited ammo choices.

Jay May 06, 2021

You don't seem good, matt, did you buy this rifle? Just wondering because you can clearly see it the barrel is rather narrow from the images.

Tony Apr 24, 2021

Matt...100% agree. People can say you get alot for the money, but you don't. For the price this gun should have a regulator and everyone knows by now a proper bullpup is shrouded and a proper suppressor is baffled. I can buy a Kral or Hatsan bullpup and install a Huma, Lane, or some other aftermarket regulator and still spend less than what I did on my .25 Reign. I'm not anti China, but I treasure my stuff that says made in Germany and Japan and the parts Walther got right are high quality. It's an innovative and rugged gun, but who's ever making the final decisions at Walther needs to be fired. What a waste of good potential.

Matt Mar 29, 2021

It's so sad we keep letting umarex do this. They did the same thing with the hammer which is POS and not at all like the prototype and promises made. When this walther reign gun was at show and unveiled, it was shown with and told it would come with a regulator and the barrel was a nice shrouded barrel with threaded end. Now when the gun Is finely being sent to market, NO regulator! And some BS pencil barrel with a USELESS garbage airsoft junk toy quality moderator permanently affixed to the barrel. I would find a way to get rid of it and make it nicer looking and functioning better with a donny fl but I just am soured by umarex now. They screwed me on the hammer I waited 4-5 years for now this too. I'm good.

Length and design

It needs to be fully shrouded The gun is to loud

Tim Dec 25, 2021

I made a mistake giving a overall rating of one star as well as value, after making several purchases of various rifles. My knowledge of PCPs have grown the Walther rates right up there with other bull pups

Paul May 15, 2021

It's "too" loud, not "to" loud. Giving the rifle one star over that is pretty silly.
