The high cost of entry has always been a drawback for airgunners wanting to get into PCPs, but that is about to change!  Recent DOT Special Permit 16320 now allows Life Extended (LE) carbon fiber tanks to be used for an additional 15 years, for up to 30 years total.  So a tank made in 2000 that would have previously expired in 2015, can potentially be used up to 2030 once life extended!  Learn more about the Life Extension process here!

These carbon fiber SCBA tanks undergo rigorous testing by Digital Wave Corporation.  Digital Wave Corp. is also the only testing facility for these LE tanks, and just like a brand new tank, they must be recertified every 5 years from their Life Extended date.  So a tank Life Extended in 2017, would need to recertified with MAE testing in 2022 to continue service.  MAE (Modal Acoustic Emission) is a revolutionary new process for testing SCBA tanks that took 5 years to develop and gain DOT approval.  This testing is about the same cost as a standard hydro test, plus shipping and handling to Digital Wave Corp. in Colorado.  Learn more about MAE Testing here!

LE tanks are available in three sizes, 44 cubic foot, 66 cubic foot and 88 cubic foot.  They are also available with different amounts of years of service left, based upon the original date of manufacture.  You can browse tanks by size or number of years left to see what options are available.  All of the LE tanks come with a brand new DIN 300 valve, 24" microbore hose and a stainless steel female quick disconnect fitting to attach to your PCP airguns!
