Ballistol Lube, Non-Aerosol, 4oz

Works well, I put some on a patch and ran it through a new barrel and a little dirt was present. I let that damp bore sit for a while why I did a few other things and then ran another patch through and it came out almost black. Kept going til things were clean, so much for the new clean barrel theory. Buy this and use it.

Get the barrel interior moistened with Ballistol and let it sit for a little while and then continue cleaning; stuff works well.

It works; I have what are called "rusty fingers" where my perspiration is acidic; which means that whatever I touch tends to rust... This is the first oil that I have used that seems to negate that phenomenon, I even use it on my Starrett micrometers now.

Price; a tad expensive but it doesn't take much.

It does smell... It fades after a time; but it does smell...

I like the non aerosol, so I can just slit a small opening in the plastic lid under the cap, and allow a small drop to form for application onto patches, swabs, finger, what ever you use to apply the Ballistol. Its a very good cleaner and removes gunk good.

They need to make this in a plastic bottle with a fine point tip, and extension that you can pull out to reach tighter or hard to reach areas.

This oil will help to prevent rust on steel and I have not yet seen where it has hurt the wood stocks.

Cleans the fingerprints better than normal gun oil as far as I can tell. Biodegradable and non-toxic is a major plus in my book. Unlike normal gun oil, it leaves only a very fine residual coating. I worry less about damaging o-rings and seals compared to more aggressive solvents.

If I had known there was a 16 oz size for way cheaper per ounce, I would have bought that! Next time, the 16 ouncer for sure. Hence, 4oz size rated down on "Value for money".

I was using Hoppe's #9 with cleaner pellets. But the folks on AirgunWarriors forums said that Hoppe's is for powder residues and can damage o-rings and seals on an airgun. Truth or fiction? Who knows? But I have more confidence using this stuff. I also use it to wipe down the blued parts after a shooting session to remove the fingerprints. I'll stop short of saying it's a panacea.

This oil is the best to clean.

I've been using Ballistol for years on Weihrauch airguns and antique rifles. I use the spray and the non-aerosol. This stuff is the BEST! It keeps wood and metal lightly lubed and protected, and is safe for synthetic seals. It has also proven to be a good lube for trigger units. I also like that it's skin-safe and biodegradable.

PLEASE don't change anything with this product!

Love this stuff! 1/ good for almost all parts of the gun. Don't have to worry about attacking plastic, paint, varnish, etc. 2/ evaporates & leaves a protective film.

i have seen others, eezox, frog something and i would say check youtube vids on anti corrosions for metal/guns and then pick your favorite.
