When a seer lever wears out it wears out, 20000 rounds give or take and it was time. How would one come to this conclusion? If the cylinder screw is snug and a round slam fires because the pistol doesnt cock and it should have is a pretty good indicator. This replacement fits perfectly and drops right in.
Things I Would Have ChangedI was unsure if I was mechanically adept enough and had the eyesight to find any of the small bits that could potentially fly out when I dug into the trigger bar but it turns out it was very straightforward. I do wish there were some good tutorials online to refer to but the diagram on pyramid airs website made it easy enough.
What Others Should KnowIf your cylinder retention screw has a habit of backing out or you put enough rounds through the gun chances are good your seer lever is getting a pretty good beating. I am using blue loc tight to keep that little guy in now to avoid a repeat performance from poor gun hygiene. While I was at it I changed out my mainspring, cleaned and lubed the recommended bits and replaced my broken hammer (thumb release was stubbed from an accidental drop incident years ago). Gun cocks just like it is supposed to and a joy to shoot as always. Such a great gun.
Drop fit right in. Wore out the original seer lever and the gun would no longer cock. Not sure how many rounds, if I had to guess around 20000 rounds? Had the gun since 2004. Really glad to have a replacement seer lever available. Very easy replacement part.
Things I Would Have ChangedNot a thing
What Others Should KnowThere are no instructions to be found for replacing the seer lever. I did the job while replacing the mainspring and the hammer and it went very smooth.

Original had worn out. This item is an exact fit and dropped right in. Very simple operation to replace.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt is great that there are a lot of instructions both print and video on how to service the mainspring, piston, and even optimizing trigger pull. But there is nothing about trigger assembly or seer repair/replacement. However, if you are confident performing mainspring and piston maintenance, replacing the seer lever is quite easy to do. It would be great to have more tutorials available for the home mechanic.
What Others Should KnowGun has a lot of rounds through it. Recently the cylinder lock screw had started coming loose unnoticed resulting in a very dangerous and surprising slam fire condition on some occasions and/or failure to cock and clam shelling shut (luckily felt it happening and prevented it from actually slapping back down hard). I finally used blue lock tight on the screw to stop that problem but the gun started failing to cock regardless. I am thankful PyramidAir had a P1 schematic and a replacement seer lever available. After reviewing the schematic I made an educated guess that it was a worn lever. It does require removing the compression cylinder to get to the seer lever, once there it is a simple task of removing one circlip from the retaining pin and carefully removing the trigger bar. Careful not to disturb the seer lever spring position or lose that tiny circlip, the trigger bar pin slides easily out the other side so do not remove the other circlip.
