Gun Takes type96 internals pulls back pretty easy,nice weight,well balanced.

Be aware if you change the piston,the trigger will have to be changed also,the factory sear will not catch on the piston.Gun has a aluminum piston in it stock anyway,I changed to a j j airsoft hop up,a 6.01 barrel,and a angel custom cyl,Teflon coated and my gun shoots 550fps with .20 bb which is field limit where I live.p.s. Teflon tape on the cyl. Head helps seal it up nice I will probably change to a action army zero trigger,and ported piston in the future.gun shoots 485 with .30bb and 435 fps with .40 bbs

Gun shot 505 fps right out the box,with 20g bb and shot 390/385 with 40g.Comes with 2 mags.

Would be nice to have a tight bore barrel

Even though it comes with a scope I opted to go with a bigger one with a better recticle

Got off 10 shots before it stopped firing, only clicking after working bolt and pulling trigger...during the first and only 10 rounds, I found the SD97 to be powerful and accurate...the scope supplied was clear and easy to adjust, I almost had the rifle precisely zeroed before it broke down.

Obviously, I wish the SD97 proved to be much more durable. I would have preferred a simpler stock.

Save the original box and packing materials that come with your shipment, until you're pretty sure you don't need to ship the gun back for defects, especially for something as large as the SD97. While Pyramyd has been really responsive in furnishing free return shipping via FedEx, it was still a hassle to repack the rifle and to get it to FedEx...the box is pretty huge and clumsy to handle. I don't think I will be ordering a rifle online for a while.

Well mine broke in 3 days. I believe it is that a my safety has jammed but it will not shoot. If this is a rare thing i definitely recommend this gun.

This gun is very accurate. You have to use .3g bbs to really get the most out of this gun though. The scope that comes with it is a good scope, not the best but its really good for being an additional item in the box. Pretty heavy so be cautious, I would recommend getting a folding bipod. I used this outdoors with a strong headwind and still got some pretty decent shots.

Very good gun. Utterly useless at CQB but thats to be expected. Very accurate as well. I popped a soda can from about 60 yrds 3 times in a row with this thing. Be careful with the pullback on the bolt, as it can be hard at first.

Very good power out of the box. Great looks. Entered an all-day airsoft war and everyone had an L96. This was unique and people liked the look of it. Nice weight. Chrono was showing up to 480 with .28's which is amazing (as is from the box). A good 100 to 150 fps faster than the next best sniper on the field. If anything next time I'll use higher weight (.3 or .4 even) to get better accuracy.

Opened the box and the bb's it came with were strewn throughout. I'm sure they were garbage anyway but bag was broken. Poor directions for putting together but it's actually a very simple procedure. I'd like to see more about cleaning and maintaining the gun. It's easy to use and put together - but what about maintenance? May be too hard to pull back for 10 and under. I have no issue but my kids it takes all their might. No idea how to zero the scope - directions on that would have been nice. It's fairly accurate but could use an adjustment - I just don't know how (will look on YouTube).

High power - hard hitting. Good looks. So far so good - no issues.

Better instructions. Quite vague on assembling this. Pictures are nice, but it took a bit to figure exactly which screws did what. We also had an issue with the pin falling out for the rail attachment retainer. A simple drop of glue once put back together solved this, but it seems this is a manufacturing oversight. The lever and spring could easily be lost if this occurs in the field.
