Ergonomics of the stock
Things I would have changed:Trigger, Accuracy, Air tank
What others should know:I've shot the rifle enough to get through any break in period. With 5 shot strings I'm getting inch and half groups at 10 meters. I have an Anschutz 8001 that does quarter inch at that distance. I know the Fortitude is a lot cheaper, but inch and a half is not acceptable. That would mean missing a shot on a squirrel. Part of it is the trigger. It is awkwardly long and hard to pull. It actually hurts my wrist when I'm concentrating on accuracy. The other problem is that the tank loses air. I put it up with north of 2000 psi, and a couple of days later, it's down to 1000. I hand pump, so that's no fun. I called Customer Service, and the guy had me checking all kinds of things and wants me to take the barrel band of and see if that improves things. I kind of just want to put it in the box, send it to them and have them figure it out. I'm bummed I didn't go for the Umarex Gauntlet. And now the Umarex Origin is another option with an adjustable trigger.

There are a lot of things I love about this rifle. For one, it is extremely accurate, second the shot count is amazing (120 rounds!), and lastly it is quiet.
Things I would have changed:The only thing I would change is I wish the barrel was gloss versus the matte black. The matte black just picks up dust. However, it does not impede it's performance and is cosmetic only.
What others should know:I've had this rifle for several months, and shot over 5,000+ rounds and no problems. In comparison to my Marauder, I think it shoots a bit more accurate, and it's a bit quieter. Not to mention the shot count. Buy lots of ammo and magazines, as you'll need it. It's very addictive to shoot.

Overall the gun is fun to shoot. I noticed that I would get a flyer on a pretty regular basis at about 20 yards. B
Things I would have changed:As with a lot of people a wood stock would be nice, but overall I like the feel of the gun. You have to be pretty careful when loading the breach. Any break in concentration or balking with the action will load two pellets. When in doubt, pull the mag and waste the shot. I had a jamb which cost me a magazine.
What others should know:Now for the horror story.
On June 4, 2020 I ordered my first Fortitude Gen 2. I received the rifle and it worked fine for a while with the exception that every mag had a flier in it. I don't really know if was my pellets or the barrel. One of the video reviewers had a similar issue and sent the rifle back for re-crowning. In a shot time the rifle would not hold pressure. I sent it back for a replacement.
On August 14, 2020 my second Fortitude Gen 2, was shipped. I received the rifle with zero pressure showing on the gauge. I pumped it up to 3000 psi and let it sit overnight. It had lost about 1000 psi overnight. So I returned the rifle for replacement.
On Sept. 29, 2020 my third Fortitude Gen 2 was shipped. I received the rifle today, 10/03/2020, and gauge read zero. I filled the rifle to 3000 psi and put it down, in less than 30 minutes the gauge showed 2200 psi.
I am pretty ticked off. We are looking at more than 4 months of waiting for a working rifle.

Very light weight, adjustable HS.
Things I would have changed:Trigger is plastic and creepy, air cylinder band not connected to the shroud not supported you never know you can accidentally bump the chroud.
What others should know:Gen 2 .177 still hard to cock, leaking air that's why I returned it. Also at first pellets jamming hard to remove the mags to clear it after the jammed. Another issue not firing just a click from HS. I changed the pellets no more jammed and not firing is fix. But, it leaks badly 3k psi after one hr it only be 1.6k psi after 4hrs it will leak another 200 psi, I only have hand pump :)

Price was good, action is smooth, ergonomics are good. I've been very pleased with accuracy and effectiveness as a small game gun. Efficient and hand-pump friendly.
Things I would have changed:I'll probably get an aftermarket trigger instead of the plastic one it comes with. Stock fit to gun was not good out of the box - took some fitting. Finish looks cheap.
What others should know:With very modest tuning (no aftermarket parts, all adjustments) I've got a really nice shooter for the money.

Shroud barrel with baffles = backyard friendly
Things I would have changed:Add more weight to the rifle or wood stock
What others should know:My air rifle is great. I'm using Crosman Piranhas and it's fairly accurate at 20 yards. I did some unscientific measuring and found the bore diameter to be at about 5.50mm and barrel twist rate at 1:20" or 1:21". I kept getting both numbers when I ran multiple tests. I measured the Crosman Piranha head diameter and found that the 5.52mm head diameter to be more accurate compared to other head sizes. To each their own.

The rifle is accurate, light, and gives a crazy amount of shots per fill. Great for plinking or FT in .177
Things I would have changed:Offer a wood stock option. A metal trigger.
What others should know:Glad I waited for the gen2. The Trigger is better and the cocking is smooth Compared to Gen 1

I own a Fortitude in .177, and love it. It is my go-to rifle for squirrels, chipmunks and other pests. It is dead-on accurate out to 40 yards. I love it so much that I sold my Marauder. So, when it came to ordering a .22, I bought a Fortitude, but was extremely disappointed. The power plant is great for .177 but not enough for a .22. The shots were simply too slow. I know the .22 is slower than the .177, but this was "too" slow. I could see the pellets through the scope, and could see them dropping at only 25 yds. I could actually set the scope for accuracy at that distance (or other distances), but with the drooping trajectory, the rifle was inaccurate at any distance other than the zeroed distance.
Things I would have changed:Adjust power supply, and/or regulator settings, for each caliber offered. Or, offer the rifle in only the calibers that are effective.
What others should know:Perfect in .177.

Good value for the money. Accurate and quiet enough for backyard plinking. Getting 100+ shots in .177 per fill after dialing hammer spring down a little (2 turns).
Things I would have changed:for the price point - there's not much more to ask for. Some trigger adjustment would be a nice feature if it could be integrated without major price increase.

Nearly everything. But I'm not a picky airgunner. That I can get 65+ very accurate, very backyard friendly 735fps shots from one fill.
Things I would have changed:The stock is plastic so i wish there was some rubberized grip or butt pad of some sort.
What others should know:I can see why folks don't like the trigger but it's a $300 gun. You won't regret this. I regret getting my Gauntlet how. Wish I had gotten this first.

Returned first gun, after receiving the first Fortitude on 03/31/2020, Out of the Box, I noticed that the Air Gauge read EMPTY, Zero air, that was the first clue that I had a Problem Gun. I aired the gun up to 2000psi, and let it sit for three days it leaked down From 2000psi Dow to 1500psi in three days, this is Unacceptable for a out of the box New rifle. I did shoot it a little for a couple of days, and it seemed accurate. I setup a return with Pyramyd air for a return due to defect. Here it is 05/12/2020 I dont have an answer as to what is going on, or if they even have a Fortitude that doesn't Leak. I request a 10 shot for $10.00 on the second Gun and would suggest this, and a Leak Down test over a three day period. I expect that they cannot find a Good Non-Leaking Gun. This Problem is Crosman's Problem, and a Very Poor Deburring of the Air tube, during Assembly. I have a Marauder gen.2 in .22cal and a Marauder Pistol in .22cal, Neither one leaked out of the box or has ever leaked
Things I would have changed:Crosman, Needs to fix this Problem, and needs to Either air up their guns to 2000psi, for at least 3 days before shipment for a leak down test. Or Deburr and Cleanout Inside the Air tube before assembly.
What others should know:Pyramyd is doing what ever they can, during these difficult times, and they seemed to be incredibly Overwhelmed currently, but almost 2 months is a Little frustrating. This is a Ongoing Crosman Problem, that started from the Gen1 Fortitude, per airgun Forum discussion and is still a Problem on Gen.2 Fortitudes. Crosman needs to step up and fix their Manufacturing Problem with the Fortitude. I dont want this experience to taint this gun for me, and Hope I can get a good one, after all this. I will review the New gun once I receive it and do my own testing of it.

The Benjamin Fortitude Gen 2 in .177 is an extremely accurate air rifle with good velocity, great shot count, decent fit and finish, good regulator, and a workable trigger. Both of mine have delivered 1/4 in CTC groups at 50 yards. Velocity is 880 fps +- 10 fps with 8 gr pellets, and 770 fps +-6 fps with 10 gr pellets.
Things I would have changed:Crossman QC and service. My original Fortitude Gen 2 had a slow leak from the factory. It lost air down to about 1200 PSI, and then wouldn't lose any more. If charged back up, it would lose pressure down to 1200 PSI again. I contacted Crosman and returned it for warranty repair. I received it back several weeks later in pretty rough shape with the same slow leak. Crosman wouldn't return my emails for 2+ weeks. Pyramid Air let me send it back for exchange, and the new one has worked perfectly.
What others should know:If you are looking for the ultimate power house, this is NOT for you. If you are looking for an inexpensive, solid, accurate, 13-14 foot-pound, .177 air gun, this is the one you need. If Crosman had better customer service, I wouldn't have taken a star away from the overall rating. Pyramid Air is one of the best companies ever, and they truly care about customer service.

Very quiet, accurate after the first 500 rounds, possible breaking in the regulator and a trigger spring change, most likely just my getting better with the gun. Price was nice. Using the Hill pump. I thought it would be difficult, but is easy. Get my exercise on range days. I get about 80 usable/accurate shots on a fill target shooting. Hunting days a fill lasts me a few days.
Things I would have changed:Trigger. I changed out the trigger spring, and man it shot like a different gun.
What others should know:The Fortitude has surpassed my expectations. Taking clean humane head shots at 45-50 yards consistently on squirrels (have 50 acres with a gazillion pest squirrels). Day before yesterday while practicing at 50 yards with a steel spinning target (came with the gun from Pyramyd Air as bonus), a squirrel ran behind the target between shots, settled down at the base of a tree within a few yards of the target. Well, dirt nap for that rascal. Taking all my shots with the Crosman Dome and Hollow point 14.3 gr pellets with outstanding accuracy. I would recommend to anyone just getting into the Air Gun Sport.

It's light, almost too light. I put a Hatsan 3 by 9 by 40 AO on it added a bit of weight.I had some learning curve issues with this weapon due to magazine problems, trying to be cheap and use the magazine from my broken gauntlet ,don't do that! I threw it in a dumpster roughly and then retrieved it. I literally beat this weapon to get the broken magazine out. After all this it still managed to function, so I resighted the scope in and I got six more months out of it until something happened with the next magazine and the bolt couldn't take any more abuse.
Things I would have changed:Make the pellet seater attached to the bolt a little stronger I broke mine.
What others should know:This thing is really quiet and extremely accurate and with a 12 to 14 grain pellet in it it's deadly for small ,small game. If you take care of this gun it would probably last a while. It's also pretty hand pump friendly.

I liked everything. The plastic stock and trigger felt good. It is light weight. It is accurate, and not pellet fussy. Easy to pump. And, it is quiet.
Things I would have changed:Wish it had open sights.
What others should know:I got the 10 for 10. Get the 10 for 10. I have about 2000 rounds through it. I love this rifle. I shoot in my backyard, 20 yards. It is quiet, and accurate. I did put a lighter spring in the trigger, and now it is a great 2 stage trigger. It holds air. It is not pellet fussy. I have a Diana 34 panther, and a HW 30. This rifle is a great addition.
