Its got a good size grips for my big hands just not a fan of the plastic.
Things I Would Have ChangedSights
it's not a replica but you sure will have fun. (plinking). The gun has a metal slide with a beautiful finish.
Things I Would Have Changedtrigger distance, I think this is far from the body of the gun
What Others Should Knowit has a good weight and reasonable handling, the trigger is heavy, but you can make a good shot after you get used to it.
Received Umarex Beretta APX + Spare Mag + Dust Devil Frangeable 0.177 Cal BBs today. Overall first impressions are excellent. Installed a CO2. Loaded 2 Magazines. Had to be within 6 feet to penetrate one side of thick metal Scrubbing Bubbles can with steel BBs. One magazine all steel, one magazine alternating steel / frangeable. 1 inch group in cardboard. Works well so far. Need a chronograph because I am curious if the BBs ar coming out at/near the advertised 395 FPS . Will try empty bean can with third magazine using CO2 left overnight. Got 40 robust shots so far. This inexpensive [not field strippable] APX worked well so far - you get some blowback action. slide locks open on last shot, it is accurate enough, and has power to penetrate thick wall metal can up close. DAO Trigger pull is a bit heavy, but a correct grip technique mitigates that so shot placement is still good. Shots are very close to POA not using any rest. The stick mag isn't 'real' but it loads well.
Things I Would Have ChangedLet me preface this with 'the gun is a $60 - $70 'replica''. So . . . the real APX has the Glock-Like Trigger Safety, but this Umarex substitutes a push-slide-button located where the real-gun Take-Down lever far-side protrusion is. The Slide spring is very light and could be stronger - but then more gas energy would be expended to move the slide which would give fewer shots per CO2 cartridge, or result in a significantly lower muzzle velocity than the advertised 395 FPS, or both. Field-strip capability would be neat, but . . . it IS a $70 gun.
What Others Should KnowThis gun was my second choice. I was disappointed in the two expensive comparatively weak FPS Umarex Beretta M9A3s that failed and I sent back - Pyramyd Air made that a painless process. I really wanted to like it, but finally decided I wanted more than 330 FPS, especially after the disappointing experience with the failures. This Umarex APX doesn't have the unique look of the Beretta M9A3 or the 92, but it makes up for that by having a good amount of power [395 FPS] and has blowback with last-shot lock open behavior, is fairly accurate, and overall satisfies my desire for a bit of realism. A good buy.

What Others Should KnowLiked it so much I got another for my kid
Looks and feels good.
Things I Would Have ChangedToo early to tell. Probably wouldn't change anything.
What Others Should KnowBought for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. It is a little big for his hands but he shoots it pretty good. I need to get a couple more mags for him and I have to put the CO2 in for him. Nice pistol for the money.
Weight and feel. Easy loading and operation.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe slide rattles noticeably when handling the gun. Tolerances between the two are not very tight.
What Others Should KnowThis is a full size gun and seems to be a faithful replica of the actual firearm. However, the trigger pull is rather heavy and the distance between the trigger and the backstrap is rather long. I have average size hands and it is difficult to fire this airgun repeatedly. If the trigger were a fraction of an inch further to the rear it would be perfect. Not having fired the actual APX, I do not know if this is a function of it being an airgun or a replica.
I like just about everything about the gun, except for the weak spring. It is ergonomic, has a good shot count (3 1/2- 4mags), and a nice blowback action, simulating the powder burner. This gun can be a perfect trainer for someone with this powder burn or if you just like the Beretta name, style and the way it looks and works.
Things I Would Have ChangedWeak spring, butplate on mag comes off and must be reglued, may have gotten a faulty mag. make the clip a full mag with self-contained CO2 compartment, and a better piercing system. Make it pellet with the full velocity allowed by law. also make this gun ''field stripable'...and you will have a 10 star gun.
What Others Should KnowGood gun. You will be happy you got it. The weak spring can be fixed, after the warranty period, or if you're Really Brave; you can take the two top frame pins out that hold the slide, and stretch the spring -which will stop the rattle and give it a solid blow-back feel. This has been my favorite gun, I've had Glock and other pistols, this one remains a favorite so far. Get one, but be careful it looks exactly like Police service revolver, except for the open hole in bottom of mag., ( powder burner has a rubber grommet in the clip buttplate hole), thats the only obvious difference at close range. Warning markings are under trigger guard and must look close to see. Great gun!
It was a decent pistol to use for target practice. Great accuracy.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe slide is like die cast metal. Very cheap. But they did that to increase blowback realism. Also, the co2 chamber needs to be completely re designed. The thumb screw is a bad sign if you purchase a pistol with one. It can break easily as well as not hold a strong seal with the cartridge. They should have made the magazine with a hex key to tighten better. The whole pistol should be redesigned. Then it would be awesome.
What Others Should KnowThe pistol lasted for about 1800 rounds. Then it had co2 leaking issues as well as a small piece of metal breaking off in the slide area due to the cheap metal. This explains the reduction in sale price. When I bought it, it was $100.
Umarex has released another very good replica of a modern firearm. Despite the non-functioning, molded-in take down lever and the stick magazine, I really like this APX BB pistol. For my hand, the grip is just about a perfect fit and is very comfortable. As a right handed shooter, the safety is very easy to operate with my trigger finger. Although the open ejection port is not essential to a BB pistol, I like that added touch of realism. The blowback is strong, but not too strong. While a bit long and heavy, the double action trigger has a very distinct and consistent "click" just before the pistol fires that makes it easy to quickly pull back to that click point before adjusting aim and firing. The white dot sights make aiming easy, and the APX shoots to point of aim. Accuracy is very good. At 18 feet to target, Umarex steel BBs produced a 10 shot group of 1.6" with 9 of the 10 shots within 1".
Things I Would Have ChangedI like the stick magazine because it is very easy to load, but I would also like to see a full size BB / CO2 magazine for the APX.
What Others Should KnowI shot 10 shot groups of the following BBs from a bench rest at 18 feet to target: Umarex Steel, 1.6"; Copperhead, 1.5"; Black Diamond, 1.6"; Daisy Premium, 1.5"; Smart Shot, 2.9"; and Avanti, 1.8". The APX performed very well without malfunctions. Some BBs, like the Smart Shot, are not a good choice for this pistol. The trigger is double action only. The blowback slide does not cock the pistol. As the trigger is pulled back, the 0.177 barrel actually moves forward until the sear releases at which time the barrel snaps back. The slide does lock back after the final shot when the magazine is empty. Total shot count for one Umarex CO2 was 90 when the slide failed to lock back on the empty magazine, but I recommend stopping at about 80 shots. I highly recommend this APX pistol. Get one. You won't regret it.
