Description
The Gletcher Tokarev TT 1941 Non-Blowback CO2 BB Pistol was engineered by incorporating the details of the classic Soviet military service sidearm that was designed as a replacement for the previous revolver. It has maximum velocities of up to 394 FPS and gives shooters what they need for effective target practice and backyard plinking.
This air pistol uses the familiar hammer design and lanyard ring of the firearm, combined with the full-metal frame and full-metal slide, to provide nearly the same look and feel of the military version. Powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge stored under the left grip panel, it also features checkered wood-look polymer grips that help it to resemble models of the TT gun from prior to World War II.
This is a non-blowback version of the Gletcher Tokarev TT 1941, and as such, it delivers higher power and more shots from the CO2 cartridge that results in more time shooting and less time switching cartridges. For added accuracy, this BB gun uses a fixed rear notch sight and a fixed front blade sight like the original, and it also features a very similar weight and almost the same weight as the firearm.
This air gun provides an incredibly realistic shooting experience due to the fact that it simulates the operation of the military model very successfully. I wanted to slightly revise my earlier review as far as accuracy goes. My cell phone still had the Pyramyd request for a review on it so I thought I should change my earlier opinion on accuracy. After putting in the second CO2 cartridge in I put the TT Tula Takarev through its paces. It was consistently accurate it sites just a bit low I. e. When you site it at 6 o’clock it shoots low but if you aim at the middle of the clock I hit the target every time, with consistent grouping.
Things I Would Have ChangedI’d prefer a drop out magazine including the CO2 like the Majatov Ultra but the frame on the TT is very thick stout metal unlikely to bend with an over tightened COscrew.
What Others Should KnowALSO the pistol has a nice double action which is unusual in a CO2 Pistol.
This is the first automatic replica pistol that I've owned which has a working slide with a lock for 1/2 back that is non-blow back. I think this is the way to go so you don't compromise velocity and accuracy with blow back. I've probably bought 20 CO2 powered pistols so you could say I'm experienced! Love the fit and finish which are absolutely beautiful, and it definitely is a very cool and unique size and shape. The faux wood grips are very convincing, and I totally would NOT recommend brandishing this one in a Bank as it's very realistic!
Things I Would Have ChangedConsidering the fact it has a rather long barrel and doesn't have to deal with blow back kick, the accuracy is disappointing, and I nearly exhausted a CO2 cartridge trying to knock down 2" milk bottle caps from about 15 feet. It is still a lot better than my Makarov Ultra whose kick and bang are pretty cool BUT it is very inaccurate. My old Umarex PPK is much more on target! The safety seems phony- more like the plastic Smith & Wesson M&P NBB from years ago.... also like the Beretta 92, mostly plastic of the same era.
What Others Should KnowI see myself buying more Gletcher pistols to add to my collection- LOVE THEM!
This is my favorite the size, weight, and feel in the hand is perfect. Let me include the TT right along with this 1941. They are identical in in function the difference being the different slide serrations and grip panels. I find these very accurate for BB guns. The magazines are easy to load. The velocity is up there. I’m happy I have both for use and for my collection.
