10 of 11 Kral Arms Puncher Pro 500 Reviews
The stock is absolutely gorgeous once you give it a little sanding and put some oil on it blam it's like a much more expensive gun.Thiis is my second kral gun and other than a slow leak after 2000 rounds I've had no problems.I love the fact you get 2 magazine's and single shot tray with smaller calibers and the magazine's aren't expensive to purchase extra.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe only real complaint on the 500 is no hard case and the way they package to send out.I also like many others like the fact you have a preference drilled hole but the picatiny attachment is all over the place no matter how tight you make it.If someon6 had a easy fix without wrecking the aesthetic look I'd be appreciated.
What Others Should KnowYou'd honestly think the gu9 is regulated and it's benefits are minimal or at least it's on the gun one of my fellow club mates found out.
So far everything but the box it came in. The accessories had fallen out of their boxes and scratched the barrel shroud and stock. Not pyramyd airs fault but Kral's fault. I don't know why all Kral airguns don't come in the plastic case. But then again my $1600 FX wildcat was in a box. Pathetic!!!!!!!! Trigger is good enough for hunting and informal target shooting right out of the box. Breaks clean, good positive first stage stop. Just a little heavy break. Tuning is still on going. Waiting on new crony mine died in the middle of the first string. First 11 shots on a 250 bar fill with JSB 18grs were in the 925fps range. A little fast for stability. Will up date when tuning is complete.
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter box or plastic case. Don't care for the finish on the stock. Wood is beautiful just needs sanding and finish. Going to finish with tru-oil. Foster fill nipple. Just say NO to proprietary probes and adapters.
What Others Should KnowVery nice airgun for any price. This is what a high quality airgun should cost. The boutique airguns brands are keeping too many shooters from enjoying the airgun sport. $1600-2800 is getting ridiculous.
This gun is accurate and fun to shoot. It also has a very nice stock.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe rail system included with the rifle is sub par. It only screws in at one point (should have 2 screws) so it works loose easily and the threads in the stock for it are brass so if you reef down on it you can feel it start to strip out without much effort. Also the gun is really noisey but that doesn't bother me too much.
What Others Should KnowThis gun takes forever to fill with a hand pump due to the 500cc tank. I recommend getting an alternative fill system other than a hand pump.
Fast shipping to me here in Michigan. Liked the looks and feel of this rifle. Lighter than I was expecting. But all failed after my 4th shot. Air stated leaking down the barrel. Valve stuck part open. No matter what I have tried, it has remained leaking.
Things I Would Have ChangedFor sure the fill adapter. PITA. A barrel shroud that is actually a functional one. So hopefully I can get this fixed or a exchange. Have yet to get a response back from anyone on my defective gun.
What Others Should KnowThey are short staffed. Can't reach them about my defective rife. Calls and emails have gone without any return communication from them. But if you place a order, there's no worries there. I've placed 5 orders in this last 3 week's and they get them right out without problems. But if you have a problem such as mine with a lemon rifle, your stuck wondering what to do.
I held off on the accuracy because I haven't found a pellet that keeps any grouping past 30 yards. I've tried many. Hopefully it's not a bad barrel.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowBuy a compressor
I like the stock design and like the simplicity of Kral's design of their breech block. The barrel shoots accurately.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe 500cc aluminium bottle, it is too heavy, they should be carbon fiber. Everywhere I see Kral air rifles on the internet they are supplied with a plastic hard cases from Kral, my rifle came in a cardboard box which was torn up during shipping. I was extremely disappointed that there was no hard case. There was very little packaging foam in the cardboard box from Kral which causes some nicks in the walnut stock during shipping.
What Others Should KnowThe workmanship is sloppy. During manufacturing the critical areas where they tap the threads they left burrs which cut the o-rings for the valve body.
The trigger set from the factory is horrible. The screws for the adjustment of the trigger are sloppily tapped and are worrisome to work with.
Overall I was expecting much better after reading previous reviews.
Beautiful workmanship all around. The Walnut stock is comfortable and classic. I actually like the Pros stock thumbhole open shape better than the Jumbos stock. Great value and at a surprising price. Looks like it could have priced much higher. Barrel has -20 threading and a protector, so is moderator-ready. Definitely a tac-driver and an awesome shooter. My original order was for a Puncher Jumbo, which I received and loved until it failed with a major air leak several weeks before a road trip. PA customer service was great and agreed to change my order to the Pro 500 for the difference in price and the Pro was received in time for me to check it out before an extended road trip.
Things I Would Have ChangedI agree with most other reports. It would have been better with a standard fill port. Had to attach the fill probe to a BSPP 1/8 adapter to mate with my Nomad II. I would have liked a more substantial side-lever. The one supplied seems a little light but has smooth action so not much stress on it. Otherwise, I am delighted with this airgun. The screw supplied with the additional rail is a tad too small, so I will have to find a shorter replacement at the hardware store to have a secure fit to hold the rail to the stock.
What Others Should KnowI had intended to eventually do an upgrade/modification on my Jumbo to a 580cc tank but noted that Kral Arms had come out with a 500cc tank on the Pro, so the update to my order had fortunate timing. If you are thinking of modifying your Jumbo with a bigger tank, look no further. The Pro 500 is a classic piece in appearance. The weight feels good in hand. I added the Hawke 4-12-50 scope that I had on my Jumbo and a DonnyFL KOI moderator but only had time for about 50 rounds on my home range for testing with 15.89 gr Vortex pellets. Will submit a later report in a few weeks to update on performance, but preliminary shooting at >10 yards is hole-on-hole. Although this airgun has a tank rated at 500cc and came filled to 250 bar, it was still at 200 bar after shooting 4 magazines at full power. Thanks to PA Customer Service for fast upgrade approval and shipping. You can't go wrong with the Pro 500 and PA.
This is a very budget friendly gun, that delivers out standing performance in .25 cal. The stock is awesome and the comb is perfect for scope alignment. The best thing is this gun shoots, very accurate. sighted in at 50 yards with JSB 25.3 one hole with the whole mag. Mechanically flawless, great gun to add to my collection.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt would be nice to see it with a carbon fiber bottle. Maybe a regulator, it would be worth the extra money. Not real happy with foster connection, it would be nice if it were the same as my others.
What Others Should KnowAfter sighting this gun in at 50 yds. went to a 100 yds. and shoot two groups one just under a inch and one about 1 1/2 inch on a breezy day. Great gun at a great price!
Very nice looking gun, beautiful Walnut stock. High shoot count even in .25 cal. nice adjustable trigger . Hole in hole accuracy at 50 yards out shoot my friends .22 long rifle( we were side by side) Great rifle for the money. Whats not to love about this gun!
Things I Would Have ChangedChange aluminum bottle to carbon fiber.
What Others Should Knowyou get a lot of gun for the money, no issues at all with this gun,

I love the stock on my pro 500 and how easy it is to clean it after a day in the field.ive owned a few gun's and the price point is good for what it stands for.
Things I Would Have ChangedWhat I found is that the screw that holds the cocking lever in kept unscrewing just a little bit every time you cocked it and I managed to screw it in a couple of times because I didn't want to remove my scope but after taking my scope off and tightening it properly it's ok and the cocking lever where it meets the smaller lever had lots of play and was very loose even after tightening everything up so I had to remove it and shorten the the space where the it's held with the screw and now it's just how it should have been when I bought it and I think that the case of which my gun was supplied in the red hinged clasps are very flimsy they should be fixed at the top or bottom and have no hinge in the middle or use a better case for the same price and with some branding on because that's what let's in down apart from that..it's good and I could have bought a gun which was without these issues but now have come to love my kral puncher pro 500 and will never part with it.
What Others Should KnowMake sure you get the owners hand book with your guarantee in because I didn't receive mine he just said Go and download other..not helpful .. apart from that your going to love it eventually.
