The SIG Sauer 1911 Emperor Scorpion CO2 BB Pistol is an extremely faithful airgun reproduction of the handgun of the same name, with very similar features and operation. Capable of velocities up to 300 FPS, it represents an excellent training option for owners of the firearm model, as well as a fun plinking BB gun.
This air pistol is highlighted by a nearly-identical look and feel when compared to the genuine powder-burning version. It has the exact same size and weight as its authentic firearm counterpart, and requires either close examination or disassembly to reveal its true nature as a gun that shoots BBs instead of .45 ACP cartridges.
The 17-round magazine uses a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge to power semi-auto shots with blowback that adds to the realism by mimicking the action of the centerfire handgun. It also utilizes a metal slide and a metal frame, and has the same front and rear slide serrations as the original model for improved dependability when cocking.
The grip panels feature the same fish scale texturing as the firearm version, and the front strap has fine checkering to ensure a slip-free hold. To yield accurate shots, this air pistol uses fixed front and rear white dot sights, and an under-muzzle Picatinny accessory rail with three slots allows the addition of items such as lights and lasers.
To get an airgun with controls and features that closely mirror that of the firearm it copies for plinking or practice, buy a SIG Sauer 1911 Emperor Scorpion CO2 BB Pistol today at Pyramyd Air.

This is a great 1911 style replica pistol. The addition of this pistol brings my collection of 1911s up to a total of 14. Yes! I am a 1911 collector :-). Great Coyote color. Field takedown is realistic. Weight is also realistic. Very comfortable handling and the blowback has enough power to feel realistic. You WILL feel the jump!!
Things I would have changed:The only thing I would change is to put adjustable sights on this pistol. Accuracy is hampered by having to compensate so much while shooting. The four star Accuracy rating is due to the inability to use the sights properly, since they are not adjustable.
What others should know:Data was gathered using Caldwell Crony. I lubed the slide with Molly before using. Performance was measured using a 6 shot string. The pistol met spec with a Max Velocity of 309 fps and an average of 303.6 fps. The SD was 2.8 fps. Shot count averaged about 3+ clips to depletion of CO2 (about 54 shots). Full blowback performance was solid with power to spare. Very impressive velocity for a full blowback CO2 pistol. Accuracy was hampered by consistently shooting about 2-1/2" low at 10 feet and aprox 4.5" low at 18 feet. With compensation I could hit the 2" ring 2/3rds of the time, but that much compensation is difficult. I will have to figure out a way to change or adjust the sights to make this pistol usable for plinking. Its a shame this pistol does not have adjustable sights. It is a fun shooter but having to compensate for the sights is frustrating. This would have been a 5 star rating if it were not for the sights.

Build quality is top shelf. Functions flawlessly.
Things I would have changed:I would prefer higher velocity. Another 100 fps would put this pistol into the highest possible category.
What others should know:Very nice 1911 practice platform that will save the cost of firearm ammo.

Well, it was (past tense) a lot of fun for a couple weeks. Externally the pistol is a very solid and good replica. It looks and feels very much like the real 1911 firearms that I have. Very good blowback and it breaks down similar to a real 1911 firearm. See below for problems.
Things I would have changed:Perhaps beef up the internals.
What others should know:I've had the pistol for a little over a month and estimate that I've fired between 1500 and 2000 shots. The first issue was with the thumb safety moving slightly perhaps only 1/64 of an inch and locking the trigger as if the thumb safety had been fully engaged. I insured I was not touching the thumb safety on either the right or left hand side of the pistol while shooting, but the movement/ lockup still occurred. About the same time I had an issue with the trigger not resetting after every shot unless I completely removed my finger from the trigger after each shot. Lastly, bbs have stopped releasing from the magazine when shooting. The blowback occurs but the bbs do not exit. At this point I’m wondering if some of the internal parts of the SIG 1911 are just not up to 1500 to 2000 vibrating blowback shots.
