Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 BB Pistol, Brown Grips

Great replica of the original firearm. Shoots very accurate and I get 60 shots from one cylinder. Just a very fun gun to shoot, and economical too.

The realism in this one is absolutely insane. Weighty, good quality, it has all the functionality you could want plus the gorgeous looks.It just feels right, it's fun to use. Full blow back, locks back,both safeties work. It fires really well. The markings on the sides (warnings and Tanfoglio Witness 1911) aren't very bright which is good, it helps retain the look and feel of the replica, though it wouldn't be hard to remove. It has a matte gun metal finish, not shiny, which I really like. Looks quite a bit darker than the picture.

If it could fire a bit harder, say 400 fps and up, it would be the perfect replica, hands down. I would also change the lock back a bit, since it doesn't seem to be very reliable but that's not a big problem.

My Tanfoglio has a very slight issue in which it sometimes won't lock back all the way, sometimes it locks back half ways when out of BBs, but no big deal. I got the 10 for 10 service from Pyramyd Air, and it features an average fps of 281, maximum of 297 and low of 271, standard deviation of 8. It is winter, though, so it's reasonable for the fps to be less than advertised. Sadly, I don't have my own chronograph to test it again in warmer weather.

Make sure not to drop, at decent velocity, the metal will dent and damage, however, very likely to be cosmetic damage only.

The only thing I can see wrong with this gun is you can't put a full load of BBs in it because it jammed on me so only load about 15 or so in it !

Must have for fans of 1911s and realistic replicas in general. Well made and reasonably accurate. Mine's a refurb, so I saved a few bucks and have had no issues. Great service from PA.

Nothing. Higher fps would be nice, but not if it means sacrificing the realism of the pistol. There's plenty of other guns that fill the higher fps niche.

Should be part of any serious collection. I also have the Sig Sauer "We The People" and the KWC M1911, soon to be getting the John Wayne 1911. All are basically the same gun with slightly different features, so any one of them would do the trick if you want/need only one 1911.

As a WW-1 historian, although none of the 1911s are exact replicas of the original 1911, I like having a similar replica that has blow-back like the original. I was trained on the WW-2 version while in the service, so there is more nostalgia for me. Mine is a refurbished gun, which (to my way of thinking) means Pyramyd has addressed a prior problem and insured that issue was corrected. I like the weight and heft of it.

I would make the Tanfoglio name much smaller and improve the loading instructions. The point of entry where you place the BBs when loading could be improved. The last BB loaded has a way of falling out as you insert the magazine in the grip.

Mechanically, this is an air BB gun that sells for less than $100, nothing more. Enjoy what it does and don't expect it to perform like more expensive, non-blow-back pellet pistols with rifled barrels. It's really fun to shoot and to experience the blow-back action of the real thing minus the kick. It's a good way for a beginner to become accustomed to prior to moving up to the real thing.

The size and feel are almost identical to the real thing which allows you to improve your skills, especially instinctive shooting, for a very affordable price.

It uses up CO2 cartridges very fast. So make sure you have plenty of them.

The pistol itself is good. The magazine is a different subject. . . I've had three fail. Fail as in the valve gets stuck open. I put in a CO2 cartridge and the gas escapes right away.

If you know how to fix the sticky valve, please let us know. I've been putting a drop of oil on the top of the CO2 cartridge and it doesn't seem to help.
