Description
Since its original release in 2013, the Air Arms Ultimate Sporter has been one of the most highly prized airguns the world over. With its iconic stock and unmatched accuracy, the Sporter has become synonymous with serious airgunning. This time, Air Arms has upped the ante once again with a fully regulated version—the Ultimate Sporter XS—a rifle built to provide the greatest power and shot consistency of any Sporter to date.
You wanted a regulated S510 and Air Arms delivered, adding a regulator to the XS and boosting the power of the increasingly popular .25 caliber. These upgrades result in a PCP that can achieve powerful 44 ft-lbs in .25, 32 ft-lbs in .22 and 20 ft-lbs in .177. Power isn't the only thing increasing in the XS. The regulator offers increased consistency and shot counts from its 186cc cylinder, delivering 40 (.177), 35 (.22) and 30 (.25) shots per fill with minimal velocity change. These long shot strings are further aided by a built-in power adjuster to balance power and shot count.
Each XS features the prized Lothar Walther barrel, which gives this platform its renowned accuracy. This show-stopping system is further enhanced by an integrated Q-Tec Moderator that make this S510 XS one of the quietest airguns on the market.
Air Arms is one of the most detail-oriented airgun manufacturers and it shows not only in the internal components but the carefully crafted stock. This version of the XS features the signature laminated stock complete with an adjustable cheekpiece and buttpad. On the underside of the stock are 2 integrated swivel sling mounts and an accessory rail towards the forend. Each rifle includes 2 of Air Arms perfected 10-shot indexing magazines, smooth sidelever cocking mechanism and built-in manometer.
The Air Arms Ultimate Sporter has won fans worldwide and turned heads at the range with shots so accurate they require a double-take. If you want long consistent shot strings that land on target every time, make the S510 Ultimate Sporter XS yours.

10 of 13 Air Arms S510 XS Ultimate Sporter Air Rifle, Laminate Stock Reviews
The ergonomics of the rifle are perfect. It fills the hands in all the right places and feels solid and substantial. You just know that you're holding quality when you pick it up. I have the .22 version and it is crazy accurate with Hades pellets. I currently only have a distance of 22 yards to shoot but the groups are always one jagged hole. It is very quiet and an absolute pleasure to shoot. And the laminate stock is absolutely beautiful. I love the looks and lines of this gun. Fantastic.
Things I Would Have ChangedI am a bit disaappointed in the trigger. It is a two-stage trigger, which I like, and the trigger weight from the factory is perfect. But there is too much creep and start/stops in the second stage which almost defeats the purpose of a two-stage. The owners manual talks about adjusting the weight but not the creep. The two-stage trigger in my Beeman R9 is much better.
What Others Should KnowAs noted above, the trigger could be better. It's definately not a deal breaker and I wouldn't dissuade anyone from buying this based on the trigger, but I would expect better considering the price of the gun.
Best air rifle I ever had. Is just insane. Beautiful and super super accurate. Love this rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would prefer that the extra magazine that includes in the rifle will be a single shot magazine.
What Others Should KnowThis rifle is just the best of the best. If you are a serious airgunner, you need this rifle.
Gun is made excellent. Stock and components are fitted perfectly.
Things I Would Have ChangedGauge needs to be in psi for American sold guns. The moderator needs to be easily removed for cleaning instead of glued on.
What Others Should KnowIts worth the money. Tried cheaper guns with POI change if barrel was touched. This gun is rock solid its Worth the money
Almost everything. Looks great and shoots greater. Very consistent shot string. Five power setting nicely spread out, slow and soft to fast and hard. Lowest setting very quite. A little pricey but no regrets.
Things I Would Have ChangedA foster QD would be nice.
What Others Should KnowBuy a foster QD to be able to use the fill adapter.
Very high quality
Things I Would Have Changedfill port the star for value fpr money is because of the weak o-rings wish it had a fill connection like my other pcp rifle
What Others Should Knowo-rings on fill port fro,
o=rings from factory did not last but two fills. i replaced them and have filled many times with no problem
Fit and finish cant be beat or faulted. Very quiet in .22 cal and the power selector is very functional and not a gimmick. So far I have used level 3,5, and 5 with no change in accuracy at 30 yards. With preferred pellets 3/8 inch 10 shot groups are attainable and repeatable.
Things I Would Have ChangedFill port is ok but a foster qd would be preferable. Relocate the safety from the trigger blade.
What Others Should KnowPrice is steep but no regrets from me.
The laminate stock is superior. I am tired of black plastic guns. The accuracy is also superior! Straight out of the box, I mounted a Leupold 3 x 9, Mil Dot and within 10 pellets; I had made adjustments and placed three pellets in the same hole. Point of aim, point of impact. It is expensive, but there is no buyer's remorse. The Brits make a damn nice rifle!
What Others Should KnowFirst PCP, and I went all in and big! I skipped the hand pump as I had a buddy who gave me a scuba stage tank. I bought the Air Venturi filler hose. Remember to buy the little DINN quick connect to screw to the Air Arms fill adapter piece. It makes filling a lot easier to pop the hose off before removing the fill adapter piece.
I was shooting break barrels and became very frustrated with them. They're hard on scopes and needed constant adjustment. I researched a lot and decided on the this one. Accuracy is nuts! Over the top with any fire arm I've ever owned. Kills cans end on at 130 yards time after time. I use a Hawke 4-16 scope and a Nomad 2 compressor. Great combo ~4min fill time with the provided cylinder after 40 shots at 3/4 power. (.22) It's as quiet as a Red Rider and can shoot it indoors to outside during bad weather and not bother anyone. Super light trigger, 2 stage, (why?) But very precise. I didn't know I could shoot this well. I use Diabolo 18.13gr. ammo. No reason to change as I don't hunt. Very consistent. The 10 round mag is very easy to load even in low light situations.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe laminate stock seems very durable. I chose it because I could get a refurb for $200 less than the cheapest brand new. Glad I did. I would like a more informative manual. It needs to explain more than "don't miss with it unless you know what you're doing."
What Others Should KnowHoly Cow, I've ~3000 rounds through this thing. (about 2 weeks). The accuracy amazes me every time I shoot it. Pyramid Air provided excellent service and advice for my purchase. Go for it!
I really like the can on the front of the barrel for looks. The rest looks of high quality. At first I did not like the stock in the ad as it looked hideous, ugly, and with weird colors. However, I wanted a AA rifle originally in walnut with the black forend tip. Since, this model was the latest and greatest I was willing to overlook the stock. However, when I received it I really liked it. IT GROWS ON YOU like an acquired taste. I have not shot it yet as I have ordered a scope and mounts. As soon as I shoot it, I will give an update review.
Things I Would Have ChangedInclude a Foster fitting adapter for the fill device. My other guns have the Foster type or include an adapter. Offer a non laminated stock as an alternative such as that black soft touch stock.
What Others Should KnowGet the Foster fitting at the same time as when you order the rifle.

comfortable, easy to set up. First shots have been amazingly accurate so far.
Things I Would Have Changedneeding to remove the moderator to oil or clean the barrel. It would be nice if they made a bore guide to fit into it. I run an oil patch through after use, then need to run a dry patch through before shooting it again. I'll build a guide that fits the moderator since I can't seem to find one.
