Airforce Airguns is an industry legend for creating the Texan, one of the most powerful big bore PCPs on the market. While there's a lot of great ways to describe the Texan, quiet hasn't been one of them -- that is until AirForce introduced the TexanSS - a silenced solution for big-bore fans.
Never a company to rest on its laurels, AirForce introduces another addition to the diverse lineup of Texan PCP air rifles: the TexanSS Carbon-Fiber air rifle in .457 and .50 caliber. Just like its aluminum-bottled counterpart, the TexanSS Carbon Fiber model features AirForce's patented Sound-Loc® System technology, which helps take some of the bark out of this rifle's bite. It even produces more bite, thanks to its 475cc carbon-fiber air tank with a 250 BAR (3600 psi) fill pressure and updated TX2 valve. With those numbers, the CF model slings rounds downrange at muzzle energies of up to 600 fpe! What's more, the CF model is 20 percent lighter, weighing in at 6.76 lbs!
Getting all that power into a 42" air rifle makes this gun ideal for all-day hunting trips with an air rifle that's easy to carry around. If you're looking for a big bore with little sound and lots of power in a lightweight, maneuverable package, don't let this gun out of your sight!

Things I would have changed:There seems to be an issue with the power wheel turning on its own from the percussion of the shots also they need to put picanny rails instead of these 11 millimeter dovetails for more options for the buyers and some kind of foam for where your cheek touch the carbon fiber bottle it's gets cold I have had an issue with the safety won't engage all the time have to recock to get it to move a simple cross bolt safety would be better for this pcp.
What others should know:I reached out to Air Force about the power wheel turning on its own and they sent me some screws they were very helpful and quick in response kudos to them

I got this for hunting purpose in 45 Its lightweight very fast to reload more power than whats needed Hunting Big game with the right shot placement

What others should know:Filled it to max pressure with 350 grain Nielsen at a steel target trap in the backyard I dont know which one was louder the sound of the lead hitting the trap or the report either way I know it will do the job I havent used it yet for hunting Im stocking up on 457 now For this coming season I would say has a good shot count I took three off and I was still able If wanted three more Lethal hunting shots I just topped it off very happy with the purchase

It's exactly as pictured
AirForce Texan SS, does it have the two stage adjustable trigger? The specs blank on it.
Seems to have the same trigger feel as a condor, which is not what you would call a great trigger, but it is decent and it works fine. Its a hunting rifle first and foremost and everything about it speaks to that. Here are the stages of a Texans trigger: Stage one- pull the trigger, gun shoots. Stage two- let go of the trigger.
How many shots per fill?
Its a big bore hunting rifle. Shots per fill will be determined by how heavy the slug is that you are shooting and how high the power level is set to. Real world expectations would be 2 or maybe 3 good shots at deer hunting power levels and with @ 300 grain ammo. Most people only use one shot to take a deer so it does have ample air for its designed purpose. Bench shooting? Not so much.

This is by far my best hunting rifle out of the many air rifles I have. Super light and easy to carry in the woods and short enough to not get in the way. This thing is POWERFUL, very POWERFUL! There isn't a big game animal I wouldn't take at 100 yards or more no problem with the right shot.
Things I would have changed:The only problem I have had is a leaky gauge and that's it so far and have been shooting it for around 6 months now.
What others should know:You can hit a 6 inch gong consistently all day at 200 yards with 350 grain hollow point boat tails. If I had an area past 200 yards to set up the gong I'm sure I could dial it in for that far too, no problem. Super nice piece of equipment worth every penny, no regrets. Getcha one if you can afford it.
