Great clarity and design. Could use locking elevation turret though.

This scope hits well above its price. I have experience mostly with vortex and Trijicon and I feel this particular optic surpasses anything those brands offer in the same price bracket. The glass very clear and collects the light perfectly with no observable flare in full AZ sun. The turrets are crisp and tactile. Turret reset and zero lock is amazingly simple and the tracking has been spot on. The reticle is easy to interpret and not over cluttered of you are familiar with precision long range reticles. I would not recommend this to people who aren’t doing any sort of dialing precision shooting since the abilities of this scope would be a waste and overly complex for someone who zeros their 30-06 two inches high at 100yd and never touches the turrets again. (I’m not condoning this, I recommend to get something cheaper and simpler for that) I recommend this for long range target shooting and open country hunting. The small cons I have are as follows: The illumination lights up the full reticle. I feel it’s a bit unnecessary and makes the optic far too bright and think Athlon in the future should consider the center crosshair is all that needs to be illuminated. Many of the competitors have begun doing this it seems. The scope is a bit on the heavy side if you are looking to make an ultra light mountain rifle. Mine is mounted on a Springfield waypoint 2020 with carbon barrel and it is most definitely noticeable… not unhuntable but you definitely can feel the added mass. I personally accept the added heft due to the benefits of the optic’s capabilities. You will notice with all optics regardless of manufacturer once you get to the larger tubes and precision turrets. It’s a give or take world.

In the price point, this is a great optic. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I reserve that for Leupold Mark5HD, Nightforce or ZCO optics. I was looking for a good scope to put on my .243 “truck gun” to beat around and not worry about. This is a good quality piece with surprisingly great glass. I would say its closest competitor would be the Vortex Viper PST. If you’re looking for a great optic in this price range, I would definitely recommend it.

great clarity and has a rock solid simple zero stop. after shooting long range returns to true zero every time. only down side is its pretty heavy. not a bad thing for the gun I put it on.

The clarity has been awesome. The turrets track flawlessly. I wish they had more MOA reticle options, but this is one does more than I need. A little heavy for a mountain hunting rifle set up. But I have it on my rifle for shooting long distance at the range. Has performed in all weather conditions so far. For 55% off, this scope can’t be beat.

This is my second optic from Athlon. The scope is clear, tracks well, and has a generous eye box. Elevation and windage have good tactile clicks during adjustment. Good quality and features that are packed into an affordable price point.
