Description
The suppressed, break-action S8000E TAC pellet rifle shoots .177 or .22 caliber alloy pellets up to 1,200 FPS (.177) or 1,000 FPS (.22). It’s decked out with useful features usually reserved for more expensive rifles. One such upgrade is the 3-9X40 scope to bring targets in nice and close. There are also two buttstock spacers, an adjustable 3-position cheek riser, and customizable grip inserts to change its look and feel.
One of the first things people notice about this rifle is its suppressor. Integrated into the barrel is the Dual-Stage Noise Reduction System. It features an internal air regulator ring and baffles that work together to reduce noise.
An automatic, ambi safety engages when the barrel is cocked to ensure that the rifle isn't unexpectedly shot. Pushing it in with the thumb makes it ready to fire. The attached forend Picatinny rails give the air gunner the versatility to attach an accessory like a flashlight or laser for dim light shooting. And, helping put rounds downrange is an adjustable two-stage trigger.
If you’re looking for an affordable, yet decked-out air rifle, then the Stoeger S8000E TAC may be what you’re looking for. Buy yours today from Pyramyd Air.

10 of 11 Stoeger Arms S8000E Reviews
I was impressed with the package scope. The rifle shots well . I have not had time to work on grouping. At 30 yards small silhouette don't have a chance. Lol Mine shoots better with a tighter grip. Military open hand allows for flyers. Most likely my shooting style.
Things I Would Have ChangedCurrently not much. Trigger guard had sharp flash on it. Easily fixed with deburing paper.
What Others Should KnowFor the price that I paid this is a great value for your back yard needs. Even small varmint.
The scope is outstanding, great quality. I live in the Northeast, and it is quite cold so shooting a large number of rounds is out of the question. Stoeger has always been a company of great quality, Thanks.
Things I Would Have Changedthe grip, it would be difficult to carry in the woods and be comfortable.
What Others Should KnowIf you don't own a Stoeger air rifle, get one you won't be disappointed.
Love this rifle. When first sighting the rifle in at 30 feet, I shot 4 pellets into the same hole, and then adjusted it up and to the left. Again, I was shooting a single hole group. I was pleasantly surprised. I had trouble further adjusting the scope, but that turned out to be because the scope ring screws were getting loose. After tightening them, everything was fine. The rifle is very accurate. I'm spoiled when it comes to triggers, as I was raised on high-end, precision class, target guns: 3 Anschutz, 2 Feinwerbau's, and a Remington 40-XB. The trigger on this rifle is long and mushy, but it's not the worst, and it's better than almost all of my 10 spring-piston rifles. Here's why it's possible to shoot tight groups. The rifle is not hold sensitive, so you can practice developing good trigger control. That's the beauty of having an air-piston. I've only shot it twice, so I'm still working on mastering it. I've seen what it's capable of, but I'm not good enough, yet.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger. I wonder if I can replace it with a Charlie da Tuna's triggers? I might try that after I've completely broken it in.
What Others Should KnowLike all guns, you have to master trigger control. As I said previously, this rifle is not hold sensitive, so you can properly grip the rifle for good trigger control.
HINT: The goal is to deliberately squeeze the trigger, causing the gun to fire, such that you don't ruin sight alignment (i.e., your aim).
Don't put too much pressure on your lower two fingers, or you will "milk" the grip (i.e., pull it). Focus on bringing the trigger straight back.
Pay attention to your sight picture, and follow through. If the gun jumps and stays off center after a shot, then your hold is wrong. Think natural point of aim. The gun should remain aiming where you expected the shot to go after the shot.
Wish I could say more, but that would be coaching.
Enjoy!
Feels solid and good scope for the money
Things I Would Have ChangedFalse advertising on the suppression system. There isn’t one
What Others Should KnowThe listing describes a two stage noise suppression system. There is no suppression system at all in this rifle. The barrel extends all the way to the muzzle. False advertising.
This is a great air rifle ! I picked it up on the Christmas sale because it was less then 100$ . I dont review often but this deserves it . I thought ok its cheap I can plink around while I fish let me tell you its much better then that . It's a hard hitter not hard to cock like some I Have . I have 18 break barrels and this is my 2nd favorite only because it's a single shot right behind my bone breaker and the scope it's self is well worth the money i paid for the whole rifle. If you get the opportunity and you like break barrels just try it.I will be buying more
Things I Would Have ChangedI have a soft spot for wooden stocks , so i would love this in wood but it's fine
What Others Should KnowGoing to pick up a 6000 under lever when i find one at the right price Stoeger is a well made rifle just as good as my hatsan 65 and 95 .
Attractive rifle and built very sturdy. Quality through and through! I haven't had it long enough to put many pellets through it, but seemed to group well at 20 yds. A little hard to cock for this old guy 75, but we get'ur done!
Things I Would Have ChangedI wish Stoeger would start supplying with a bigger scope.
What Others Should KnowGreat value for a modest price!
Very good quality, and a this price buying one is a No Brainer
What Others Should KnowTakes a strong arm to cock but it packs a wallop
Very pleased with this Stoeger. First off, the ergonomics of this stock are great. And the Multi Grip System allows you to tailor the pistol grip and fore grip to fit your hand perfectly. I have big hands and it is quite comfortable for me. Adjustable cheek riser is great and you can also adjust length of pull. Cocking is quite smooth and the shot cycle is nice due to the gas ram system they use. I also did a pellet to bore test and the barrel maintains contact from the breech to the muzzle with several different pellets. Lockup is also tight. I also did some chronograph testing. Here are the results. JSB 8.4's over 25 shots Average Fps 874 Average Fpe 14.25 Extreme Spread 29 Standard Deviation 7 Groups .30 at 18 yards I think the spread will tighten up as the rifle breaks in. Overall I really like the rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger. It is very long and heavy. Full of lawyer springs. It is the same group as many Crosman products and can be greatly improved. Check the internet. Mine is breaking just over a pound now.
What Others Should KnowIf you have never purchased from Pyramyd Air, know that their customer service is excellent. If you have an issue, they will take care of it.
Very well constructed. Clean lines. Nice overall fit and finish. Tight lock up. Excellent finish on the steel. Very impressed with the scope. Clear view no distortion. Mounts could have been used on a magnum hunting rifle. Mounts are rock solid. Very nice groves and lands in the barrel. With attention to detail and technique with wad cutter ammo, since only available, ragged holes are achievable. My primary toys are a Diana 75 / Diana 10 / Feinwerk Bau 80. Thought I would have some fun with these new "gas" toys. If you closed your eyes you would think it was a centerfire toy. Nothing lose no wiggles.
Things I Would Have ChangedI realized prior to purchase it was not silent. So not surprised when operating it. 1200 - 1000 FPS will make some sound. Still not a regret since the ad did not list "sound reduction" as a feature. Some may not like the trigger but if carried with gloves in the field, I would never want the amazing trigger pull of my Diana 75 or Diana 10 since both are match grade and beyond belief on a pellet toy. Stoeger has a two stage trigger that some may not appreciate. However, I believe it is appropriate for an in-the-field carry.
What Others Should KnowOnly that like some old springers what i have handled .... this is a sold stout rifle. I bet it weighs more than a pre- 64 windchester or M1A.

Looks and feels great. Shoots more silent than smaller air rifles I've tested.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt is a little heavy but it's a well made gun.
What Others Should KnowThe pump is strong and it takes a little effort to pump but it not hard too.
