The Diana Chaser Rifle Kit is a pistol and rifle in one! This lightweight CO2 airgun was designed for hours of fun outdoor target shooting or as an ideal indoor plinker. Fueled by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge, the Chaser is a finely balanced modular platform that lets you choose whether a pistol or rifle is a better fit for your trigger time.

Available in .177 or .22 Diana had shooters of all ages in mind with the airgun's feather-light weight of 3.1lbs.  But do not let its slight build fool you!  The Chaser is a capable plinker and target puncher that can send its rounds downrange at speeds up to 642 fps in .177 and 500 fps in .22 caliber. To get started shooting, first decide if you want to use the Chaser pistol or transform it into a modular air rifle.  To turn the pistol into a rifle, loosen the three set screws that secure the barrel and pull the barrel from the breech.  Insert the moderated 17.7” rifle barrel into the breech and tighten the set screws.  Remove the pistol grip cap by unthreading the securing screw on the underside of the grip and sliding the cap off of the grip.  Then insert the butt stock into the holes on the grip and replace the securing screw.  Once those parts are in place, you’re ready to load up and sling lead.  As a bonus, the elongated barrel has the added benefit of increasing pellet speed by 35-40 fps over that of the pistol.

To get started, load a single CO2 cartridge, cock the smooth bolt-action, load your pellet, and pull the trigger.  While the Chaser only needs a single CO2 cartridge, a compartment on the bottom of the grip opens up a storage area to hold a second CO2 cartridge to keep more air power on deck.  Each includes a front blade sight with an adjustable rear sight and an 11mm Dovetail to zero in on targets with a scope.

Diana includes a single shot tray for precision shooting, but the Chaser can accept magazines used by its big brother the Stormrider.  With the addition of indexing magazines, transform your single-shot Chaser into a multi-shot repeater pistol!  These indexing mags hold 9 shots in .177 and 7 in .22 and cut down your reload times significantly.  The magazines are sold separately but are readily available here at Pyramyd Air.

If you want a lightweight pistol/rifle combination built for dropping cans and peppering paper targets, choose the Chaser Rifle Set and see what your shooting sessions have been missing.

Things I liked: Bought this as a companion to my much modified 2240. Also as a training gun for my great grandchildren. Nice packaging, swapping from the pistol to the rifle was easy, no problems there. great trigger pull and a pleasure to shoot. The moderator makes a BIG difference, especially with the pistol. Quiet enough for basement shooting. Surprisingly good accuracy with the caveats mentioned below. Over all a good light fun gun for the money.

Things I would have changed: The grip is terrible, very slippery with no stippling or checkering. Will probably put some grip tape on it or an Uncle Mike's rubber grip cover. With the once piece design, very difficult to make custom grips for it. The rear sight on the rifle is very small and hard to pick up. I painted a white outline on the rear sight and a bright red on the front. Bigger block sights would really help. The magazine is tiny and if you have large fingers you may have a problem loading it.

What others should know: First off, give your barrels a good cleaning, as there is a lot of crud in there. Also found it very hard to crank down on the CO2 cartridge with the supplied lever to get it to seat properly. Made a longer one to give more leverage. Accuracy wise, the pistol was VERY finicky when it came to pellets. Found two types that gave decent groups center to center, at 26 feet, RWS Hobbys gave a group of .950 and then was able to tighten it up to .520 (5 shots on a improvised rest). The only other pellet that did well was the Crosman premium domed magnums which gave a best group of .780. All others were an inch or larger. The rifle faired much better and shot good groups with various pellets but once again the RWS Hobby, .735 and the Crosman premium domed mags at .780. (all shots with iron sights) Also of note was that had a hard time loading Gamo whispers and Gamo red rockets. Also tried the H&N slight sniper (which another review had good results)but came in at 1.4

Things I liked: If you are looking for a great backyard/general plinker this is it. I never tried the pistol so this pertains to the rifle. The first thing I realized is that this rifle is quiet. I thought my Umarex Fusion was quiet but this is better. The only thing you can hear is the pellet hitting the target. The safety is on the trigger but you don't have to reset it every time you load the chamber. Accuracy is excellent and hitting a soda can offhand at 25 yards (maximum distance for my backyard) is a snap. I have been shooting RWS Meisterkugeln 8.2 gr. and JSB Match Diabolo 7.33 gr. with excellent results. Bottom line: this is an inexpensive accurate quiet rifle that is a lot of fun to shoot. I would highly recommend it.

Things I would have changed: Nothing

What others should know: As far as sights go I got a Winchester 4x32 scope with rings from Pyramyd for $35. (part # PY-A-1227) It is a perfect fit for this rifle. Since the rifle is light to begin with there is no noticeable additional weight when shooting. All the shooting I mentioned above was with this scope mounted. I never tried open sights.

Things I liked: It was accurate, when it didn't jam. And in single shot mode so no mag used. Then the bolt handle broke off. Its Chinese so it's a pos. I was leery at first but it had good reviews. I should have listen to my gut instinct and never bought this. Its going back for a refund. No more Chinese for me. Stay away

Things I would have changed: Make it in Germany

What others should know: Stay away, far away

  • Jim from USA asked:

The photo of the gun with the rifle barrel attached shows a barrel clamp and sight. Are these supposed to come with the kit, 'cause mine didn't include them. How can I get these parts?

    • Tyler from USA:

Yes the barrel band and rear sight should be included with the kit.

  • Lon from USA asked:

Please provide real, tested power levels for both the .22 and .177. I have seen Tyler's thorough review on the .22, so we do have that data. Please add tested data on the .177. Thank you.

    • Lon from USA:

      Thanks Tyler.

    • Tyler from USA:

The .177 was tested and shoots a 7 grain pellet at around 640 fps. That's a little over 6 FPE

  • Kenneth from USA asked:

I believe you can put the foam that comes with it to line the bag and keep everything in place.

    • Tyler from USA:

      Yup, you sure can
