Lay down a shower of lead with the Diana Stormrider!

Since 1892, Diana has produced high-quality airguns that are as reliable as they are accurate. While the Stormrider may not be their first PCP, it’s certainly the most budget-friendly. With a straightforward, no-frills design, the Stormrider’s combination of repeating shots and great features make it a serious contender for one of the best entry-level PCPs.

The first thing you’ll notice is the quality of the German beech stock. It’s sturdy and contoured with checkering on the grip and forend. With a thickness of 1.5 inches wide and a total weight of 5lbs, the Stormrider is easy to handle for shooters young and old.

Hands down, the best feature of this Diana is its repeating shots. Simply load up the rotary magazine and slide it into the breech which secures it into place magnetically. With 9 shots in .177 and 7 in .22, cycle to a new round with a quick flick of the bolt action. Once you charge up the 200 BAR (2900 psi) cylinder, you can send rounds downrange at 1,050 fps (.177) and 900 fps (.22). Additionally, if you want to shoot one shot at a time, a single-shot tray is included.  It also includes open sights with a fully adjustable rear sight and an 11mm dovetail for mounting your own optics.

If you’ve wanted your own PCP airgun but the price has held you back, the Stormrider gives you a budget-friendly PCP design that lives up to the Diana name.

Tech Tip: The front and rear sights are removable. It may be necessary to remove the rear sight when mounting an optic longer than 10".

Things I liked: Awesome light rifle, quick to fill with a hand pump and I was surprised how many how many shots you can get before the point of impact changes.

Things I would have changed: Nothing

What others should know: Great value for the money spent.

Things I liked: Slim, lightweight construction is good for those of us with cranky shoulders, and is also good for smaller shooters. It just feels good to hold. The iron sights are just right for this gun. The trigger has a very smooth pull, as has been noted in previous reviews. Accuracy is adequate for plinking.

Things I would have changed: As always, there are going to be QC problems with guns of this extraction. Should have had mine tested by PA, as they might have picked up on the problem with seating pellets. Apparently, the inside diameter of the end of the barrel at the breech end is off by at thousandth or two such that pellets hang up where the receiver meets the barrel. It isn't bad enough to completely prevent seating, but the larger and harder pellets are a real chore to seat. JSB Exact 18.1 gr. domes seem to seat the most easily with just a slight bump in the bolt stroke. After 1000 shots, loading is getting easier.

What others should know: You can mitigate the stiff bolt action with lots of Ballistol. A couple of generous applications made mine much easier to cycle. I have not yet tried the magazines, as it is enough challenge to load pellets individually. Manually pushing pellets into the breech seems to help. There may be a fix by removing the barrel and enlarging the barrel end with a rotary polishing tool.

Things I liked: light, cheap, overall good value

Things I would have changed: like it was said before. this gun NEEDS another front barrel support. I absolutely could not get this gun to work with a scope. I am a machinist, took it to the shop. the barrel came sagging so bad I ran out of scope adjustment! there is a .169 gap(at the action) between the barrel and air chamber, and only .119 gap at the end of the barrel and air chamber. I machined a .169 barrel support, re-centered my scope crosshairs,(because they were out of travel) and no B.S.........bull'seye,

What others should know: I would give this gun 5 out of five if it came with a front barrel support. best pcp for the price

  • Dick from USA asked:

There was no parts listing or internal picture diagrams, but there were a large number of seals of various sizes and types included with my rifle. Should a parts list and diagram have been included? If not, where can I get them?

  • michael from USA asked:

How do you remove the front sight for installation of a scope?

    • Tyler from USA:

Front sight? It wouldn't be in your way. But you can remove the blade via the allen screw on the top of it. If you mean't the rear sight, that's also one screw (just remove the elevation adjustment by turning counter clockwise) then you can slide the rear sight off the dovetail. It may require some gentle taps with a mallet to get it moving.

  • ace from USA asked:

Are there any aftermarket bolts ? maybe bigger and stronger metal

    • Tyler from USA:

Not that I have seen....check out one of the airgun forums like the GTA to see if anyone has info on aftermarket bolts.
