The War Hammer was perhaps the ideal weapon for use against a knight encased in plate steel! The heavy hammer head could crush the strongest suit of plate with just a few blows, and the back spike could open that armor like a can opener! Already proven to be popular with Historical European Martial Artists and re-enactors alike, Cold Steel's modern interpretation of the War Hammer is highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands. The head is drop forged out of 1055 Carbon steel and differentially heat treated. The point of the spike and hammer face are fully hardened so they can pierce and crush tough materials, while the rest of the hammer is forged to be softer - to absorb the shock of heavy blows. The handle of our War Hammer is 30" of straight grain American Hickory, and topped with a pair of sturdy steel langettes.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hammer was already attached. This is a simple but awesome weapon. I live in the so called progressives state of New York where they do whatever they can to grab your firearms. As an alternative, I have experimented with different non firearm weapons, many of which have come from Cold Steel. This war hammer is the most brutally awesome weapon I have yet to utilize. I was afraid that I'd have to assemble the hammer but the head is already in place. It it perfect in fit and finish and the balance is flawless. I'm gonna buy more!!!!
I bought one of these 15 years ago and it is the best demo tool I have ever used. From fiberglass out buildings to sheet rock and 2x4's to punching holes in steel drums, this War Hammer crushes through it. Easy to assemble, comfortable to use. It sits right along with my entrenching tool and Fubar in the back of my Jeep.

Probably the most reliable Bludgeoned weapon you'll ever get, great for home defense, I would argue better than a bat. My only complaint is that it comes dissambled, and you have to assemble it yourself.
