This is a great little knife. It's light weight, but still feels as though it has substance. Although it did not come with a black coating, it still looks better in person and feels like a quality knife. I rigged it for scout-carry as my new EDC.
Right size and good sheath, fits my ECD requirements.
Used this knife on a recent game harvest for field dressing a deer and fell in love with the handle design and ability to control the blade at all times!!!
The Mini Hunter is the go to blade for dressing and boning game up to yearling cow Elk. Compact, light weight, holds an edge for one or more critters and the grip is non slip when covered in blood and fat. Using the spine of the blade on a metal match gives a big hot spark. It is unlikely a replacement will be needed. Do watch the point when working around the rumen. 18 seasons and counting.
I sent my old one in to be sharpened. It took a little longer than anticipated so since deer season started, they said I needed a knife , they sent me a brand new one until my other was completed. This is the best knife and best company I have experienced for a LONG time. Thank you Cold Steel! Will be buying more.
I had been looking for a hunting knife for small game and upland game birds that was full tang and lightweight, yet still built like a small tank. I found it in the Pendelton Mini Hunter. It is razor sharp and is the perfect size. It can be drawn right out of the sheath and is so lightweight, I hardly know it is there. The price was right too and as I own several other Cold Steel knives, I knew it was going to last and be a quality tool at a very decent price.
