Now Hatsan has released the Hatsan Sortie Tact giving you everything you loved about the Sortie, with the stabilization of a removable folding stock.

Featuring a 62cc cylinder that’s simple to fill with a handpump, you can sling lead downrange at speeds up to 750 fps (650 in .22).  To take advantage of this pistol’s repeating shots, Hatsan included 3 magazines (10 in .25, 12 in .22 and .14 in .177).

With the Sortie, you can keep your shots on target with the detachable fiber-optic sights, or use the combo Dovetail/Picatinny optics rail—a rail that deserves a red-dot for fast sighting and shooting. The ergonomic synthetic grip gives the Sortie full-weather capability, and ready to toss into the back of a hiking bag when not stored in the included hard case.

If you’ve longed for a versatile PCP air pistol that can shoot shot after shot, grab a Sortie and become the fastest air pistoleer on the range.

Things I liked:

Very Accurate and semi auto. Have put over 2,000 rounds through it and really love it. I like the gun so much that I just ordered a second one.

Things I would have changed:

The hammer is always cocked when in storage and not in use. There is no way to uncock it. This results in the hammer spring being compressed. Locking the bolt back puts even more stress on the hammer spring. After awhile the spring takes a set reducing the amount power applied by the hammer. This reduces the power and velocity of the pellets. When the power gets to low the blowback is not enough to advance the magazine causing a misfire and possible jam. Another reviewer wrote that his spring got completely compressed and he had to replace it with one from the hardware store. He did not write a follow up as to whether this was a permanent fix. A way to uncock the hammer would save the spring and make the gun safer to carry.

What others should know:

A 4mm hex driver will fit the hammer spring tension adjustment. It is accessed through the hole in the back of the hammer when the stock is removed. Turning it one or two turns counterclockwise will usually increase power enough for the gun to properly cycle. Based on another reviewers comments eventually the spring may gets so compressed that it has to be replaced. I have not gotten to the point where I will have to replace one yet. Jim K.

Things I liked:

I purchased this pistol in November, 2020. I did not get to actually try it until right after Christmas when my indoor 5/10/15 meter range was completed and my new compressor was replaced with one that actually worked. Prior to that I assembled the butt stock after trying to hold the pistol and point and aim it without air or pellets. I concluded that it was too unwieldy to be used as a pistol. The stock attached easily and was able to be adjusted down to fit my sight picture. Now the pistol could be held with a target sight in confidence. I tried to fill the magazines. The instructions were difficult to follow. Fortunately there were videos of filling various magazines posted online.

Things I would have changed:

Finally the day arrived a few days after Christmas when I got to fill the air chamber and try the pistol. The first attempts were not favorable. The first two magazines had several pellets fail to pass through the barrel and there were two or three pellets caught in the barrel. They cleared easily from the barrel with a cleaning rod. I prefer fire arms but now at my age I need to shoot inside during bad weather. Hence the inside pellet gun range. With a fire arm, if I want to, I can shoot as fast as I can pull the trigger. At least in the beginning, when I tried that, it translated into pellet jams in the Sortie. I learned that there needed to be a slight time lapse or the pellets would not get enough air to pass through the barrel. As I have used the pistol more, this has become less of a problem.

What others should know:

I have not yet tried to adjust the sights but from a rest the gun places the pellets consistently in the same small area from ten meters. Overall I enjoy this pistol. It has a learning curve for a person without much experience with PCP air guns. The magazines required educating myself before filling, as the included instructions were hard to follow. I can shoot two magazines of pellets between filling the air chamber. Those of you with greater experience with PCP air guns will probably have less problems in the beginning than myself.

Things I liked:

looks, semi-auto, and, oh yeah, looks pretty accurate as well. once it was zeroed - which took a bit of trial, btw - it is about .5" @ 10yd for a mag can shoot 3 mags on one fill, which is good since I use a hand-pump. not too bad with the hand-pump, either Folding stock is comfortable

Things I would have changed:

Add easy capability for moderator as it is just a tad too loud to really be backyard friendly. Fortunately, my neighbors are all a little more distant than some and are all okay with it - some have their own plinkers, too, for the nuisance squirrels and blue-jays.

What others should know:

Trying to zero was a chore and took about 100 shots. Had the rear sight all the way against the right and still shooting left of target. Had to adjust the front sight left 2-3mm and reset the rear back to the middle and there it was. Have about 500 rounds through it now and works like a champ. Last 1/4" of bolt travel to get it to lock is a bit of a tussle at first, but even that gets easier it seems. Folding stock must be removed to store in case. Really should consider a slightly thicker case since the stock is included. On/off is not too difficult, though.

Anyone else get their new sortie and it just leaks air?

      • Mike from USA answered:

Was not defective. It takes a few pumps I guess to seat the seals.

Yes. a small portion of airguns are defective right out of the box, Return the gun.

    • john from USA asked:

Hello Just got this and trying it out for the first time. Is there some trick to filling this with air? I cocked the action back and start to fill it and the air immediately leaks out of the barrel chamber. Anyone have any suggestions?
