The Legends M3 CO2 Grease Gun is a realistic airgun version of the M3A1 variation of this iconic submachine gun that has genuine features and full-metal construction for heightened authenticity. Reaching velocities of up to 450 FPS and with a cyclic rate of 1,025 BBs per minute, it provides shooters with a chance to own a piece of history that is otherwise difficult and expensive to experience.
One of the most unique features on this airgun is accessed by lifting the flip-open dust cover to reveal the bolt, which has a charging hole cut in it to allow a shooter to insert a thumb and pull back to cock the Grease Gun. This is an improvement over the original version of the M3 which used a crank cocking lever, and instead allows the user to simply cock it and then pull the trigger in either full-auto or semi-auto mode for 60 rounds of intense blowback action.
The airgun includes a fixed peep-style aperture rear sight and a fixed blade front sight, both present on the powder burning version. The weight and build quality
Things I Would Have ChangedPoint of aim/impact. Mine shoots very high and left. I'm brainstorming ways to modify the sights (which are not adjustable).
What Others Should KnowFunctions/feeds great and looks awesome.
It's a Grease Gun! It looks great and shoots great. It seemed to get great "gas mileage", but we were shooting on a very hot day, 94 F. It is not as easy to hit with as the Thompson M1 A1, but that may just be the sights. The gun itself seems to shoot straight. All in all, it's a lot of fun to shoot.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowI had one failure to puncture both cylinders and then remembered to put a little oil on the threads to make it easier to tighten the plug. No more problems after that. I shoot Daisy steel BBs. The Daisy BBs are zinc plated so they don't rust but the zinc slowly oxidizes and the dull finish seems to cause feed issues. I just dump the new, still shiny BBs into a larger container, give a quick spritz with silicone oil, screw on the lid and tumble them around until they are all lightly coated. Zero feed issues with the M3 so far.
The looks, feel and operation are realistic.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe gun would fire several shots then stop. I found that the second CO2 cylinder wasn’t punctured by the end plug. I added a thick washer between the two cylinders and the gun operates perfectly.
What Others Should KnowBuy large quantities of BBs and CO2 cylinders.
Very accurate presentation. Similar in size and weight. Some deviations that are necessary and don't detract from the whole. Shoots well. Goes through 60 BB's very fast.
Things I Would Have ChangedThere is a problem piercing both cartridges (using Crossman). Solved the problem by dropping a steel washer on to the base of top cartridge.

What Others Should KnowThis is a beautiful rendition of the original M3 Grease Gun that my Dad carried as a Forward Observer in Korea. I have a picture of him carrying it, standing next to my Uncle Forrie, who had picked up with their artillery unit. So Dad would sneak around and find the bad guys and call his brother to tell him where to shoot!!!! Great reason to buy a gun, not that I ever needed one!!!! I may never fire this piece, but is an incredible sub for the real thing without the price of a divorce!!!!! Oh, I have the M14 replica too. My buddy, a Viet Nam Veteran, wouldn't touch it at first, thought it was the real thing. N'uff said!!!

There are many machine guns of various kinds, and we all have our favorites. Might be the M2, M1919, M60, whatever, but I have always coveted the M3. I have books, engineering drawings, everything about them I am fairly knowledgeable on. I had hoped to build one from scratch, but this is a more fun and legal way to enjoy it. This is a very nice reproduction of the real thing, and it is just a pure blast to shoot. The shoulder stock has a solid fell just like the real one with good solid lockup when you pull it out. I found the peep sight to be surprisingly accurate, put my first single shot BB in the 10 ring at 25 feet. But then I went full auto and shredded the target. I got the package deal from Pyramyd, plus their 20% off coupon, and they shipped it quickly. I was burning through BB's at a budget busting rate in just a couple days. Buy from Pyramyd and get good customer service and support a small business.

What Others Should KnowIt is fairly easy to load the mags from the pour spout of some BB containers, I bought the Umarex speed loader, but it has issues. Iit seems to have a design flaw that keeps it from operating smoothly in manner that gets the BB's into the magazine without spilling them, or sometimes blasting a whole bunch all over the place. Most times the plunger locks up and you have to tap the unit to get it to work. My son had one and I knew it was not very good, but thought his was defective, it was not, then again, there are times where you get several plunger operations and it loads 5 or 6 BB's each time perfectly. There must be a technique to it. Some discussion has been made about the trigger pull, it is a bit tight, but in the heat of fun, you won't notice it. Be careful, these guns are addictive, I already want the Thompson.
