Being a WWII historian I Love the M3 Grease gun, the way it looks, feels, shots & weighs, gives this M3 replica a special place in my heart.
Things I would have changed:My biggest gripe, is the loading time, when you shoot automatic you will definitely spend more time reloading than you will shooting! Wish there was another place to load your CO2 cartridges in, and leave the magazine entirely for BB's and a lot of them, when you need to reload you could just shake it or slide a lever and it would reload automatically! Cutting the reload time would definitely give the shooter, more time to focus on the target and the fun! One other thing that would put this M3 over the top is to have two versions, one parkerized, and one not.
What others should know:When the M3 arrived on my doorstep I couldn't wait to shoot it! I immediately loaded it up with BB's & CO2's and started shooting after that, I was ready for round two, but much to my dismay when I removed the CO2 screw, I discovered that only one CO2 was getting pierced & the 2nd one loaded wasn't, after some troubleshooting with Pyramid Air support. I was told to try Umarex's CO2 cartridges, I searched 3 towns, surrounding my own, and found no Umarex CO2's anywhere, so instead of always needing to order them, through Pyramid Air every time I wanted to go shooting, I regrettably sent my M3 back, I also had the same problem with my MP40 but because that replica was so spot on, I kept it for my WWII collection, if the M3 had been parkerized I may have kept that as well. In the end when my refund gets finalized, I plan on buying the m1 carbine, with the wooden stock. I don't know if I'll ever find out if there's a difference between Umarex's CO2's & others but CO2's should be universal.

What others should know:Use UMAREX CO2 cartridges....Off brand can be a "hair" in size difference for piercing both tanks......Remember, UMAREX manufactures with their CO2 cartridge dimensions....My other Legends, MP40 AND M1A1, have issues with off brand (Crosman or Daisey) cartridges....With the M3 I've had no piercing problems using UMAREX brand CO2....

Are the 60 BBs supposed to be double stacked in the magazine when loaded through the loading port?
Yes, this is a double-stack magazine, but it only holds 30 rounds.

I thought the magazine was spot on, and compliments the M3 grease gun.
Things I would have changed:I had problem with both magazines the one that came with the M3 grease gun in the extra magazine I ordered both did not pierce the second CO2 inserted.
What others should know:Customers should know if they have problems with the CO2 not piercing through, to contact support immediately and tell him of this problem this was my problem and I ended up sending the grease gun back however I do like the grease gun it is built very well it's just the problems with the magazine and the piercing elements!
