This XS features an all-weather, Ultimate Sporter tactical black Soft-Touch stock with seamless fit and finish that reflects Air Arms dedication to traditional craftsmanship. Born for long woodland hunting, the XS includes checkering on the grip and forend ensuring a sure hold, further enhanced by an adjustable cheekpiece and buttpad. Each of these rifles includes integrated sling mounts for field carry and an accessory rail ready to accept a bipod or palm shelf.
Airgunners dreamed of a regulated S510, and Air Arms delivered, all while boosting the power of the increasingly popular .25 caliber. With this regulated upgrade, the XS can achieve a whopping 44 ft-lbs in .25, 32 ft-lbs in .22 and 20 ft-lbs in .177. Power isn't the only thing increasing in the XS. The Xtra’s regulator offers increased consistency and shot counts from its 288cc cylinder, delivering an impressive 60 (.177), 55 (.22) and 40 (.25) shots per fill with minimal velocity change. These long shot strings are further aided by a built-in power adjuster to balance power and shot count. Each XS Xtra features the prized Lothar Walther barrel, which gives this platform its renowned accuracy. Each rifle includes 2 of Air Arms perfected 10-shot indexing magazines, smooth sidelever cocking mechanism, and an easy to read built-in manometer.
The Air Arms Ultimate Sporter platform has turned heads at the range since 2013 with shots so accurate they require a double-take. If you want the longest, most consistent shot strings with surgical accuracy, join the elite ranks of Air Arms airgunners with S510 Ultimate Sporter XS Xtra.

Things I liked: I purchased the refurbished .22 cal version of this rifle. The price was too good to pass up. It was the exact model I was looking for at $600 off the price of a the new version of the gun. Everything was great until it started leaking air after 2 wks or so. I contacted Pyramydair. They had me ship it off to Air Venturi for warranty repairs at my cost ($58.41). It was gone for approximately 3 wks. When I got it back, same thing. It leaked worse than it did before! I was unable to shoot it. I contacted Pryamydair and Air Venturi. Air Venturi got back to me and sent me a UPS label and told me that I should not have been told to pay for shipping. They reimbursed me for the $58.41. I got the rifle back once again. It shot like a dream. I ran about 150 pellets through it before it broke again. Air Venturi told me to ship it back. This is the 3rd time for the same problem. I contacted, or tried to contact Pryamydair and still have not heard from them. At this point I just want a refund
Things I would have changed: I would never buy a refurbished airgun again. There are too many parts with close tolerances that can fail. I'm sure that my rifle had an issue with a defective part that Air Venturi probably didn't have the time find. I've purchased a Macbook Pro refurbished, a reburbished Canon 6D camera, three lens refurbished as well as many other products. This is the first refurbished product I have ever had a problem with.
What others should know: If you want this rifle, buy it new. It is heavy so be prepared for the heft. Really, it is heavy. Then again, it is a wooden stock covered with a some soft touch material. I shot it from the bench so it was not a big deal for me. I can't see lugging it all day in the field though. Accurate? Oh my gosh is it accurate! I recently got into this "hobby" this past December and hitting a target 75 yards away with 2 inch groups astonished me. I can see why folks get board with target shooting at close distances. If you want it, get it. Don't buy it refurbished though.

Things I liked: Super nice ergonomic stock....soft touch over wood is very grippy and durable. The pistol grip and fully adjustable comb are extremely comfortable. The two-stage trigger is definitely match grade and easily adjusted without removing the action from the stock. Free of creep and a very clean break. Shrouded barrel and threaded end cap, you can make it very quiet if you add a supressor. Side lever cocking is long but super smooth and precise. Super accurate with 18gr JSB and Air Arms pellets. I have shot 1" groups at 100yds no problem. Power is high, 35fpe....able to launch heavy pellets with ease. Turn the power adjuster down for lighter pellets. Reasonably accurate with NSA slugs in 19 and 21gr....2" at 100yds. The metal work and fit and finish are top notch. This is a high quality rifle all the way around. I get an extreme spread of between 10 and 20 with heavy pellets, between 20 and 30 with 15gr pellets. This rifle is tuned for high power. I get 45 shots on the regulator.
Things I would have changed: Make the rifle so it allows for easy hammer spring adjustments. As it comes, there is little the shooter can do to fine tune.
What others should know: The rifle is long and heavy. It is high powered so expect to dial down from Max power when shooting 16gr or lighter pellets....and possibly 18gr pellets depending upon your own results. It shoots 19gr slugs at 900fps and 21gr slugs/pellets at 860fps..... plenty fast enough.

are the regulators the same in the refurbished guns ?22 cal ?
Yes. The XS models are all fitted with regulators.
Question for Tyler at PA: In the PA specifications, all of the different versions of the s510 XS Xtra's have a sound rating of 3-moderate, except the s510 XS Xtra with the black stock. The specifications for this version indicate the sound level is 2-low moderate. Is that a typo on the PA specs? Thanks in advance for clarifying.
Mistake been fixed.
How many magazines does the S510 Ultimate Sporter XS come with in the box? Will standard S510 magazines work with this gun?
Comes with 2. And yes, standard 510 mags will work

Things I liked: Its a laser from 20 to 45 yards. At the high setting I get 922 FPS (avg) with 18 gn AA pellets (~34 ft lbs). Got a referb, hundreds off list so great deal. I had some issues with the aim point shifting. Traced it to some loose set screws.
Things I would have changed: The fill port should be a standard quick disconnect. I changed the trigger to a Rowan Engineering MPR.
What others should know: It is long and heavy. Not a walking field gun. Find a hide, sit and wait.
