The adjustable stock, the rifled barrel (accuracy), and the PRICE! the trigger feels crisp the weight is great for kids.
Things I Would Have ChangedBeing the gun is majority plastic it does seem a little fragile. If making the plastic a little thicker increases the price, i would not change a thing. it is a little hard to pump for the littler ones (My seven year old) however he will grow into it.
What Others Should KnowI bought this to teach my children basic marksmanship skills so I didn't put the scope on. The adjustable stock makes it great when switching between the kids. the kids pump it about 8 times and get pretty good groups. i did not notice a difference when pumping it the max of 10 times. I did give the accuracy a 4 out of a 5 as this is not super accurate but good enough to have fun and teach shooting skills. (I only use pellets.. i have not shot this using BB's)

The Torrent is definitely light weight, easy to pump, and the fiber optic front sight really helps young shooters get the concept of a good sight picture. 5 shot pellet clips are decent and the open top loading area allows for visual confirmation of pellets in the clip and loading. Compared to the Crosman 760, I think the longer fore end provides a bit more leverage for pumping and I like the Torrent a lot better. It's a great starter rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedThis is a small rifle, but the size/length of the wrist of the stock is actually a bit too big/long for small handed shooters to position their hand and get good trigger finger positioning. The rear sight blade is fairly large overall and the outside edges are very squared-off stamped sheet metal. I'm waiting for someone's hand to get bit by the corners and may actually round them off with a file. Stock to receiver fit was not good with my rifle and there was a noticeable wiggle. Since that's where you hold it when pumping, I wanted a solid fit.The eventual fix was to remove the stock and put in several thicknesses of electrical tape to shim it. That worked quite well. I have not tried the scope that comes with this and I don't think it's worth the time or pellets to try it. I would rather have paid $5 less for this rifle than to have a scope I'll never use.
What Others Should KnowI bought this instead of the Daisy 35 and it has worked out to be a good decision. The trigger is not too bad, but itself plastic and with a long-ish springy pull. The sight radius on the Torrent is a bit longer than the Daisy 35 (which is good) and the rear sight notch is very narrow - about exactly wide enough to fit the fiber optic dot but not quite wide enough to see any light on either side of the front sight post. Length of pull with stock fully collapsed is much shorter (like 2.5") than the Daisy 35 - again great for young shooters of small size. I have not tried BBs yet, only Crosman 7.4gr wadcutters and Diabolo Basic 7.0gr wadcutters. The rifle seems to be a bit better with the Crosman ammo and accuracy is plenty decent enough to hit soup cans and balloons at 8-10 yds. With careful aim, group size can be <1.5" at 18 yds
